Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 344: Chapter 133: Decision (Additional 500 monthly tickets) _1

”I suggest we give up the outpost treasure land!”

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s message, Kuangliu, on the other end of the communicator, fell silent for a moment before speaking gravely.

”Is it that powerful?”

”Peak Level 5! All possess formidable spatial-type abilities. Attack power, defensive power, and mobility are all top-notch!”

Kuangliu remained silent for a long time before replying.

”Come back first. We haven’t reached the outpost yet. Once we’re there, we can discuss this.”

Hearing Kuangliu’s response, Wen Yu hung up the communication without another word.

Kuangliu’s meaning was quite clear. Never mind the military’s top brass; even Kuangliu himself couldn’t accept being driven out of a treasure land by a single Demon Tribe member!

Wen Yu, for his part, wouldn’t try too hard to dissuade them.

Everyone has their own considerations and will make their own decisions! And most crucially, everyone must pay the price for their own decisions!

All Wen Yu could do was state the facts and make his own decision.

Wen Yu observed Star in the 3rd Soul Realm. The Soul Realm’s healing ability was considerably powerful, but Star’s injuries were terrifyingly grave. Coupled with the unknown energy inherent in the Dimension Reduction Attack, Star’s wounds were healing very slowly.

He recalled Faceless directly into the Soul Realm space.

The blood Faceless had absorbed was equivalent to a foreign energy. Once Faceless entered the Soul Realm space, its state of Perfect Duplication was immediately nullified.

Then, he summoned Cyclops out from the Soul Realm space.

In the recent battle against the Ancient Demon spawn, aside from Faceless, Wen Yu’s other two soul pets hadn’t played much of a role.

This wasn’t particularly strange. All along, Wen Yu had trained Cyclops and Star for close-quarters combat, and their fighting style had always leaned in that direction. However, when faced with the Ancient Demon spawn’s bizarre and potent skill set, the impact Cyclops and Star could have was negligible!

This could only be attributed to a suppression by its Skill Ability System!

Moreover, a Skill Ability System like that of the Ancient Demon spawn would be exceptionally difficult to assemble.

Furthermore, Wen Yu himself didn’t believe that a Beast attribute ability system was so much weaker than a spatial attribute one. Star might not be able to defeat the Ancient Demon spawn now, but that didn’t mean a Peak Level 5 Star couldn’t defeat a Peak Level 5 Ancient Demon spawn!

He believed that with just one supremely powerful SSS-Class skill, Cyclops’s or Star’s combat capabilities would undoubtedly take a quantum leap.

Cyclops, beside him, had also felt his recent helplessness. His massive head drooped, and he let out intermittent WHIMPERS.

A pang of sorrow struck Wen Yu’s heart. He gently stroked Cyclops’s head and said seriously, ”Trust me, trust yourself. We’ll work hard together, and I’ll make you comparable to a divine beast before long! That’s my promise, old pal!”

”ARF, ARF, ARF...”

Cyclops let out a series of eager barks, forcefully nuzzling Wen Yu’s body.

”I believe! I, your Dog Bro, will definitely become an unparalleled, ferocious hound!”

”Heh, that’s more like it!”

Wen Yu chuckled, patted Cyclops’s head, and swiftly mounted him.

Cyclops was optimistic by nature—or, to put it bluntly, thick-skinned and carefree. The feeling of powerlessness from moments ago was completely dispelled by Wen Yu’s promise. He promptly forgot about it, twitched his massive nostrils, caught the scent of Kuangliu and the others, and sped off in the direction the convoy had taken.

「...」

Meanwhile, Kuangliu, in the convoy, had hung up his communicator with Wen Yu. He gripped the steering wheel, driving with narrowed eyes, lost in thought.

After some time, Kuangliu finally spoke.

”Wen Yu just contacted me. He said that Ancient Demon fled... then he suggested we quickly withdraw from the outpost. What do you all think?”

Sitting in the passenger seat, Yang Pengguang, a barely perceptible smile on his face, spoke slowly but firmly, ”I don’t think we should abandon this outpost. The future income from this treasure land is substantial. If we abandon it, it means that in the less than three months remaining before the Demon Plague descends, our military will have no way to increase its strength other than hunting mutant beasts.”

Upon hearing Yang Pengguang’s words, Kuangliu nodded in approval.

Claire and Andre, in the back seat, said nothing more; clearly, they too were unwilling to abandon the outpost treasure land.

The vehicle lapsed into silence.

After a while, Kuangliu spoke again.

”When Wen Yu gets back, I’ll ask him for the details of that Demon Fiend’s skills, and then we’ll figure out a countermeasure... Giving up the outpost because of a single Demon Fiend? I don’t agree, and neither will the military high command!”

After speaking, Kuangliu slammed on the accelerator. The military vehicle let out a fierce roar and shot forward.

Behind them, the transport truck hauling the Demon Qi Shield Generator, towed by a steel cable from the lead military vehicle, also picked up speed.

「...」

Cyclops’s speed, compared to Star’s, was like the difference between a train and an airplane—a vast gap!

But Cyclops was definitely no old-fashioned steam engine; on the contrary, he was more like a bullet train—incredibly fast!

At the very least, he was much faster than the convoy hauling the Demon Qi Shield Generator.

In less than half an hour, the convoy, which had seemed to crawl from Wen Yu’s perspective, was already within sight.

「...」

Kuangliu, in the convoy, saw Cyclops’s massive figure approaching from behind and stopped the vehicle, waiting for Wen Yu.

Yang Pengguang, in the passenger seat, first glanced at the approaching Wen Yu and Cyclops, a flicker of shock in his eyes.

When the Ancient Demon spawn first attacked the convoy, Yang Pengguang had personally experienced its power. He’d initially thought Wen Yu’s claim to Kuangliu about driving off the Demon Fiend was just brave talk. But judging by Wen Yu’s current state—his attire, wounds, and demeanor—it was highly probable that Sequence Number 2 had actually defeated the Ancient Demon spawn head-on!

Yang Pengguang narrowed his eyes, his thoughts unreadable. He then opened the door, got out, and quietly moved to a seat in the back.

Wen Yu, unceremonious as ever, simply nodded to Yang Pengguang from a distance. He instructed Cyclops to change into Mini Form, then picked up the small Cyclops and strode quickly to the military vehicle.

Kuangliu, beside him, quietly started the vehicle and raised an eyebrow at Wen Yu.

Wen Yu briefly organized his thoughts before speaking.

”That Ancient Demon possesses the physical attributes of a Peak Level 5. Based on my assessment, the five skills it has are all S-Class or higher spatial abilities.”

”Perfect defense, attack power that bypasses defense capabilities, and an Instantaneous Movement ability!”

After briefly explaining the Ancient Demon spawn’s skill effects, Wen Yu leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes, feigning sleep.
