The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 767: Chapter 767: Killing Time by Starting a Quarrel

Dancing on the dragon boat literally means dancing atop a dragon boat.

Song Ci looked carefully, and upon seeing the figurines and attire of the dancers, couldn’t help but want to whistle.

Such bold and daring attire!

The exotic belly-baring summer wear was nothing short of tantalizing, reaching down to the abdomen. The beauty of their abs was absolutely stunning. Most mesmerizing was the flower painted right by their navels, captivating all eyes. Her arms were bare, adorned with arm bracelets, while her legs were bare down to her ankles with anklets jingling, revealing snow-white feet.

Oh my, only dancers would dare to dress like this. Were it ordinary families and nobility, they would surely scorn it as immoral and obscene, especially those so-called sages, the pedantic old-fashioned prudes.

Ahem, better not ridicule the ancients, after all, different times.

Nevertheless, after such a flashy dance, many people were likely blushing and eager for action.

Song Ci lecherously glanced around, and sure enough, some women were already using their fans to cover their faces, cheeks flushed, yet peeking secretly.

As for the men, some pretended to be proper while their eyes couldn’t help but wander to the dragon boat, while others openly admired the view.

A subtle commotion came from behind her; she turned slightly to see Mrs. Jiang twisting Song Zhicheng’s ear.

Mrs. Jiang’s hand stiffened, retracting as if electrocuted, her expression sheepish.

Song Zhicheng grinned complacently, found an excuse, and escaped to relieve himself.

Song Ci smirked slightly, excusing her indecency, thinking of how many new tricks would unfold in the chambers tonight.

Alas, another day of oblivious propagation unrelated to her.

She watched the dancers moving to the beat of the stirring drums, twirling and leaping, drawing cheers with each move.

Thud.

One dancer wrapped her arm around a long ribbon and leaped strikingly towards the drum, blending softness and strength, winning countless applause.

Song Ci paused, what was that movie with the famous international actress dancing and drumming?

A perfect déjà vu of that dance.

”I heard this dance troupe is from Changsheng Square, I wonder how it compares to the ones Madam Song keeps?”

A female voice came from the neighboring area, filled with undisguised malice.

Song Ci looked over; it was Prime Minister Fan’s wife speaking, watching her lazily with an amused expression.

Oh, seeking trouble, are we?

Song Ci looked around; some madams were no longer watching the dance, deeming it improper, opting instead to enjoy the impending clash between the two families.

Truth be told, Madam Fan was actually not much older than Song Ci, but the difference in rank was significant. After all, Prime Minister Fan’s age placed her a senior position, topped with an Old Madam of the same generation as Song Ci.

In terms of the Imperial Decree, Madam Fan and Song Ci’s eldest daughter-in-law were of the same status, both being the wives of the Prime Ministers.

Song Ci smiled: ”I thought Madam Fan would surely know best.”

Here we go, the drama begins.

Madam Fan’s face turned a shade of green, yet maintained a dignified smile, saying, ”You must be joking, Madam Song. I truly do not understand what you mean, since it’s your own kept dancers. How would I know?”

Song Ci was surprised: ”Oh, could it be I’m getting old and confused? Isn’t it you? Then was it your eldest daughter-in-law? Those dancers were a gift to our Old Master from President Ning of the Chamber of Commerce, and I heard President Ning is your eldest daughter-in-law’s brother-in-law’s brother-in-law. She should know a thing or two.”

What, there’s such a connection?

The gossiping listeners felt like they’d uncovered some sensational conspiracy.
