The Valued Lady is Truly Dominant

Chapter 685: Chapter 685: Leaving Behind a Daughter

The Wife of the Ji Family left the Prince Min Mansion satisfied.

Just after they had stepped out the door, someone reported the news to Prince Min.

”Prince, the Dowager left a Ji Family young lady to keep her company.”

Prince Min paused in flipping through the pages of a book, a trace of impatience appearing in his expression, and said, ”The Ji Family really isn’t giving up.”

All these years, he had tolerated their constant trivial antics, yet they remained unaware of propriety.

”Prince, would you like me to deal with it?”

Prince Min responded indifferently, ”No need, since my Consort has kept her, let it be. One more or less makes no difference.”

After all, she’s just a bed warmer.

The Prince Mansion can afford it.

”Understood.”

Before long, someone from the Princess Consort Ji’s side sent someone to invite Prince Min to have lunch together.

Prince Min raised his eyebrow, seemingly impatient.

Princess Consort Ji actually felt uncertain in her heart. Although her son also had consorts, she didn’t really know his particular taste, as the nature of the consorts in the rear court seemed varied.

He had previously rejected people sent from the Ji Family, but what about this one? Would she catch his eye?

Princess Consort Ji’s gaze fell on Ji Suhua, whose figure was indeed not bad, with curves in all the right places, a slender waist, and although her face could not be called exceptional, it had a good family quality.

”Aunt,” Ji Suhua felt both nervous and shy.

Princess Consort Ji said, ”Whether you stay depends on your fortune. Whether the Prince takes a liking to you depends on him, if he doesn’t want you, then you have to return home.”

Compared to her son, the Ji Family was the lesser concern, she didn’t want to go against her son’s wishes.

Ji Suhua’s complexion turned slightly pale, yet she expressed loyalty: ”Suhua, being of humble origins, doesn’t dare to aspire to the Prince, I just want to serve by your side, Aunt, and learn a little of your skills, which would be Suhua’s blessing.”

Everyone likes flattery, and Princess Consort Ji was no exception. Hearing these words, she raised her eyebrow, thinking that she was indeed smarter and more likeable than those such as Suqin and Suyun.

Just didn’t know if she had the fortune. If she did, having a relative in the mansion wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Princess Consort Ji’s expression softened, she noticed the golden hairpin on her head looked particularly vulgar.

She pursed her lips and directly removed that gold hairpin from her head, taking a gold-plated ruby tassel hairpin off her own head and inserting it into hers.

”Don’t learn from your mother and grandmother, thinking pure gold is beautiful, it’s very tacky. A maiden’s jewelry should either be lively and bright or elegant. Consider this a gift.”

Ji Suhua felt a joy in her heart, smiling sweetly as she curtsied: ”Thank you, Aunt.”

Seeing her respectful and grateful demeanor, Princess Consort Ji became satisfied, saying meaningfully: ”A hairpin is nothing, if you catch Ze’er’s eye, there will be plenty of fine jewelry waiting for you to wear.”

Ji Suhua lightly bit her lip, with her fist secretly clenched within her sleeve.

”Dowager, the Prince has arrived.”

Princess Consort Ji immediately beamed with joy: ”Invite him in quickly.”

Prince Min entered with his hands behind his back, allowing a maid to remove his cloak, then walked up to Princess Consort Ji and saluted: ”Greetings, Consort.”

”Ze’er is here, let’s have the meal served, today there’s your favorite braised pork,” Princess Consort Ji smiled and pointed to a seat.

Prince Min smiled warmly: ”Consort always remembers the child’s preferences.” His gaze fell on the person beside Princess Consort Ji.

Princess Consort Ji noticed and said, ”Oh, this is Suhua, the Consort saw her to be pleasant and good at singing, so she was kept to keep the Consort company. Suhua, go greet the Prince.”

Ji Suhua’s heart was pounding as she gracefully stepped forward and curtsied.
