The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 763: Chapter 763 The Epitome of Tea Flavor

The Princess Consort Min looked at Song Ci, holding a perfectly measured smile, slightly nodding, more appropriate than Song Ci, more composed than Song Ci, more pretentious than Song Ci.

Song Ci: ”...”

Feels like her top spot is shaky, this one is the real Oscar-winning actress, look at those manners, that act, as if carved from a template.

”Mistress, that’s the Song Family’s old Madam, I heard she singlehandedly took care of all the skinny horses the old Master Song gave her sons; she’s truly formidable.” Wan Chun whispered gossip to the Princess Consort Min, her eyes gleaming like the jewels displayed in the Xiazhi Foreign Trading Company, blinding.

The Princess Consort Min withdrew her gaze and said, ”Don’t speak of others behind their backs, this is not the Prince Mansion here, it’s not good to be overheard.”

Wan Chun stuck out her tongue: ”I was just curious, the maids in the mansion always talk about this one’s deeds. Oh, and I heard she gave our Dowager several secret losses, quite formidable. I would really like to see the Dowager face off against her, it would be quite a scene.”

The Princess Consort Min replied, ”Those with backing are naturally fearless.”

Song Ci’s backing is none other than Empress Dowager Wang and the Emperor, while the Dowager is the person Empress Dowager Wang dislikes the most, given she was the favored concubine of the late Emperor.

”Even those with backing aren’t all as confrontational as her; when it comes down to it, her toughness is probably because she has her son for support.” Wan Chun sighed.

She glanced at her own mistress, feeling a bit more forlorn and somber, if only the mistress had a son, life wouldn’t be so hard, so resigned.

The Princess Consort Min paused her action of pressing the corner of her mouth with a handkerchief and gave a faint ”hmm.”

The mother of the current Prime Minister is indeed confident.

Wan Chun dared not continue with this topic, to avoid evoking the Princess Consort Min’s sorrow, instead she laughed, ”Mistress, it’s rare to be out, we should enjoy ourselves today.”

”Hmm.” The Princess Consort Min’s eyes also held a hint of anticipation, she rarely participated in such events.

On the other side, Song Ci was also asking Princess Anping, why the Princess Consort Min was here too; she thought with her awkward status, she would stay hidden in the Prince Mansion in quietude.

Princess Anping glanced toward where the Princess Consort Min was, and said, ”At such grand events, almost every family and mansion attends, since the Prince Min Mansion now has a real mistress, of course they’ll be present. If they only let concubines and maids appear, they’d be laughed at. Besides, now that she’s the Princess Consort Min, she represents the Prince Min Mansion, so attendance is necessary.”

”True, but surprisingly the Dowager didn’t attend. She shouldn’t miss such a spectacle.” Song Ci surveyed the surroundings, not seeing Princess Consort Ji.

Princess Anping said gleefully: ”She was supposed to come, but I heard a centipede got into her room last night, and her mouth got bitten, leaving a big swelling.”

Song Ci was a bit astonished: ”A centipede? That’s strange, it’s already Dragon Boat Festival, the Five Poison Fragrance Bag should have been prepared.”

Princess Anping leisurely remarked: ”Must be bad luck?”

Song Ci: ”...”

Do you know you might get beaten up for saying that?

”Truly unfortunate, such a pity, and such an event she can’t attend.” Song Ci played along, her expression full of regret and sympathy.

Princess Anping: ”Isn’t it indeed, truly unfortunate.”

Mouths sighing in regret, hearts rejoicing with glee.

Nanny Gong and the personal nanny beside the Princess exchanged a glance, do you know the new word we’ve learned from the old Madam recently?

What?

Tea-drinking essence.

These two are the epitome of tea-drinking essence, aren’t they?
