My Alleged Husband

Chapter 751: Chapter 721 My Decision_1

Zhang Zhentian knew that his wife had said so much only to deter him, but he was not someone to easily back down. Since he had made his decision back then, he would never regret it no matter what. To him, even if he had to endure all kinds of grievances, what did it matter as long as he could stay by his wife’s side?

Conversely, when he saw his wife considering so many things for his sake, his heart was truly moved. He had never imagined that one day he would share the same attitude with his wife. In the past, whatever he did always seemed to cause her great pain because in her eyes, everything he did was wrong.

But today he realized that his years of effort were not in vain. Dong Liu’s efforts were not unknown to his wife; she simply pretended not to see them. She had silently borne everything on her own, and now she couldn’t help but show it.

”Wife, no matter what you think, I just want to tell you that my decision will never change. Since I made the choice to stay by your side, I will certainly stay by your side no matter what, even if you try to drive me away outside, I won’t leave!”

All these years we have been dependent on each other, living together for so many years. Don’t you have a little bit of love for me in your heart? If you don’t love me, why care about me, why worry I might be hurt so much?

You just don’t dare to believe in yourself. You’re scared to face your own heart.

Because he has a place in your life, you fear that you feel guilty for having what you have with him, but do you realize that so many years have passed and even if you meet again, can you go back to the way you were? The past has become the past; shouldn’t you cherish spending time with me now and live your life well? Isn’t that more important to you?

If you keep clinging to the past, neither of us will be happy. Happiness in life is really simple; just having loved ones by one’s side, having enough to live on, and being able to freely live the life one wants, that’s the greatest happiness. And you are the greatest happiness I have in this lifetime.

Don’t think these words I’m saying to you are just sweet nothings. Every word I say is from the heart. I truly want to be with you, and this sincerity has never changed. I yearn over and over again, dreaming how happy and joyful I would be if I could be with you. Now that the day has finally come, why after so many years must you tell me such a cruel reality?

Seeing me so heartbroken, can you truly be happy? You know how conflicted and anguished I am inside, yet you firmly decided to tell me this outcome.

I know that although you’ve told me this result, you just want to be honest with me. But do you realize that your impulsive decisions are causing us both to suffer different consequences?”

”Yes, I hope you’ll stop saying certain things, no matter what. There really isn’t any relationship or possibility for us to be together. If you really hope that one-day I can accept you, then you better let go of that wish. I’ve said that I would try Slowly with you, and I must admit that deep down, I’m truly conflicted because of you.

You’re right; I do think that by being with you, I’d be betraying him, but do you know how much torment this thought brings me? My conflicts grow with each passing moment. I don’t know what choice is the right one. I want a stable life with you, but I can’t betray him!”

”Actually, from the day you married me, you were already betraying her. Why bother saying these words now? What’s the point? By saying and doing this, can he come back to you? Not at all!

Time and again, you deceive yourself to numb your feelings. Ask yourself, is this really making you happy? It’s clear what kind of life you want, yet you don’t know what you should do!

Perhaps you think my demands are too harsh, but you don’t know this is the sincerest confession from the depths of my heart, which is why I tell you these things without reservation!

I just want to share my truest thoughts with you, to have you stay by my side and share the happiness and life we both want. No more constant quarrels like before, no more arguing over disagreements. Living that way is so exhausting. Why complicate a relationship that could be simple and happy?”

Xia Jing really didn’t know what to say. Whatever she said, in her husband’s eyes, she was just rationalizing. To him, everything she did or said was wrong.

Suddenly, she felt so tired of interacting with her husband because everything she said was wrong. What was the point of them being together like this? It might be better to just separate early.

Zhang Zhentian was afraid that his wife would say something rejecting, so he looked at her with longing eyes again and again, hoping she would leave some space between them and not be so final. All he wanted was to stay by her side—why keep rejecting him? After rejecting him, would she really be happy?

Would staying by his side really make his wife feel so distressed and lacking in confidence? The repeated hurts were becoming a torment to him.

”You don’t have to tell me anything. Just stay here peacefully. I just want to tell you that whatever decision you make, I’ll support you. But at the very least, please respect my wishes too, because I feel the pain too!”
