Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Wen Yu didn’t pay attention to the enthusiasm of the people below the stage, whether it was genuine or fake. He just waited for the cheers to die down, then waved his hand.

”This matter is indeed the decision that Lin Haifeng and I made long ago. At first, I thought Lin Haifeng was joking, but after careful consideration, it seems that as the Commander-in-Chief of Yanjing, I am indeed the best choice.”

”I have power, and as for how strong it is, you might not quite understand even if I tell you. I possess a limitless Soul Puppet Legion, and Yanjing has the world’s strongest army and elite forces, as well as the most advanced technological capabilities. The combination between us is a powerful alliance. Regarding this matter, I’m not sure what you think, but I believe that very soon you’ll feel the benefits of having me as your Commander-in-Chief.”

To speak of nothing else, let’s discuss Wen Yu’s skill production line, which can greatly enhance Yanjing’s strength—Wen Yu no longer cares about the profits from the skill production line.

Moreover, from now on, Wen Yu will have the first choice of the outputs from within Yanjing’s treasure land.

For example, items that can help Wen Yu break through to Level 11.

Yanjing’s manpower, resources, intelligence system, and research system combined with Wen Yu’s own military power—this will be the most invincible force in the entire world!

After Wen Yu’s words, Fran first started to clap his hands, that aged face seeming to imagine some wonderful and powerful future possibility.

Under Fran’s lead, everyone below the stage clapped their hands, even Lin Que, who showed a bitter smile as he clapped reluctantly.

When the applause died down again, Wen Yu spoke again.

”Judging by your reactions, you seem to have no objections to this, so let’s settle it.”

Having simply dealt with the succession issue, Wen Yu signaled Fran to host the meeting again, afterwards Fran spoke on some nondescript issues while saying the final sentence.

”Then, the succession ceremony will be held in three days, at Yanjing’s Central Square. Departments, please prepare quickly.”

So, the meeting concluded.

...

Wen Yu followed Fran, heading towards the Supreme Command Headquarters together.

Although the succession ceremony would be held three days later, after the meeting, Wen Yu had already formally become Yanjing’s Commander-in-Chief.

Previously, the position of Guardian set by Lin Haifeng to balance the Commander-in-Chief of Yanjing, representing the pinnacle of military power in Yanjing, naturally dissipated.

In other words, Wen Yu as Yanjing’s Commander-in-Chief should also be Yanjing’s Guardian, but these details are irrelevant now.

The two of them returned to the Supreme Command Headquarters, Fran first asked Wen Yu if there were any areas that needed to be rectified, to which Wen Yu shook his head, indicating he wouldn’t frequently stay here.

Though Wen Yu serves as the Commander-in-Chief of Yanjing, it is clear he wouldn’t be sitting in an office handling miscellaneous tasks, which would inevitably fall onto Fran. Hence, the office, in Wen Yu’s view, was not important.

Wen Yu even thought of deciding to gift this status-symbolizing office to Fran, only to be politely declined by Fran.

Seniority should not be abolished; this was Fran’s original words.

Seeing Fran’s firm stance, Wen Yu nodded and did not insist further.

After visiting the office, Fran led Wen Yu to Yanjing’s inner city zone, personally selecting a residence for Wen Yu.

Previously, Lin Haifeng’s mansion was occupied by Fang Bai’s family, although it was the best place in the whole of Yanjing, in consideration of Old Lin’s contributions and merit it wouldn’t be reasonable for Wen Yu to do something like using his authority to evict anyone. However, the new mansion looked good to Wen Yu, luxuriously decorated, and spacious enough for a bachelor.

”From now on, this will be your residence in Yanjing. As for the tiered battle ground, I will arrange accommodation for you at the District 8 Outpost Base and the ongoing construction of the District 9 Outpost Base will also have your residence. Additionally, there’s the main city of the tiered battle ground, but presumably, I won’t need to arrange that myself.”

After listening to these words, Wen Yu nodded.

Subsequently, Fran exhorted Wen Yu with a couple of cautionary items about the succession ceremony three days later, then turned to leave. Not long after, Wen Yu’s Servant and Praetorian Guards led by Li Quan’an arrived one after another at Wen Yu’s residence.

Though Wen Yu hardly needs a Servant and Praetorian Guards, having a few people to order around is indeed convenient.

At least, for chores like laundry, cooking, dog-walking, or cat-feeding, Wen Yu wouldn’t have to do them himself.

It was his personal guard...

With this in mind, Wen Yu looked at Li Quan’an.

Facing Wen Yu’s gaze, Li Quan’an quickly lowered his head, showing a respectful posture, but Wen Yu knew that since the separation at CH Town, this old guy had made significant progress!

Not only did he become the leader of the Cannibals, but he also utilized the legacy left by the Demigod to quickly become the Captain of his Praetorian Guards, not to mention his own strength.

From Carmille’s memory, Wen Yu could discern Li Quan’an’s power, at least ranking among the top fifty.

For the Cannibals who can’t enter the treasure land or use the Exchange Stone Pillar, this is already extraordinary.

But one can’t help but consider, how many of his kin did Li Quan’an consume to gain this power!

”So, is there enough food?”

No old friend’s reunion pleasantries, Wen Yu directly addressed the greatest pain point of the Cannibals in one sentence.

Li Quan’an didn’t express anything, he merely replied.

”Lord Fran is arranging it, but it seems to be insufficient. It is expected that the number of Cannibals will reduce by more than half, but these monsters deservedly perish!”

These words, Li Quan’an spoke with gritted teeth—as if he himself wasn’t a Cannibal...

However, it must be said, Li Quan’an becoming a Cannibal can arguably be considered passive, forced. As for the rights and wrongs within, Wen Yu doesn’t bother to delve deeper.

This matter truly is difficult to judge right from wrong.

But Li Quan’an’s recent words eased Wen Yu’s mind, shockingly admiring Li Quan’an’s skill to tactfully use his words. Afterwards, Wen Yu signaled Li Quan’an to follow him inside the mansion.

...

The two sat in the living room, without waiting for Wen Yu to speak, Li Quan’an tactfully called in a professionist wearing military uniform from outside.

”Master, this is Dragon Two, a Cathay national, and formerly Commander Lin’s Praetorian Guards Captain.”
