Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Tall, handsome, vibrant, and full of youthful energy.

The twenty-something Rahal had grown from a once crying little kid to a powerful expert capable of standing on his own.

In the District 8 Outpost Base, in Lin Haifeng’s office, Wen Yu saw the child from years ago once again, but aside from some reflections on how time flies, there was no other emotional stir.

Rahal merely smiled at Wen Yu and said ”Uncle Wen Yu” as a greeting, and that was all...

After all, he couldn’t dive into Wen Yu’s embrace like he did in the past.

Over the years, Rahal still remembered Wen Yu, which was impressive for his memory.

In the room, besides Rahal, there were also Fran and Lin Haifeng. The four of them looked at each other in the office; after a while, Lin Haifeng spoke first.

”Make a wish first, then I’ll talk to you about other things.”

Wen Yu nodded and walked over to Rahal.

...

Familiar eyes awakened Wen Yu’s memories. Rahal’s eyes were just as they had been years ago, as bright and resplendent as galaxies.

Along with the gleam, Wen Yu felt a wave of dizziness from the transmission, similar but not quite the same as teleportation.

This power was strong, yet it seemed extremely fragile before Wen Yu, who even felt that with a bit of effort, he could break free from this power’s restraints.

”Stay calm! Don’t resist...”

Wen Yu’s slight finger movement made Rahal sense a heavy burden feedback from the Star Praying, and he was compelled to say this to Wen Yu.

In the past, Rahal had effortlessly pulled Wen Yu into the Prayer Space, but today things have changed, the power gap between the once young man and boy had widened to an enormous chasm.

This was how Rahal came to understand the limits of his Star Praying...

However, when Wen Yu gathered his strength and willingly requested entry into the wishing space, the burdened feedback from the Star Praying was somewhat alleviated. As the scene quickly shifted in front of Wen Yu, the next second he stood amidst a resplendent galaxy.

”State your wish!”

The tone was still familiar.

Nothing seemed to have changed here.

...

”I want to find the soul pet most suitable for me.”

With crisp clarity, Wen Yu made his wish while extending his perception to explore every hidden aspect in detail.

Unlike years ago, at this moment, Wen Yu could clearly sense waves of energy flowing from the galaxy above, with countless interwoven messages finally evolving into the desired reality.

This skill essentially functioned akin to an outstanding computer, using existing data to calculate certain future possibilities through specific algorithms—when computational power reaches a certain level combined with known facts, future insights become as clear as past events.

Of course, there were elements Wen Yu couldn’t quite grasp or perceive.

This differed from the ”Dream Come True” skill system, where its essence was converting life force into reality, whereas Star Praying merely provided information through calculation—Wen Yu had fantasized about using the ”Dream Come True” skill system to mold a soul pet exclusively for him. While creating life forms with the skill was feasible, conjuring up skills made the ”Dream Come True” effects completely ineffective.

In other words, the ”Dream Come True” skill system couldn’t generate skills from thin air.

According to Wen Yu’s assumptions, this might involve the issue of weight determination—the ”Dream Come True” skill system was powerful, but just a super combination put together from ordinary skills; when it comes to weight, the skill system wasn’t a conceptual power.

In a moment, feedback from the Star Praying.

”The cost, 100,000 Level 10 magic crystals!”

This was akin to the electricity required for computer operations. The price was slightly high but not unreasonable.

Wen Yu promptly paid the cost, and then the Star Praying provided the exact coordinates.

”Earth, the deep Pacific Ocean, coordinates XXX, XXX, XXX.”

As soon as the words were said, Wen Yu was teleported out of the Prayer Space.

...

”Got the result? From your expression, the result seems not so promising...”

Indeed, Wen Yu’s face wasn’t looking great at that moment—the deep Pacific was extremely close to Earth’s embodiment of will, which, for Wen Yu, might be one of the rare perilous places in the world.

In other words, barring any accidents, this soul pet might be beyond Wen Yu’s reach.

”On Earth.”

Wen Yu succinctly conveyed the outcome of the Star Praying to Lin Haifeng, then sat in a chair, squinting his eyes as if pondering something.

Seeing this, Lin Haifeng exchanged a glance with Fran, who immediately comprehended and took Rahal out of the room, leaving the office to Wen Yu and Lin Haifeng.

After they left, Lin Haifeng stood up and brewed a pot of hot tea, filling Wen Yu’s cup. As he tasted the tea, he began to speak.

”Actually, the issue with Earth isn’t unsolvable...”

”So? Do you have some sneaky plan again?”

Wen Yu spoke with a derisive tone, evidently holding Lin Haifeng’s schemes in disdain...

That’s Level 12, a planet’s Amalgamated Consciousness Entity, tied to the life of all creatures worldwide; even if you can pinch it, you wouldn’t dare kill it. At least, to Wen Yu, Earth’s will is definitely someone not to be messed with.

”Tch...”

Lin Haifeng made an odd noise and put down his teacup, gazing at Wen Yu. After a moment, he asked a question.

”What are you truly afraid of?”

”Isn’t that obvious? What am I afraid of... I’m afraid it will kill me! You really think I’m fearless, disregarding even Level 12 entities and a planet’s Amalgamated Consciousness Entity?”

Wen Yu was strong, but far from invincible—not even broaching Level 12 yet, let alone the higher-ranked Treasure Land Protectors like Golden Armor, whose strength should be comparable to Wen Yu, and among the Seven Commanders of the Demon Army, based on the memory image seen then of Black River Sovereign, Wen Yu could perhaps be on par with Legas. That was only a possibility; in reality, when fighting, Wen Yu assessed his current power and believed it would be unlikely to defeat Legas. As for the remaining six, it’s even less probable...

Not to mention the peculiar existence of Demon Spirit—he didn’t know how many carbon copies existed but could predict that each duplicate could easily crush him.

After all, Wen Yu’s growth span was honestly too short...

”However, according to my reports, Earth’s will hasn’t directly intervened before; I believe there must be some limitations, like not being able to act against native life forms on Earth, or perhaps not being able to act at all.”
