The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 790: Chapter 790: The pot calling the kettle black

As soon as Princess Consort Min left, Consort Ji began her unrestrained antics, blatantly insolent and arrogant, completely disregarding the Imperial Concubine.

Princess Consort Ji, annoyed by her words, said with a darkened face, ”Shut your mouth!”

Consort Ji was taken aback, feeling somewhat aggrieved.

”Aunt, I’m just speaking up for you! Yet you scold me.”

”It’s not your place to speak up for me. She has her duties, and so do you. The greatest filial piety you can show me is to give me a grandson as soon as possible,” Consort Ji said irritably.

Consort Ji felt a bit depressed upon hearing this and muttered, ”I would like to conceive, but if the Prince doesn’t come to my chambers, how can I conceive alone?”

”That’s your problem. Back then, you had the ability to make him keep you, but now that you’re married, that ability is gone? I can’t help you with this. If Fang gets pregnant before you, there’s nothing I can do.”

At the mention of Consort Fang, Consort Ji gritted her teeth in anger. Fang always prided herself on her scholarly family background and often belittled her. The two competed fiercely for power in the mansion, fighting tooth and nail.

”Aunt, you must have a way to secretly make her take contraceptives...”

Princess Consort Ji turned her gaze toward her and glared fiercely.

Consort Ji turned pale with fright, stepped back, and knelt: ”Aunt.”

”You’d better abandon that thought at once. I don’t care how you fight or compete, I may even favor you, but when it comes to offspring, stop those crooked thoughts,” Princess Consort Ji said grimly. ”In the Prince Mansion, Ze’er is one of only two children of the next generation, and only one male, whose mother is just a concubine, for which Ze’er has unknowingly been subject to much gossip.”

”With a Princess Consort in the mansion, the matter of offspring must wait. We can only look to you two concubines. If you have the capability to give birth to a son first, given the order of birth, I can register him under the Official Wife’s name, which would elevate his status. However, neither you nor Fang can harm the children; they are the foundation of the Prince Min Mansion.”

Princess Consort Ji thought like most women of the world, believing that the family’s legacy could only be inherited by men.

The Prince Min Mansion was no exception. Without male heirs, no matter how great the family fortune, it would end up with outsiders.

So they must have grandsons — one was not enough; they needed a few more. Hence, Consort Ji’s ideas were dangerous.

Princess Consort Ji gave Consort Ji a sideways look and warned, ”Don’t do anything I don’t want to see. If you cross the line, I’ll send you back to the Ji Family. In this world, releasing a concubine is as simple as a piece of paper.”

Consort Ji was somewhat frightened, her expression as if she’d lost a parent, hurriedly pledging loyalty and begging for mercy, ”Aunt, I don’t intend to harm her, just want to get pregnant before she does. If you’re not pleased, then forget it.”

”Each must rely on their abilities to bear children. What makes you so sure you’ll have a son?” Princess Consort Ji glanced at her belly, appearing unconcerned.

Consort Ji suddenly felt a bit chilled, but she also recognized a fact: although she called her aunt, she wasn’t of utmost importance, not even compared to offspring.

How realistic.

Princess Consort Ji, however, thought, even though she didn’t want to admit it, reality reminded her that the upbringing of the Ji Family genuinely couldn’t compare to those of true nobility. The daughters were raised with petty airs; matching one with Ze’er seemed somewhat rash.

It wronged her son.

When she has a son in the future, she must not let her educate him to avoid ruining the foundation.

But at this moment, Princess Consort Ji couldn’t think of the saying, it’s like ”the pot calling the kettle black,” as she herself wasn’t much better.
