Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Three days later, the follow-up problems concerning the aftermath of eliminating the Demigod faction had been mostly dealt with.

Under Fang Yuqiong’s orders, the recent relocation work from Yanjing to the tiered battle ground was reversed—they moved the personnel and resources back to Yanjing.

This move seemed unwise and extravagant; however, after Wen Yu personally inspected Yanjing, he understood Lin Haifeng’s thinking.

The Black Tortoise transformation of the entire Yanjing had been completed, and more than half of the Black Tortoise transformation of the Eternal Sky City was also done. In addition, all basic facilities within Yanjing were well-repaired. Rebuilding a main city at the tiered battle ground was indeed not as good as returning.

Moreover, sending non-combat personnel to the tiered battle ground had little significance.

It wasn’t until all the dispatched Yanjing high-level officials returned that Fran issued a notification to all Yanjing high-level officials, indicating that there was something important to announce.

...

The afternoon came.

In the First Conference Hall of the Yanjing Assembly Site.

As people streamed in, luxury cars and beast-drawn carriages stopped at the entrance of the hall, and powerful Yanjing high-level officials filed into the hall, then took their seats one by one.

Fang Bai, Lin Que, Lin Tianxue, Qin Tian, Arthur, Kasu...

They whispered to each other, seemingly discussing the content of this meeting, wondering what it was about.

About 30 minutes later, all attendees had arrived, Wen Yu, Fran, Fang Yuqiong...only then did Li Quan’an stroll into the venue.

They took their seats one after another—Wen Yu sat in the center, Fran to Wen Yu’s left, Fang Yuqiong to Wen Yu’s right, while Li Quan’an stood by, like a sinner waiting for punishment.

The presence of these individuals gradually quieted the assembly.

Until Fran spoke up.

”The first matter concerns the infiltrators planted by the Demigod within us.”

The first step was to begin the reckoning—although the Demigod had fallen, the spies they left behind must still be dealt with.

Since it has been proven that they are disloyal, there is no longer any room to keep them.

As Fran’s words fell, Wen Yu acted, a subtle black light shot forth, transforming into ropes, swiftly wrapping around the bodies of over a dozen people below the platform.

”Lord Fran, what is...”

”Injustice, my lord.”

”My lord, please have mercy, we were forced into this!”

Fran remained silent, and Wen Yu merely lifted them with a slight motion, immediately pulling these people to his side.

His eyes gleamed, Dream Shaping activated, and within a short time, all the thoughts of these dozen individuals were imprinted into Wen Yu’s mind.

”Snap!”

The darkness energy erupted!

Ten of the thirteen ropes instantly snapped, correspondingly, the undercover agents bound by those ten ropes were disintegrated by the darkness energy in an instant, leaving only three remaining who fell to the ground, gasping heavily.

”The dead ones were undoubtedly infiltrators, the living ones were just followers, not major wrongdoers.”

Wen Yu spoke softly, Fran nodded knowingly, the three survivors, pardoned, scurried back to their seats, their heads shrunk like ostriches.

The deadly scene did not evoke repulsion from others; they just sat quietly in the audience—these people looked at life and death indifferently, and their loyalty to Yanjing was not low.

Infiltrators deserved death, and traitors faced eternal damnation—this was the rule, and it’s called justice!

After dealing with this small matter, Fran once again spoke.

”The second matter, concerning this action.”

As soon as Fran’s words ended, discussions erupted below the platform.

...

To eliminate the Demigod and the will of Earth at once was a grand scheme orchestrated by Lin Haifeng and the result of his efforts; nevertheless, others were not aware of how much was sacrificed and what difficulties were overcome during the process.

In the eyes of the uninformed, all they saw was Lin Haifeng’s demise, a change in command at Yanjing, and after some time, the Demigod was resolved, and Yanjing, even Earth, was back in their hands.

It all seemed abrupt and full of doubts...

Fran cleared his throat twice, halting the chaos below, and then slowly began to explain the ins and outs of the plan to everyone present.

”This was Commander Lin’s intention, the entire process went like this...”

At this point, there was no longer a need to hide the entire plan.

As Fran spoke, the crowd’s gaze simultaneously changed, they stared at Fran and Fang Yuqiong, seeming unable to believe Lin Haifeng would have the audacity to sacrifice himself to the enemy, nor did they imagine the newly elected Commander-in-Chief of Yanjing would be the culprit behind Lin Haifeng’s murder.

”In other words, Commander Lin is indeed dead, and the killer is Yu Qiong...”

”Boom!”

A sound explosion occurred as a thick and long spear swept from Lin Que’s hand towards Fang Yuqiong, but the spear was intercepted by Wen Yu in no hurry halfway.

Lin Que’s eyes were ablaze with fury as he glared at Fang Yuqiong, not even wanting to spare an extra word with his brother, only the intent to kill remained in his eyes.

However, Fang Yuqiong forced a bitter smile and didn’t offer any defense.

In response, Wen Yu merely sighed that Lin Que was truly a ”man of temperament”...

This kid probably trained himself into stupidity through martial arts...

Until the entire story was fully revealed by Fran, a larger clamor arose from below.

Countless eyes scanned Fang Yuqiong and Lin Que; after a while, Qin Tian clapped his hands and loudly spoke.

”This plan, tut tut, I admire Commander Lin’s courage, also Yu Qiong’s capability. In fact, in my opinion, Yu Qiong not only has no faults in this matter but has merits instead. I used to think the kid wasn’t fit for the position of Supreme Commander, but now, I support you!”

This came from the rational faction—in Wen Yu’s eyes, Lin Haifeng’s death had nothing to do with Fang Yuqiong.

But in the eyes of Lin Haifeng’s relatives, that was not the case.

Fang Bai looked at his son with bewilderment, seemingly unable to believe Fang Yuqiong would perform such a treacherous act, while Lin Tianxue just sat silently beside—not speaking a word—since she knew the truth, Lin Tianxue unwaveringly supported her own son.

As for Lin Que, there was no need to elaborate; this kid wanted to tear his brother apart, but Wen Yu pinned him into the ground with a slap.

As the commotion gradually subsided, Fang Yuqiong spoke for the first time.

”I feel remorse, in the past for the successful execution of the entire plan, I did not reveal my regret, but now that everything is settled, I... alas, I request to resign from the position of Yanjing’s Commander-in-Chief, join the army, start from the grassroots, and continue to contribute my strength for Yanjing.”

A rational and well-regulated statement.

Upon hearing the voice of the Supreme Commander, the conference hall fell into silence, for a moment, Kasu was the first to raise his hand and utter the word ’agree’.
