The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 666: Chapter 666: Super Green Tea Super Bitch

The Emperor bestowed a marriage, and Xin Wang was so moved that he burst into tears, prostrating himself on the ground with sincere gratitude, then looking at Prince Min with deep emotion, as if to say—

Big brother, my grand-niece will rely on you from now on!

Prince Min: ”...”

Emperor Chu observed the expressions of the two below, his eyes glimmering slightly, the corners of his lips faintly rising.

After the court session, Yangxin Hall.

Emperor Chu directly handed the imperial decree bestowing marriage to Prince Min: ”You still have the chance to refuse the decree now.”

A look of the Emperor being very approachable.

Super two-faced, super hypocritical.

Prince Min: I trusted your nonsense, as if!

He respectfully accepted it, kneeling down to express gratitude.

”It’s a grievance for you.” Emperor Chu helped him up, saying: ”Before the late Emperor passed away, he instructed me to comfort the heir of the Crown Prince of the Xia Dynasty, to ease the heart of the Xia clan and the people.”

Prince Min asked somewhat perplexed: ”Does the imperial brother believe the people still remain loyal to the Xia Dynasty?”

Emperor Chu chuckled: ”Do you think so?”

Prince Min fell silent.

”The common people do not care who sits on the dragon throne, they only care whether they can live peacefully and prosperously, whether they can have enough food and warm clothing, and not daily worry about being exploited by landlords or by officials with various taxes and levies forcing them to sell their children.”

Prince Min pursed his lips, listening silently.

”The Xia Dynasty fell because it was already decayed, rotten to its roots, with corrupt officials who were unprogressive but relentlessly exploited the people, causing them to be miserable and sparking popular resentment, leading to the rise of various feudal lords and righteous knights.” Emperor Chu said calmly: ”Otherwise, who in a time of prosperity would have nothing better to do than rebel and go to war?”

”Reassuring the people is to show our Great Qing’s benevolence and tolerance, not a person of random slaughter and wantonness, otherwise, how would the clan of Xia survive until now.”

Prince Min was silent for a while, then said: ”If I may speak without respect, if the Commandery Princess were a man, would you also allow him to survive?”

Emperor Chu turned and asked in return: ”If it were you, would you allow it?”

Prince Min was stunned; he would not!

”If she were a man, a simple and honest commoner, what harm to let him survive? But if he covets what he shouldn’t, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”

”If so, are you not afraid he would bide his time and seize the opportunity to rise again?” Prince Min raised his eyebrows and asked: ”I heard there are still remnants of the Xia Dynasty wanting to rise again now.”

Emperor Chu laughed, saying: ”Brother Ze, there is no eternal dynasty; a country will have its day when its fortunes run out. It’s just a matter of time; the Xia Country is an example. It existed for two hundred years, once a universally acclaimed great kingdom, but why did it fall to the Qing Country? It was time and fate; its national fortunes had dissipated, its imperial aura had scattered, and so they were defeated.”

He turned his back, saying: ”I don’t dare guarantee that the Qing Country will be remembered for centuries; I only hope to govern well in my lifetime and pass it on to the next generation of emperors, generation after generation. As for whether the Qing Country will become history like the Xia Country after many years, that’s not something I can control.”

”So regarding your question, I’m not afraid of it. If he is honest and simple, I’ll rear him and educate him over time. Eventually, one generation will forget their roots and their former nobility, and that is what is truly frightening. If he wishes to rise again, bringing chaos, and dragging the people back into the abyss of suffering, then I’m not afraid to fight him.” Emperor Chu turned his face to look at him, saying: ”Throughout history, the victor is king and the loser a bandit. When Father raised the banner to found the country, would I fear mere remnants of the Xia clan?”

Prince Min curled his lips and bowed with cupped hands: ”Long live My King.”
