The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 660: Chapter 660: Mixed Feelings

Song Ci came to Madam’s bedside, took a look, and was taken aback.

Her complexion was as pale as when she saw Song Ruqi that day, even if she fainted from anger, it shouldn’t be this pale, right?

”Lin Qing, quickly check on her.” Song Ci stepped aside.

Lin Qing came forward, and upon seeing Madam’s appearance, was also momentarily stunned; it was too pallid.

She hurriedly asked Asang to fetch a medical pillow, placed Madam on it, and placed her fingers on her pulse. Upon checking, her expression turned a bit strange, so she tried with her other hand.

Song Ci watched anxiously on the side, worried that it might be some terminal illness similar to what the unfortunate Gu family had suffered.

The nursemaid was even more anxious, fearing that Madam would never recover from this.

Lin Qing withdrew her hand, with her brows slightly furrowed.

Song Ci asked anxiously, ”How is it? What’s wrong with her?”

”Madam, don’t worry, it’s a mix of good and bad news.”

Song Ci: ”???”

Lin Qing looked at the nursemaid and asked, ”Nursemaid, may I ask how long it has been since Madam had changed?”

Huh?

The nursemaid was slightly stunned.

Song Ci was also bewildered. Changed? What does that mean? Wait, changed? Does it mean her menstruation?

The nursemaid came to her senses, counted with her fingers, and then clapped her hands forcefully, ”Oh dear, my memory is failing me. Madam hasn’t changed for nearly ten days. I just remembered yesterday and was about to remind her, but I forgot when I turned around.”

”If that’s the case, it should be correct.”

Song Ci’s eyes brightened slightly, ”What, are you saying the Gu family is expecting?”

She gestured a large belly with her hands.

Lin Qing smiled, ”That’s your esteemed grandchild, how could you call it stuffing?”

Song Ci exclaimed, this was indeed good news among recent events.

The nursemaid was also filled with joy and asked, ”Doctor Lin, are you saying our Madam is with child?”

Lin Qing nodded, ”It’s a slippery pulse, but don’t rejoice too early.”

Everyone’s hearts skipped a beat.

Song Ci’s smile faded, ”Why, is the pregnancy unstable?”

”Madam is already of advanced age, and it’s actually a bit inappropriate timing for pregnancy. Her emotional turmoil affects the fetus, not to mention she was agitated just now; the fetus is extremely unstable.” Lin Qing looked at the nursemaid and said, ”You who attend her closely can check her clothes for any blood.”

The nursemaid’s pupils contracted, and she hurriedly called in the maid Peony, asking if there was any stain on Madam’s underpants.

”Yes, in the morning, when Madam went to the bathroom, there was some blood. We thought it was her menstruation.” Peony was also somewhat flustered.

”Doctor Lin, you must ensure our Madam carries this child to term.” The nursemaid and others knelt down.

Song Ci said, ”She’s been hoping for this child for quite some time, Lin Qing, do your best to help preserve it.”

”I’ll do my best, but I can’t guarantee it’ll be successful. There’s already bleeding, an indication of a miscarriage; she’ll have to stay in bed for the upcoming months.” Lin Qing agreed, took out silver needles, and applied them to several acupuncture points on Madam.

Madam opened her eyes, her consciousness gradually returning, and she looked terrified, ”Prime Minister, how is the Prime Minister? Oh... my stomach hurts so much.”

She clutched her stomach, a pained expression on her face.

Seeing this, Lin Qing immediately said, ”Madam, don’t worry, I’ll administer acupuncture for you.”

Song Ci also said, ”The elder is fine, just slightly injured, no need to worry about him. But you, there’s a big issue; take a deep breath, then exhale.”

He’s fine?

Madam felt assured at heart, yet a word from the nursemaid left her mind blank.

What came? Are you fooling me!
