Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 307: Chapter 97 Sudden Change in Situation_1

Wen Yu naturally noticed when the Bipedal Lizard Pyramid activated.

Seeing the rolling dust in the distance and feeling the earth-shattering momentum, Wen Yu turned and fled without a second thought.

”What is that...?”

Star and Cyclops cried out, the little Soul Beast trembled uneasily, and Star’s wings beat faster. Like a black arrow, they sped into the distance—or rather, fled for their lives.

It’s going to be our nightmare...

Wen Yu said, his voice slightly hoarse.

If things proceeded as expected, the situation at the entire outpost was about to undergo a drastic change!

”The war, it’s truly begun. Prepare yourselves.”

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s voice, Star and Cyclops trembled involuntarily.

Against such a vast number of high-quality Bipedal Lizards, Wen Yu’s individual combat power couldn’t possibly turn the tide.

...

Just as Wen Yu reached the blockade line and the first round of missile strikes hit their targets, the communicator in his possession began to ring.

Amidst the swirling dust and thunderous rumbles echoing across the entire treasure land, Kuangliu’s voice came through the communicator.

”Wen Yu! Wen Yu!! Immediately rescue the soldiers on the front lines and simultaneously establish a defensive circle in the designated position.”

This ”establishing a defensive circle at a designated position” was the military’s countermeasure against the Bipedal Lizards’ ”tunnel warfare” tactics.

Led by Sequence Number 2 and Sequence Number 3, they were to consolidate military forces on the front lines, creating a firm position between Demon City and the outpost.

If the situation became unfavorable, these two strongholds could act independently—for instance, by retreating. Of course, if things truly soured, escaping would become exceptionally difficult.

If the military managed to turn the tide, these two strongholds would transform into a formidable barrier. In that scenario, the warriors remaining on the front lines would become a nightmare for the retreating Bipedal Lizards.

Unfortunately, based on the current situation...

Can the military handle that big guy?

Kuangliu paused for a long moment on the other end before slowly replying.

”It’s difficult. I’m afraid they’ll have to resort to ’mushrooms’ in the next round. I have no idea what the yield will be. You should keep your distance from that monster!”

I know that much without you telling me...

Staying far away from the Bipedal Lizard Pyramid was an unspoken necessity.

”I’ll contact you if anything changes. Be careful.”

”Yeah.”

Wen Yu gave a simple affirmation and ended the call, then looked down at the scene below.

Below, countless Peak Level 4 Bipedal Lizards were continuously emerging from underground, attacking the squads hunting Demon Monsters on the front line.

”To the rescue.”

Without much hesitation, Wen Yu ordered.

Hearing Wen Yu’s command, Star quickly dove down. Simultaneously, Wen Yu tossed Cyclops down from mid-air.

Cyclops grimaced as his body rapidly enlarged. The moment he landed, he tore the surrounding Peak Level 4 Bipedal Lizards to pieces.

Poor Cyclops. He had played the role of ”savior from the sky,” acting as an emergency responder, countless times.

Amidst the pervasive scent of blood and raging killing intent, the first large-scale war between the Human Race and the Demon Tribe officially began!

...

Wen Yu had already jumped down from mid-air before Star even landed.

He entered his battle state mid-air, instantly tearing off two rapidly unfurling tongues. At the same time, Palpitation and Mad Medley appeared in his hands, and he began firing wildly at the area below.

Wen Yu’s physical attributes were 500 points, and the little Soul Beast’s were 465 points. Upon entering his battle state, Wen Yu’s physical attributes instantly soared to 965 points.

Even Peak Level 4 Bipedal Lizards only had 500 points in physical attributes, let alone these Bipedal Lizards, which possessed no combat skills whatsoever.

The current power of Palpitation and Mad Medley was more than enough to instantly kill these large Level 4 reptiles!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Mad Medley’s rhythmic bursts, combined with Palpitation’s continuous submachine-gun-like fire, posed an immediate and significant threat to the Bipedal Lizards across the battlefield.

Most of the Bipedal Lizards swarmed madly towards Wen Yu, which inadvertently relieved the pressure on the encircled squad.

Seeing these screeching Bipedal Lizards, Wen Yu sneered contemptuously.

”Star! Fire!”

The moment Wen Yu spoke, a fierce pillar of fire swept across the area!

The pillar of fire passed through Wen Yu, who was already in his dislimning state, and directly annihilated the Bipedal Lizards in front of him. With this single attack, the entire section of the battlefield was cleared!

Star’s Dragon Flame was extremely powerful. Although the flesh and blood energy of the Bipedal Lizards was completely obliterated by the Dragon Flame, this was no time to worry about such minor details.

In a short period, the dozens of Peak Level 4 Bipedal Lizards besieging the squad were wiped out, leaving few corpses behind.

”Clean up the battlefield, quickly. You all follow me.”

”Yes, officer!”

Several battered soldiers saluted Wen Yu and immediately began collecting magic crystals.

Within a minute, Cyclops and Star had devoured the few remaining Bipedal Lizard corpses, and the soldiers had collected the scattered magic crystals from the ground.

Wen Yu accepted the dozens of Level 4 magic crystals from the squad leader and placed them directly into his space ring. Then, leading the squad, he hurried towards the pre-designated location.

...

Along the way, countless Bipedal Lizards emerging from the ground launched frenzied attacks, only to be picked off by Wen Yu’s precise shots or torn to shreds by Cyclops and Star.

Nearby encircled soldiers, witnessing the distant sky ablaze and Energy Fluctuations erupting everywhere, converged towards Wen Yu’s position as if they had found their rallying point.

Star’s and Cyclops’ massive forms acted like a banner, drawing the attention of all warriors on the eastern front who hadn’t yet retreated. Before long, by the time Wen Yu reached the pre-designated assembly point, a contingent of over two hundred people had gathered behind him!

And at the pre-designated stronghold, even more soldiers had already assembled.

Seeing the large group led by Wen Yu arrive at the stronghold, Xiao Xue, who had been stationed there, immediately came out.

”How’s the situation?”

Upon seeing Xiao Xue, Wen Yu asked directly.

”Most of the personnel from the eastern front who couldn’t evacuate in time are here. Sequence Number 2 is also here. The remaining forces have retreated to the outpost.”

Hearing this news, Wen Yu nodded.

”You all stay here for now. I...”

BOOM!!!

Before Wen Yu could finish speaking, a brilliant flash of fire erupted in the distance!
