My Alleged Husband

Chapter 792: Chapter 761 Signs of Awakening_1

Zhang Yichen really struggled to hear his mother articulate such an understanding of him from her own lips. He knew his mother had always understood him and cared for him, but he never dared to ask why, as if she truly had her reasons and was helpless at the time. Yet, for so many years, she had never offered an explanation.

Did he really not deserve even a word of explanation from her? Just a simple explanation would have lessened the hatred in the depths of his heart, but she never once thought to offer one. Perhaps in her heart, he wasn’t worth an explanation.

In Yichen’s heart, he felt that no matter what, he was never significant enough in his mother’s heart. If she truly regarded him as her own son from the depths of her heart and felt genuine guilt about it, then why did she return only to withhold any explanation? An explanation wouldn’t take much time—it was merely a matter of moving her lips, but she never entertained such a thought.

Perhaps his mother still felt even now that she didn’t know how to explain things to him.

Over and over again, Zhang Yichen comforted himself, knowing he really couldn’t do anything about these matters. What he wanted now was just for his family to be safe, for his father to wake up, and to have his mother by his side. Whether his mother could provide a reasonable explanation was not at all important to him. As long as she could live happily, that was better than anything to him.

Xiao Wei seemed to realize what his nephew was thinking deep down. Maybe he truly understood. As a child abandoned by his mother for so many years, was it really possible to forgive her without hesitation if she didn’t even offer an explanation? However, the reality was not so simple.

”Sister, you left Yichen so many years ago, and now your son has chosen to forgive you without reservation. Don’t you think you owe him an explanation about why you chose to abandon him? Such a small child, who could bear it? I can’t believe you could abandon your own son and feel nothing inside. What kind of hardship compelled you to make such a heartless decision back then?

Some things can’t be ignored as if they never happened. Perhaps only by speaking out and truly clearing up misunderstandings can a different outcome emerge. If you keep burying everything inside you, when do you think these matters can be resolved?

Actually, I can see that even if he doesn’t say anything, deep down he still hopes to get an explanation from his mother. Even if that explanation is just a lie, just to make him feel a little better, he would regard those words as his mother’s love for him!

Of course, I know everyone perceives a mother’s love differently, but I believe it should be expressed in this way. If you keep avoiding repeatedly, then I really don’t know what the point of being together is. Even if you live together, what’s the point? With unresolved misunderstandings under the same roof, do you think this way of living together is meaningful?

My dear sister, there are times when things need to be made clear, and if you continue to avoid them, there will be no way to clear up these misunderstandings. Today is the best opportunity, isn’t it? Why even now, do you choose to stick to the real reasons you had to leave back then? Speaking out won’t leave you without support; everyone will understand you. If you continue to conceal the truth, it will only make others recall these issues and think you always have something on your mind, preferring to bear it alone rather than share it with others.”
