The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 652: Chapter 652: Further Guidance

Su Qing is dead.

Song Ruqi, pale-faced, leaned back against the bed, her eyes filled with bewilderment and daze.

Outside, the sky had already darkened.

As Song Ci said, the culprit who caused her to fall down the stairs was found, but what about the truth of the bracelet hiding the medicine?

No result.

Madam Song and the others had to hold back and prepare to return to the mansion.

Song Ruqi held Madam Song’s hand and asked mournfully, ”Mother, can’t you stay and accompany me? I’m scared!”

Madam Song, feeling heartbroken, said: ”Don’t listen to that wicked maid’s words. She’s deliberately making you restless so that you can’t recuperate properly. If you take it to heart, you’ll fall right into her trap.”

”But what if it’s true?”

Finding the person hidden in the shadows left her uneasy.

Song Ci said: ”The truth won’t be hidden forever. If something has been done, it will always leave traces. You’ll have to investigate secretly on your own. Qi’er, we are ultimately just your mother’s family and not people from the Duke Mansion. No matter how willing, we can’t investigate here. We can only support you.”

Madam Song nodded: ”That’s right. Qi’er, you need to pull yourself together. Taking care of your health is key. Your grandmother, despite her age, couldn’t rest easy and came to the Duke Mansion herself to support you. You must not indulge in self-pity, or you’ll break her heart.”

Song Ruqi looked over. Song Ci was getting old. Staying here for just one day had already made her look tired, but she was holding on.

Touched, she nodded and said: ”Grandmother, thank you.”

”There’s no need for thanks among family,” Song Ci said. ”Listen to your mother’s words, take care of yourself. As for Su Qing’s matter, since she’s already dead, let it rest for now, and don’t bring it up with your husband during this period.”

Song Ruqi was stunned.

”If you’re scared, let him come to accompany you. Tell him about your sorrow and fears. Mention the child a few times, but not endlessly, understand?”

Seeing her seriousness, Song Ruqi was in a daze.

”If you want a good future, listen to your grandmother. I won’t harm you. Su Qing died tragically in front of your husband. Whether innocent or not, there’s bound to be a dilemma in his heart. Don’t be angry, listen to me.” Song Ci raised her hand and shook her head: ”People can’t remain entirely indifferent. Su Qing was his wet nurse’s daughter, and their bond was unusual. From the fact he allowed her to return to serve, you can see a hint.”

”He personally instructed to prepare the abortion pill for her, which shows guilt. After all, the child in her womb was his seed, yet he personally aborted it. That’s not all; he even watched Su Qing die before him. How could he not feel guilty?”

Madam Song wanted to say something but tightly pressed her lips together.

”Men are always affectionate. She was someone who grew up with him, cared for him, and even bore his child. Now she’s dead. If he were truly heartless and cold, I would be worried for you. So don’t be willful. For your future, no matter how wronged you feel, hold your temper.”

Song Ci tucked her hair behind her ear and sighed: ”Qi’er, learn from this painful experience. You should mature now and always be vigilant.”

Song Ruqi began to cry.

”After crying it out, stop your tears. Life must go on. Rest assured, the Song Family is your strongest backing. No one can bully you.”

Song Ruqi nodded with tears in her eyes.

Madam Song also wiped her tears, stood up, and prepared to leave.

Song Ci thought for a moment, leaned close to Song Ruqi’s ear, and whispered: ”Be wary of the Second Madam.”

Song Ruqi was startled: ”Grandmother?”

”It’s always wise to be cautious. There’s no harm in being wary, even of the Heir’s wife,” Song Ci paused and said: ”Even your mother-in-law too. Keep your trust to seventy percent when dealing with people, and leave thirty percent of clarity for yourself to see their true intentions.”

Song Ruqi was left unsettled.
