The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 674: Chapter 674: Showing Off the Emperor’s Majesty to Intimidate Retreat

Princess Consort Ji couldn’t cry for long because that Empress Dowager Wang truly made people serve tea and seeds, watching her performance while leisurely snacking, which was infuriating.

She was already plump, and in her rage, her cheeks puffed out like a goldfish’s gills, glaring at Empress Dowager Wang with a gaze that almost turned into poisonous arrows.

”Oh, stopped crying? Is your throat hoarse? Lian Qiao, quickly serve the Dowager some tea to soothe her throat so she can continue crying.” Empress Dowager Wang said with a smile.

Princess Consort Ji said angrily, ”Empress Dowager, don’t go too far.”

”How has the mourning widow gone too far? Compared to you, the mourning widow’s skills are far inferior.” Empress Dowager Wang chuckled coldly.

Princess Consort Ji really wanted to curse, but the other party was the Empress Dowager. For her son’s sake, she endured.

”Lady, Ze’er also calls you mother. Now that he’s finally old enough to marry an Official Wife, can’t you pity him and grant him a decent marriage?” Princess Consort Ji said tearfully, ”If you must hate or punish me, I will accept without complaint. Just for the sake of him calling you mother, grant him a good match.”

Empress Dowager Wang glanced sideways: ”Listen to what you’re saying, hasn’t the Emperor already arranged a marriage? Princess Chongyang has a noble status. Do you think she’s not worthy of Prince Min?”

Princess Consort Ji ground her teeth, is she worthy or not; don’t you have a clue in your heart?

”Lady...”

Empress Dowager Wang said, ”The Harem must not interfere in politics, don’t you understand? Besides, Prince Min and Princess Chongyang are equally noble, a match made in heaven. Princess Consort Ji should return early to prepare for Prince Min’s grand wedding.”

The Royal Household Bureau will naturally oversee the prince’s affairs, but as the prince’s Consort, Princess Consort Ji couldn’t shirk her responsibilities, nor did she dare relax.

Princess Consort Ji angrily flipped the table: ”Wang Jingxian! You’re deliberately making a mockery of me, trying to keep me from ever having legitimate grandchildren!”

Empress Dowager Wang’s eyes sharpened, just about to speak, when she heard the chanting outside.

”The Emperor has arrived.”

Princess Consort Ji’s face turned pale, why has that harbinger of death come.

She stood up in fright, looking towards the palace door, a flash of bright yellow came into view, who else could it be but Emperor Chu.

”This son greets mother.” Emperor Chu saluted Empress Dowager Wang.

”Rise, Emperor, how do you find the time to come and sit with this widow?” Empress Dowager Wang asked with a smile.

Emperor Chu said, ”I heard that this year’s winter plum blossoms in Consort Xiang’s palace are exceptionally splendid, and I wanted to invite mother to enjoy them together. Didn’t expect the Dowager to be here too.”

Princess Consort Ji forced a stiff smile and half-bowed to Emperor Chu, awkwardly saying, ”I just came to chat with the Empress Dowager, casual small talk.”

”Oh, is that so, I thought the Dowager came because you were dissatisfied with my granting of Prince Min’s marriage, to question mother.” Emperor Chu said with a smile.

Princess Consort Ji was no fool. She immediately heard the questioning and warning in his words, even with a tinge of murderous intent, fear causing her legs to tremble, her thighs shivering.

Almost knelt.

She forced a smile with her pallid face, ”The Emperor jests, how could I dare? You and Ze’er are blood brothers, naturally, you’ll choose the best bride for him. I really just came to chat with elder sister.” She pulled her mouth into a smile, looking at Empress Dowager Wang, quickly saying, ”Lady, since the Emperor invites you to admire the plum blossoms, I’ll take my leave first.”

Empress Dowager Wang said sternly, ”Yes, you may take your leave. Properly prepare Prince Min’s grand wedding, don’t lose the dignity of the Royal Family.”

”Yes.”

Princess Consort Ji quickly bowed to both and left as if an evil spirit was chasing her.

Emperor Chu narrowed his eyes for a moment, ”Mother, could it be Princess Consort Ji misunderstood something, didn’t this son say nothing wrong?”

Empress Dowager Wang: ”...”

Indeed, said nothing, but displayed a bout of Emperor’s Majesty, scared her off!
