Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

On the way back, the words that Earth’s will said to the Demigod kept echoing in his mind.

”Subvert Fang Yuqiong, kill Lin Haifeng, elevate Fang Yuqiong to power, and under Wen Yu’s nose, let Yanjing become our territory...”

”Anyway, it’s just a try. It’s best if it succeeds; even if it doesn’t, Earth has already become our basic stronghold. We are in a position to both advance and retreat, so what is there to be afraid of?”

The specific plan seemed feasible in the Demigod’s eyes—the important thing is that Earth’s will assured that the Treasure Land Protector and the Demon Tribe would take action.

Regarding this point, the Demigod only felt dizzy—since when did his boss get in touch with the Demon Tribe? And also that ambiguous Treasure Land Protector Number 2.

The more he knew, the less the Demigod understood Earth’s will’s performance. But one thing was already certain: this Earth’s will had long ceased to be the nurturing mother of all living things; instead, it had become a complete source of disaster.

Lying in bed, the Demigod’s mind was filled with various thoughts, and after a while, he sighed softly.

No way—since he had already come this far, it was too late to regret it now...

...

Early the next morning, the Demigod brought the Origin Energy crystal he obtained from Earth’s will and met the Treasure Land Protector Number 2 at the place where they last met.

The two exchanged commercial flattery, and then the Demigod presented a gift and stated his request.

”I would like you to help my carbon copy infiltrate the tiered battle ground. Um, it’s best if it can be done seamlessly.”

Regarding the Demigod’s request, Protector Number 2 readily agreed. He only asked the Demigod to prepare early and meet again in three days.

As for whether this could be done... both the Demigod and Treasure Land Protector Number 2 didn’t see it as a problem.

After all, Wen Yu wasn’t personally stationed at the entrance of the teleportation gate; only the soul puppet legion led by Mountain Kui was stationed there—a large scale teleportation would certainly be detected by the puppet battalion. However, if it’s just one or two people, failure to accomplish it would truly waste Protector Number 2’s Level 11 strength.

Thus, the Demigod returned to his residence, calculating the detailed arrangements for the entire plan while waiting for time to pass.

And just like that, three days went by.

...

Three days later, they met at a teleportation gate somewhere in Europe.

At this moment, the Demigod was dressed in white, emitting a highly subdued aura. Protector Number 2 cast just a glance and saw through the Demigod’s little trick.

He had specifically used some high-grade material to create the carbon copy, which weakened aura fluctuations and strengthened its concealment ability.

The strength was weak beyond measure, but the mission didn’t require any strength...

Protector Number 2 simply nodded at the Demigod, then signaled him to close his eyes.

The Demigod complied, and in the next instant, a great wind pressure crazily wrapped around his body, with the external perception ability seemingly shielded by some strange energy field. At this moment, the Demigod was completely unaware of what was happening outside.

Until the dizzying teleportation sensation emerged, and he vaguely perceived the presence of many soul puppet auras around him. In the next moment, the wind pressure calmed, and Protector Number 2’s voice sounded in his ear.

”We’re here.”

Only then did the Demigod open his eyes, greeted by a boundless plain.

”The mainland bloc where the tiered battle ground’s main city is, considered the core control area of Yanjing and Wen Yu. Do you need me to send you further?”

Faced with Protector Number 2’s inquiry, the Demigod simply shook his head.

”Right here is fine, the target person happens to be in this area too.”

”Great, in that case, I’ll take my leave...”

”Thank you, sir.”

After exchanging pleasantries, Protector Number 2 immediately turned into light and left, unknown where to.

...

Treasure Land Protector Number 2 helped the Demigod’s carbon copy infiltrate the tiered battle ground, which Wen Yu naturally didn’t know about.

Mountain Kui is strong, stronger than most ranks, yet facing a Level 11 opponent, Mountain Kui seems still powerless. And Wen Yu couldn’t possibly guard near the teleportation gate like a pillar, so such oversight is unavoidable.

In fact, Wen Yu didn’t care much about it—guarding the teleportation gate of the tiered battle ground was certainly not to fend off the Treasure Land Protector. The elusive Golden Armor is a testimony to that. Wen Yu blocked the teleportation gate not to prevent certain people, but to deter the Demigod’s large forces.

Naturally, the current Demigod wasn’t bold enough to provoke Wen Yu in the tiered battle ground...

At the moment, Wen Yu was in Maple Leaf Town, screening the mutant beast list reported by Mountain Kui.

This time, the list was much shorter than the last. After cooperating once, Mountain Kui evidently realized his master’s picky nature, making the screening more stringent.

Yet even so, in this list, Wen Yu still didn’t find a favored candidate.

After a while, Wen Yu set down the mutant creature catalog, squinting as he chuckled self-deprecatingly.

”Is my requirement a bit too high...”

Once, contracting a mutant creature like the Cyclops not of divine beast descent could make Wen Yu thrilled, but now, countless divine beast breeds and even over a dozen clan consciousness bodies lined up for Wen Yu to choose from, yet they still couldn’t catch his eye.

As his power heightened, his status became increasingly elevated. Apart from the few soul pets that stayed by his side, this world was growing more inadequate to keep up with his pace.

Just when Wen Yu was wavering between lowering his standards and maintaining high demands, the communicator on his desk suddenly rang, displaying Lin Haifeng’s incoming call. Wen Yu answered, and Old Lin’s voice came through the receiver.

”Heard you haven’t found Soul Pet No. 8?”

”Yeah... maybe my standards are too high...”

Wen Yu was quite candid about this issue, his standards were indeed excessively high. Wen Yu had even considered lowering some of his requirements, but at this moment, Wen Yu suddenly remembered a child he had encountered over a decade ago.

”By the way, is there still a chance to use Rahal’s Star Praying? I’d like to borrow a Star Praying, to find a suitable soul pet.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Haifeng burst into laughter, teasing Wen Yu.

”I thought you’d forgotten about Rahal. I was wondering, why, even at Level 8, you hadn’t mentioned seeking help from Rahal when you couldn’t find a suitable Soul Pet No. 8...”

Initially, Wen Yu had indeed forgotten, but Lin Haifeng’s reminder instantly revived Wen Yu’s memory.

Star Praying... now that’s something valuable.

”Well then, if you have time, come to the District 8 Outpost Base. I happen to have some matters to discuss with you.”

Wen Yu readily agreed.
