Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Ibira remained motionless until Faceless strode towards Ibira.

The distance between the two sides grew closer and closer until Faceless loomed in front of Ibira like a mountain, then Faceless raised its forelimb high, chopping down vertically like a battle axe!

With a loud ”boom,” Ibira on the ground was immediately crushed into mush by Faceless!

Yet, when the dust settled, Ibira’s body scattered like foam, leaving only one thick octopus limb at the original spot.

Limb Sacrifice (SSS-Class, Active Skill): An exclusive ability of the octopus family, when facing a deadly blow, it can consume one tentacle to replace the main body in death!

”Substitute... or a scapegoat type ability.”

Wen Yu’s eyes scanned the surroundings and immediately saw through Ibira’s little trick. Clearly, Faceless also noticed something unusual about Ibira, and it raised its head, looking around, quickly locating Ibira’s life aura somewhere underground.

However, just as Faceless moved a step, it immediately discovered that Ibira’s aura surged rapidly, ascending three levels in a short time!

At this moment, Ibira, facing the immense pressure brought by Star, decisively ascended three levels, hoping to produce enough game-changing skills!

For Breakthrough Achievers, levels are merely numbers. With the shattering of the Level Lock, any non-professionist Breakthrough Achiever can advance to higher levels with just a thought.

This advancement speed is extremely fast, so fast that Faceless didn’t even have time to react before Ibira launched an attack first!

Accompanied by the seabed churning, a thick octopus tentacle burst out of the ground in an instant. Previously, Ibira’s tentacle was only ten meters long, but now it extended more than three times longer!

The robust limb quickly coiled around Faceless’s ankle, then constricted tightly, with the mucus and ensnarement on it sticking into Faceless’s body like nails, making it unable to break free no matter how much it struggled.

More frighteningly, accompanying the activation of the Evil Currents Defense, Faceless’s scale armor seemed to be corroded by strong acid, becoming soft and weak.

Moments ago, when Wen Yu utilized the Dream becomes Reality Skill System to weaken Faceless’s physical attributes, it also drastically reduced Faceless’s species innate talent and various physical functions—if only the physical attributes were weakened, Ibira might not even be able to break through Faceless’s surface defenses.

This was just a trial and test, Wen Yu also needed to strive for fairness, right?

...

Facts proved that when the physical attributes, physical functions, and even species innate talents of two giant beasts are on the same level, Ibira indeed is not inferior to Wen Yu’s meticulously nurtured soul pet.

The deep-sea environment effectively nullified Faceless’s Dragon Flame, but as the Demon Dragon Armor took effect, the corrosive power brought by the Evil Currents Defense was repeatedly weakened, until the scale armor on Faceless’s ankles completely shattered, and Ibira’s corrosive capability could no longer continue.

Yet suddenly with a loud noise, another seven giant octopus limbs of varying lengths abruptly emerged from the soil, all eight limbs forming a giant cage, fiercely binding Star in place.

Wen Yu’s sharp eyes immediately spotted that one of the limbs was slightly smaller than the others, likely having regrown under the effect of High Speed Fission (SSS-Class, Passive Skill).

Limb Sacrifice (SSS-Class, Active Skill) and High Speed Fission (SSS-Class, Passive Skill) formed a powerful recovery ability system in Ibira.

It’s just unfortunate that Wen Yu couldn’t utilize this recovery ability system—it pales in comparison to Wen Yu’s own recovery system.

Ibira’s eight limbs locked Faceless’s legs and tail, in the face of Ibira’s blockade, Faceless struggled hard but couldn’t break free for a long while, until another roar sounded, a huge dragon head no smaller than Faceless’s emerged abruptly from the seabed mud, opening its mouth wide, crazily biting towards Faceless!

Star Swallow...

In an eighth-level state, Ibira’s physique already rivaled that of Star state Faceless, and its serpent-like body gave Ibira the capital to ”swallow an elephant”!

It intended to reenact the previous instant kill, but how could Faceless be easily dealt with?

As Ibira’s big head rushed to Faceless’s front, Faceless’s two short and stout forelimbs were already raised high, and as Ibira’s head reached Faceless’s forelimbs, Faceless’s two forelimbs immediately gripped Ibira’s head like iron pincers.

For a moment, the two giant beasts were in a stalemate.

Until the Dragon’s Aura Field (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Active Skill) and Dragon Blood Amplification (Species-specific Esoteric Level, Active Ability) activated...

...

As the Dragon’s Aura Field spread, Ibira’s body visibly softened, the eight octopus limbs swayed erratically, losing their previous domination.

And the launch of Dragon Blood Amplification further strengthened Faceless’s power, as the Boiling Blood Domain unfolded, Ibira’s big head was instantly slammed into the mud by Faceless.

Although their physical attributes were the same, how terrifying are the skill levels on Star? Countless passive abilities overlapped, allowing it to gain the upper hand in a short time once again.

In fact, this contest was fundamentally unfair to Star state Faceless—Star possessed three Limit Breakthrough Level abilities, these abilities made Star inevitably stronger in combat indices at the same level compared to adversaries, and Wen Yu sealing several skills effectively handicapped Star significantly.

The physical attribute strengthening from the Mountain Observing Technique, the species innate talent enhancement brought by True Dragon Golden Body and Steel Soul—all these were gone.

Yet relying on the powerful boost from Dragon’s Aura Field, Dragon Blood Amplification, and True Dragon Golden Body, Star remained the super boss capable of crushing everything.

With a loud ”boom,” as the earth collapsed, Ibira ferociously twisted its body, roaring with all its might, only to be firmly pressed and rubbed into the ground by Faceless!

Faceless didn’t even dare to harm Ibira...

The effect of the Ancient Dragon’s Wrath rendered Faceless’s attack damage incurable—though the combination of Limb Sacrifice (SSS-Class, Active Skill) and High Speed Fission (SSS-Class, Passive Skill) should withstand the effect of Ancient Dragon’s Wrath, who could say for sure.

However, Ibira soon showed Faceless that it underestimated its opponent.

Ibira’s eight limbs, already as soft as muddy slush, suddenly and swiftly revived and intertwined, these tentacles were extremely flexible, rapidly transforming beneath Star, twisting into a single unit, then, this bizarre thing formed by the fusion of eight limbs suddenly blossomed like a chrysanthemum, revealing a dark hole underneath!

”Boom!”

An extremely violent Energy Wave burst out at high speed, striking Faceless’s belly instantly!

In an instant, flesh and blood splattered, this sudden and powerful blow shockingly blasted Faceless’s belly into shreds, exposing its internal organs completely!
