The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 688: Chapter 688: A Plastic Tea Friendship Plate

Although Song Ci thought the situation was predictable, she preferred not to believe it was that simple; just earlier, she and Princess Anping were gossiping at the teahouse, and now they ran into them?

Tsk, it turns out it’s not good to talk about people behind their backs; once you start, they immediately head your way.

Upon seeing Song Ci and Princess Anping, Princess Consort Ji’s group had only one thought: It’s you again!

Given their previous encounters with Song Ci’s acerbic tongue, Princess Consort Ji and her companions didn’t actually want to confront her. They weren’t afraid of much else, just that they might inadvertently have to drink another bitter cup of poison brewed by her.

Song Ci’s words are truly toxic!

However, Princess Consort Ji’s status did not allow her to retreat. So what if Song Ci is a top-tier Madam; she’s still an Imperial Concubine. In terms of status, naturally, hers was more esteemed.

Thinking this, Princess Consort Ji lifted her head and puffed out her chest, like a proud old hen.

This prideful stance lasted less than two seconds before her expression collapsed, because Song Ci simply nodded and smiled mildly at her, addressing her as Dowager.

Where’s the courtesy?

Ah, forgot, this old fox had cultivated that potato thing, which delighted the Emperor, and granted her a special privilege — exempting Madam Song from having to bow. And here she was, evidently putting this privilege to use.

Princess Consort Ji felt annoyed; at times like this, she missed the late Emperor incredibly. If the old man were still around, why would she have to endure such grievance?

Oh, late Emperor, you passed too soon!

The deceased are gone, and wishing is in vain; battles must be fought personally.

Holding her posture, Princess Consort Ji said with a false smile, ”I wondered who had such pomp that this foreign firm would block my way, and it turns out it’s Madam Song and you, Anping.”

The shopkeeper Meniang: ”...”

The common woman didn’t say anything nor dared to block!

Song Ci pulled Princess Anping a step forward, smiling as she said, ”Dowager, you flatter this old body too much. I’m just an old woman nearing the end of her days; where would I get such majesty? It is thanks to Princess Anping’s noble status and the shopkeeper’s thoughtfulness that the place was cleared. This old body is merely basking in reflected glory, not deserving of Dowager’s praise.”

Princess Anping looked at her, having just shared tea and gossip, yet now being pushed forward to take the blow?

So this is the kind of person Madam Song is!

Song Ci smiled broadly, a plastic tea friendship platter!

Princess Anping laughed, ”Who in the entire Capital would dare to stop Dowager? I reckon they don’t want to stay in business in the Capital. Instead of saying blocking, it’s more like welcoming you, Dowager.”

As expected of a Princess, her words are skillful and she has high emotional intelligence.

Song Ci gave Anping a thumbs up.

Meniang gracefully stepped forward, bowed to the group, and said, ”The Princess speaks the truth. I am here to warmly welcome you noble guests to grace our humble shop. Would you care to move inside to taste some tea?”

Song Ci replied, ”Haven’t seen you in a while, Meniang, you seem even more charming and beautiful, showing that these days have been prosperous for you.”

Meniang touched her face, flattered, and exclaimed, ”It’s an honor that Madam Song still remembers me; I am truly honored. Observing Your Grace, you seem more energetic, experiencing joyous events indeed revitalizes the spirit.”

The Song Family has indeed had a string of joyous occasions in the past year or two, especially with the addition of descendants. It is well-known that Song Lao San returned with a pair of dragon and phoenix twins, and Commandery Princess Dongyang is about to give birth, plus Song Madam is also expecting. These are all pieces of news too big to hide.

So saying ’joyous events bring spirited energy’ is indeed fitting.

But someone couldn’t help but want to add trouble for Song Ci.

”The shopkeeper spoke wrongly. I heard that Madam Song’s second granddaughter had a miscarriage just last year, what kind of joyous event is that?”
