Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

”Why bother...”

The voice sounded, but Wen Yu already had the answer in his heart.

He seemed to recall the conversation with Lin Haifeng a few days ago.

”The plan goes like this...”

”...”

”You using yourself as a bait? This cost...”

”How about you do it? I’m telling you, if you feign death, it won’t deceive the Demigod and Earth’s will, and it seems like only the two of us qualify as bait...”

”...”

”I still want to say... Why bother... I think it’s pretty good how it is now, as long as I block the tiered battlefield, the Demigods won’t last much longer, maybe ten or eight years, and you can return to Earth with forces overwhelming the Demigods. You could eradicate the Demigod’s forces and probe Earth’s will in the process. If, when the Demigod’s forces are destroyed, it still doesn’t intervene, then it’s highly likely Earth’s will can’t directly intervene. In that case, it’s worth the gamble.”

Wen Yu indeed had this idea — with the home-field advantage of the tiered battlefield, the Demigod’s force development speed would certainly widen rapidly with Yanjing, and after ten or eight years, whether the Demigod can even maintain Earth’s main base is uncertain. In other words, time is on Wen Yu and Yanjing’s side.

But to this, Lin Haifeng only smiled bitterly and shook his head.

”It’s not as simple as you calculate...”

”Let’s get back to Tang Haofei...”

”Tang Haofei?”

”Exactly... the one who smashed 11.21% of the Level Lock with a few punches, Tang Haofei.”

Upon hearing this, Wen Yu immediately fell silent.

He understood Lin Haifeng’s meaning...

Even though Wen Yu had some advantages in the tiered battlefield, Earth still plays an irreplaceable role.

Regarding the Level Lock — if Tang Haofei’s punches hit the tiered battlefield, it might only smash a mainland bloc; for the Level Lock? Perhaps not even 0.1%.

This disparity is indeed too large!

”If he does it a few more times, no one can handle it... But the key isn’t in this; the problem still lies with the Demigods and Earth’s will.”

”Tell me, after ten or eight years, will they become desperate and cause widespread destruction on Earth, directly shattering the Level Lock, leading to everyone’s turmoil...”

Wen Yu thought, then smiled bitterly.

”Very likely.”

”So, the current situation is actually the opposite. They can afford to wait; we can’t...”

”However, too many coincidental factors remain in this plan. Even if you act as bait and die, the success rate may be less than half.”

”That’s right...”

Lin Haifeng nodded decisively, then looked at Wen Yu, his aged face showing a slight smile.

”But if the plan succeeds, how much time can I buy us?”

”A long... long time...”

Without the interference of Demigods and Earth’s will, Wen Yu could even say — he decides when the Level Lock breaks, the Level Lock will thereby break.

With a few soul pets guarding the Demon Realm’s Gate, the Demon Tribe’s threat is negligible!

”Then, if the plan succeeds, how many lives can I save?”

”Countless!”

If the Level Lock breaks later, Earth’s organisms will have more preparation, less sacrifice. Given Earth’s complexities — if the plan succeeds, it will save vast numbers of lives!

”So, it becomes a simple math problem... I use my life to exchange for the possibility of saving countless lives...”

Upon saying this, Lin Haifeng paused briefly before smiling.

”I think it’s worth it...”

”Oh... I don’t think it’s worth it...”

Wen Yu briefly complained, then simply shook his head.

”Whatever, you made your decision. What do you need me to do?”

”Follow me!”

...

”Here, Wei Tian created a supercomputer system alone, one with computation capabilities through the roof.”

”Before the apocalypse, Earth’s technology tree already reached the artificial intelligence realm; after the apocalypse, with treasure land and endless extraterrestrial technologies, artificial intelligence made great strides.”

”Theoretically, computers mimic human brains; if the computational capabilities are strong enough, the superiority of computers over human brains is immense.”

”You know my strength, although I’m Sequence Number 3, this is solely propped up by Yanjing’s support. I’m not a warrior. I can bully those weaker than me, but on the battlefield, I might not perform better than my grandson...”

Lin Haifeng self-deprecated, then switched his train of thought.

”But my brain can’t be gone!”

After finishing, he sat in front of a machine, Wei Tian connected countless lines and tubes to Lin Haifeng’s body.

”Copy my thoughts, ways of thinking, ideals, ambitions... transplant these into this supercomputer. Then, does my body, my soul, really matter?”

”Ha...”

At this moment, Wen Yu truly didn’t know what expression to make.

Old Lin is really open-minded...

”There’s even more... once I become this supercomputer, my computational capabilities will reach a peak, and I can control all of Yanjing from within the machine!”

”See, nothing has changed, right?”

”Yes, only from an old undying to a ’true’ old undying...”

Wen Yu once again complained — regarding Lin Haifeng’s theories... he surely disagreed... but he couldn’t interfere.

Old Lin is noble-minded, willing to make a great sacrifice; Wen Yu can only hide behind, enjoying Lin Haifeng’s contributions...

”But there’s another issue...”

”What issue?”

”Look, in my current state, surely can’t be Yanjing’s highest leader anymore.”

Wen Yu nodded, indicating that with such a vast setup in Yanjing, letting a computer be the highest leader wouldn’t be easily accepted...

”My grandson is impulsive, a pure martial artist, with an unstable temperament, unable to sit still — he prefers the battlefield over the office.”

”My grandson was the best choice to replace me, but this time, his performance was too disappointing; he can’t command the masses!”

”Fang Bai is suitable, but compared to him, now there’s an even better choice.”

After speaking, Old Lin raised a hand and pointed at Wen Yu.

”Ah Le?”

Wen Yu, wide-eyed, looked at Lin Haifeng.
