Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

The Demigod chuckled lightly upon hearing those words.

Alright, caught the psychological state—want to achieve great things, huh? Where there is desire, there are weaknesses, which also means there are conditions for a successful defection...

Lin Tianxue was silent for a moment before speaking again.

”You have a big uncle, you know that, right?”

”Um, Lin Que’s father, I heard of him. I’ve heard he died more than ten years ago.”

”No, he didn’t die...”

Upon hearing this, the Demigod realized it was time for him to make an appearance.

He pushed open the bathroom door and stood before Fang Yuqiong, facing Fang Yuqiong’s astonished gaze, the Demigod spoke gracefully.

”I am the Demigod, and I am also your big uncle...”

Looking at Fang Yuqiong’s bewildered face, the Demigod opened his arms and struck a pose he thought was quite handsome.

”Why, isn’t it worth a hug when family reunites?”

Fang Yuqiong: ”...”

Deep inside: ”MMP, you finally took the bait... Don’t you think this entrance is a bit stupid...”

...

The talk of hugging was naturally just a joke, but it must be said that this move by the Demigod successfully dispelled Fang Yuqiong’s intention to call for others—or so he thought.

Lin Tianxue sensibly opened the study door and pushed both Fang Yuqiong and the Demigod inside.

After that, it’s not related to her anymore... How far things could go depended on Yuqiong’s ability.

As she closed the door, the corners of Lin Tianxue’s mouth unconsciously lifted into a slight smile.

Don’t blame me for tricking you; you tricked me first...

About three hours later, the study door reopened, and the Demigod walked out, nodding to Lin Tianxue, and then instantly disappeared.

Fang Yuqiong followed closely behind, and only after realizing the Demigod was gone did Lin Tianxue send a message to Fang Yuqiong.

”You didn’t agree, right?”

”Not yet. Agreeing too easily will make him suspicious.”

”Smart...”

The two exchanged questions and answers, both revealing a knowing smile.

With the earlier experience, Lin Tianxue would be foolish to follow the Demigod blindly again, and the reward from her father’s side was to forgive her mistakes and reunite her family.

For Lin Tianxue, who had been cultivating herself for over a decade, perhaps nothing was more important than this.

...

On the way back, the Demigod contemplated his conversation with his nephew for a while before nodding.

Everything seemed flawless, indicating Fang Yuqiong truly held a grudge. Although the first talk didn’t succeed, it was still a good start.

Next would be the second, third time, until Fang Yuqiong successfully defected.

Naturally, the Demigod didn’t dismiss the possibility that Fang Yuqiong might be acting... However, as the plan reached a critical stage, whether or not he was acting would become clearer.

Thus, the Demigod remained hidden within District 1’s Yanjing Assembly Site until sunrise and sunset, only arriving at Fang Yuqiong’s residence the next day.

It was another lengthy conversation. This time, Fang Yuqiong’s willingness to relent was much more evident.

He’s an ambitious but still immature young man.

The Demigod provided the following assessment of Fang Yuqiong before hiding within Yuqiong’s courtyard, for convenient subsequent communication—or some degree of monitoring.

...

At this point, Fang Yuqiong naturally no longer had any need to communicate with Lin Haifeng.

In fact, within the plans between the two, many details required Fang Yuqiong to handle himself, make decisions independently, which wasn’t merely a plan but also a test of Fang Yuqiong’s abilities.

For the time being, Fang Yuqiong seemed to be doing fairly well...

A month later, just as the Demigod was thinking of giving up due to Fang Yuqiong’s repeated hesitations, Fang Yuqiong finally gave the Demigod a definite answer.

”Big uncle, I agree! But...”

”But what?”

”Are you really sure I can become Yanjing’s supreme leader?”

”No problem at all! But before that, I need you to do one last thing.”

”As long as I can become Yanjing’s supreme leader, I’ll agree to anything!”

The young man’s eyes shimmered with the light of ambition, to which the Demigod merely smiled lightly and said mysteriously.

”You’ll know when the time comes...”

...

”Boom!”

With the surging demonic tide, numerous Demon Fiends poured out from the Demon Realm’s Gate once again.

This time, the demonic tide arrived without any premonition, and the Demon Tribe assembled even more powerful forces than before!

But it was pointless...

On the inevitable path of the demonic tide, the Earth alliance forces led by Star and Luo Luo stood ready. With the mighty powers displayed by Luo Luo and Star, the demon plague was completely purged within three days.

The battle spread across three mainland blocs, and by the end, the ground was littered with Demon Fiend corpses, and the black Demon Blood even pooled into a lake.

A clean and swift victory!

Although the main force comprised only two mutant creatures, this didn’t hinder the rekindling of hope to resist the demon plague throughout the tiered battle ground.

Yet, during the battle’s most intense phase, no one noticed a strange demon creature with a swollen belly mingled among the vast Demon Group, silently sneaking through an unguarded Demon Realm’s Gate, burrowing underground, never to be seen again.

...

After the great battle, life returned to normal.

Star and Luo Luo were dispatched near the Demon Realm’s Gate to closely block it, and subsequently, Yanjing’s elite unit deployed a second line of defense behind the two beings.

This was the most optimized blocking plan summarized by the strategic department, according to the current strength comparison—thus, it could maximize the blockage of all Demon Realm’s Gates, although it slightly weakened District 8 Outpost Base’s forces, as long as the Demon Fiends were contained at the frontline, District 8 Outpost Base’s safety was assured.

For a while, although the aftermath of the great battle lingered, it gradually faded over time.

And on the day after the demon plague ended, the Demigod quietly led Fang Yuqiong to the vicinity of District 8 Outpost Base.

”Big uncle, why are we here?”

Fang Yuqiong seemed puzzled, but the Demigod merely bestowed a smile on him.

”To watch a show...”

The Demigod didn’t elaborate on what the show was; he simply led Fang Yuqiong through the city gates into a restaurant, selected a window seat, ordered some food and wine, and began to eat and drink.

The broad robes concealed their presence, coupled with the Demigod’s preparation of some disguise tools, no one noticed that this was Lin Haifeng’s son and grandson.

Observing the carefree demeanor of the Demigod, although Fang Yuqiong wore a face full of confusion, he still accompanied his big uncle for a couple of drinks. Only after three rounds did the Demigod glance at the time.

”The time has come.”

As he said this, the next instant, a pitch-black curtain completely enveloped the entire District 8 Outpost Base!
