The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 667: Chapter 667: What I Did Was Rather Unkind

After that ’heart-to-heart’ conversation with Prince Min, Emperor Chu perhaps felt that his granting of this marriage wasn’t very proper, so he granted another concubine — a Noble Lady from Grandmaster Fang’s family, fifteen years old, just the right age.

Clearly, it’s a slap followed by a sweet date, that’s the power of an Emperor, and you can only accept it.

Prince Min indeed accepted it stoically, kneeled to acknowledge the decree, and then withdrew.

Emperor Chu watched his figure disappear at the palace door, eyes deep, and suddenly said: ”Eunuch Zhou, do you think Prince Min is cursing me in his heart?”

Eunuch Zhou was so startled his hand trembled, and the tea bowl nearly fell.

”Your Majesty, both thunder and dew are manifestations of the Emperor’s grace, how could Prince Min dare to disrespect you?”

Really frightened the eunuch, what are you saying, are you cursing yourself?

Emperor Chu chuckled, ”I think he’s currently cursing me in his heart.”

Eunuch Zhou was surprised, ”Why does Your Majesty say that?”

Could it be that you can communicate with spirits and immortals?

Emperor Chu: ”I feel my ears burning, who else could it be if not him cursing? After all, granting a marriage like this isn’t benevolent, it does attract curses!”

Eunuch Zhou: ”...”

Everything is what You’ve said, this servant has no words to respond with.

Emperor Chu changed the subject: ”Has Imperial Physician Li arrived?”

Eunuch Zhou promptly replied: ”He’s already waiting in the side hall for Your Majesty’s summons.”

”Summon him.”

Eunuch Zhou waved the horsetail whisk, ”Summon Imperial Physician Li.”

Before long, an elderly Imperial Physician entered with a stooped posture, the same one who had treated Song Zhiyuan in the morning.

”This humble servant greets Your Majesty.”

”Rise.” Emperor Chu raised his hand and asked, ”You went to see Prime Minister Song for a diagnosis, how is his injury?”

Imperial Physician Li cupped his hands and replied, ”Reporting to Your Majesty, Prime Minister Song’s left upper arm was injured by a stray arrow, the arrowhead was barbed, luckily it wasn’t poisoned, though it took away a small piece of flesh, it didn’t damage his muscles and tendons, it’s truly fortunate. As long as he rests for a few days, he will recover and it won’t impede his daily use of the arm.”

Emperor Chu breathed a sigh of relief.

”How is Prime Minister Song’s condition?”

”Besides a slight paleness from some blood loss, there are no major issues, this humble servant has prescribed some medicine to replenish his blood.”

”Very good, since you went to treat him, you will continue to change his medicine in the future, make sure to help Prime Minister Song recover quickly and return to normal.”

Imperial Physician Li knelt on the ground to receive the decree: ”This humble servant obeys the decree.”

Just as Emperor Chu was about to dismiss him, Imperial Physician Li mentioned that Madam Song was pregnant but due to being frightened, her pregnancy was affected, showing signs of a threatened miscarriage.

Emperor Chu frowned, indicating he understood.

After Imperial Physician Li withdrew, Eunuch Zhou stepped forward and said, ”Your Majesty can rest assured now that Prime Minister Song is safe and sound.”

”Hmm.” Emperor Chu said, ”Later, go to the treasury, personally select some tonic herbs and reward them to the Prime Minister’s Mansion, visit on my behalf, if the injury is too severe, I permit him to take a two-day leave. Also, go to the Imperial Hospital and issue my decree for Imperial Physician Liu to make a trip to the Prime Minister’s Mansion to treat and stabilize Madam Song’s pregnancy.”

Eunuch Zhou agreed with a smile, saying: ”Your Majesty is exceedingly considerate of Prime Minister Song, and consequently, his family as well out of love for him.”

Which minister is bestowed such favor as he?

”Yunzhi is my pillar minister, indispensable to me.” Emperor Chu said as he opened a memorial, ”His legitimate son is his only child, I heard his wife is keen to have another, now that she is pregnant, if it can’t be preserved, he’ll surely be distressed.”

”What Your Majesty says is true.”

”Go arrange it.”

”Yes.”

Before long, Eunuch Zhou led two young angels and Imperial Physician Liu, carrying a cart of rewards to the Prime Minister’s Mansion, visiting on behalf of the Emperor, causing quite a stir in the capital.
