The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 762: Chapter 762: A Fake Respect Only Deserves a Fake Smile in Return

Song Ci walked towards her seat while showing a polite smile to the various Madams who greeted her but whose names she couldn’t recall, making her appear as her name suggests, very kind and gentle.

When Nanny saw the curve of her mouth rise once again, she couldn’t help but murmur, ”In fact, you could very much ignore them arrogantly, this kind of smile makes you seem particularly fake.”

It looks exhausting.

Song Ci said, ”People, aren’t we all living with masks? Just think of them as genuinely eager to greet me, it’s all superficial respect.”

Nanny curled her lips a bit, truly, there was no one more clear-headed than the one by her side.

But Song Ci looked at the golden throne and said, ”I wonder which Concubine the Emperor will bring out to watch the dragon boat race.”

She glanced around again, good heavens, have they transferred the entire capital’s military here? Guards every three steps, even an assassin would find it hard to fly in.

Indeed, it’s the high prestige only when the Emperor arrives.

”Madam Song.”

Song Ci looked over, showing a sincere smile on her face.

Nanny shed a tear of sympathy for those Madams who only deserved a fake smile.

Not everyone can earn a sincere smile from Madam.

Song Ci and the approaching figure nodded to each other as a sign of etiquette, while those behind, like Mrs. Jiang and Mrs. Lu, respectfully saluted the other.

”Greetings, Princess Anping.”

”Rise, no need for formalities.” Princess Anping smiled faintly, raising her hand slightly.

Everyone stood up, and Anping’s eyes lit up when she saw the fragrant and tender little girl in the arms of the nurse next to Mrs. Jiang.

”Is this your little granddaughter, Madam? It’s the first time I’ve seen her.”

Song Ci said, ”She is the little darling of our second child, the fourth girl in the family, with a fifth below her. Yuanyuan, you should also greet the Princess.”

Mrs. Jiang took her daughter from the nurse and placed her on the ground.

The little girl placed her hand on her waist and stumbled as she bowed, ”Princess, Yuan... greet.”

Princess Anping’s heart melted, and she couldn’t help but pick up the child, ”Oh my, this little treasure looks like a New Year painting doll, so young yet knows how to greet.”

Mrs. Jiang smiled and said, ”Reply to the Princess, she just turned a year in April, her speech is not clear, she was taught the etiquette, but learning is incomplete. She is heavy, don’t tire yourself holding her, let the common folk like me hold her instead.”

Princess Anping chided, ”Here is such a young child, how complete can she be? Little girls are soft, don’t be too harsh on them.”

She gave the child back to Mrs. Jiang, and casually took off a string of Southern Pearl from around her neck and put it on Yuanyuan’s neck, saying, ”I didn’t expect her to come out, and didn’t prepare any meeting gift, let her wear these beads for fun.”

Mrs. Jiang was quite apprehensive, ”Princess, this is too precious.”

”What money is a string of beads worth?” Princess Anping pressed her hand, lightly pinched Yuanyuan’s cheek and said, ”This child is delightful and fated with me, I just feel affectionate looking at her.”

Mrs. Lu smiled quietly on the side, feeling somewhat envious in her heart.

But it was Yuanyuan’s first time meeting the Princess, so it’s not unusual to receive a meeting gift. Back in the day, when Wei’er met the Princess for the first time, she received a bracelet, though not as valuable as this string of thumb-sized Southern Pearls.

Princess Anping then asked someone to fetch a few wallets, distributing them to Song Ruwei and a few boys, and then took Song Ci to sit in her place, intending to chat with her for a while.

Song Ci felt a gaze on her, looked over, and saw Princess Consort Min sitting at the Prince Mansion’s seat, looking over, causing her to pause, and then she nodded her head.
