Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Inside the cave, the ground cracked in patches, and soon, a deep abyss was revealed.

The cave was bottomless, but the entrance was extremely small, barely three meters in diameter. Countless bubbles emerged from it, followed by Ibira’s thick yet melodramatic villainous declaration.

Wen Yu waited for a moment until a slippery octopus tentacle first emerged from the depths of the cave. This tentacle swayed left and right as if sensing everything inside the cave.

Wen Yu deliberately restrained his presence and wasn’t detected by Ibira until Ibira sensed there was no ”danger” in the cave; the tentacle retracted back swiftly, and in the next second, louder tremors were heard.

The ground quaked for a moment, until two slender and long dragon whiskers protruded from the cave entrance, followed by a ferocious dragon head. Once the dragon head emerged, accompanied by the wide dragon eyes, everything around was taken in by Ibira.

Contrary to the information detected by the tentacle earlier, this time, Ibira’s observation by sight revealed two distinct changes.

A black barrier...

And a smiling human looking at him.

At that moment, Wen Yu and Ibira locked eyes, neither of them speaking a word.

...

In Wen Yu’s vision, Ibira only revealed his upper body—as described by the Sea King, Ibira’s appearance was not exactly beautiful...

Although dragon-like above, he had no limbs. His whole body was slick and covered with stinky mucus.

Wen Yu examined for a moment, only to find Ibira staring at him with a curious gaze.

He was observing, observing this Mysterious Man who did not appear within his perception range...

Then, he moved.

Just like a fresh loach pulled out of the earth, Ibira slowly wriggled his lower body, extracting his lower limbs at a ”I seem like I’m not moving” pace—those eight tentacles of varying lengths and significant thickness.

Until Ibira’s body completely escaped from the seal.

”So, who are you?”

Ibira spoke first, his voice calm and low, lacking the imagined brutality.

Wen Yu heard and responded with a smile.

”I am...”

”Buzz~~~”

Before Wen Yu could finish, the agitated water gushed out, Ibira’s octopus limbs stirred vigorously, causing sea waves within the cave, splashing against the surrounding dark barrier, but not stirring a ripple.

Once again, Wen Yu’s response was interrupted by Ibira, and Ibira’s ”fleeing is the best policy” plan was declared bankrupt along with the strong dark barrier.

”Tsk tsk tsk, you’re pretty slick at playing this game.”

Wen Yu laughed immediately, noticing that this super sea monster named Ibira seemed to have a tiny bit of intelligence.

Ibira gave a polite but awkward smile to Wen Yu, glanced at the surrounding black barrier, then at Wen Yu in front of him, and spoke again.

”I believe combat is not the only solution to a problem. Sir, um, not knowing your name, what brings you here?”

”I came this time to...”

”Hiss...”

Again, before he finished speaking, Ibira launched an attack on Wen Yu!

His slippery body bounced instantly, accompanied by a violent sea wave, Ibira shot straight towards Wen Yu. Then, he opened his huge mouth, sharp teeth gleaming, fiercely biting towards Wen Yu.

”Crunch...”

A cracking sound of bones was heard as Ibira’s head collided with a newly-formed dark screen in front of Wen Yu, an impact much like an egg against a stone, shattering his large teeth and facial bones.

”You... hey, you’re rather brutal on yourself, aren’t you?”

Wen Yu continued to jest with a smile, and in the next second, he met Ibira’s blood-red, murderous eyes.

...

Ibira had always wanted to escape.

Having just broken the seal and perceiving the death of the Sea King, Ibira felt his hard times were coming to an end.

The bright and colorful world outside awaited him eagerly, but upon breaking free from the seal, Ibira visually discovered that he fell into another stronger barrier.

Bad intentions...

This fact was something Ibira could imagine even with his behind, so he tried to bluff and deceive to make one last effort for his freedom.

But when both of his attempts failed, Ibira understood that resolving today’s matter was not going to be easy.

This rather aroused Ibira’s ferocity!

He raised his head again, the scars on his face fading quickly, then once more opened his huge mouth and aggressively bit on the dark screen set by Wen Yu!

A piercing cutting sound exploded out, and standing so close to Ibira’s mouth, Wen Yu could even see sparks and bone dust bursting from the dark screen as if Ibira’s teeth were fiercely sawing through it, only to break one by one, then regenerate perfectly under the skills’ effect.

High Speed Fission (SSS-Class, Passive Skill): The mollusk’s genes bring the host unimaginable cell activity. When the host takes any damage, cells will undergo high-speed fission, healing any injury in a short time.

Wen Yu did not know what Ibira’s recovery capability precisely was, but that did not stop him from giving a candid evaluation of this ability.

”Trash!”

In Wen Yu’s eyes, this skill was absolutely useless!

Any passive-natured recovery capability would negate the amplification effect of Ultra Mortal Combat. In Wen Yu’s view, this recovery capability might be an indispensable part of Ibira’s skill system, but in contradiction to his own skill system, it had a counterproductive effect.

But it’s okay, after all, there are seven more skills waiting for me...

The answer from Star Praying would not be far-fetched.

Ibira still tirelessly gnawed at the dark screen, but Wen Yu’s casually set dark screen was an insurmountable mountain before Ibira. As he chewed, he even began to feel a little despair until he saw the purple light flickering beside Wen Yu, and in the next second, a dough-like object appeared in Wen Yu’s palm.

Wen Yu grinned at Ibira, then dropped the blood he had just acquired from Fang Yuqiong onto Faceless.

Faceless swiftly shaped itself, and Wen Yu sincerely gave Ibira a piece of advice.

”Do well, for your performance will determine whether you live... or perish...”

”Little one, it’s time to test your courage!”
