Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 320: Chapter 109: Easy Kill!_1

As the sharp dagger grew closer, the demon spawn became somewhat panic-stricken!

The assassination was just too sudden.

It quickly activated its fifth skill!

Damage Transfer (A-Class, Active Ability): Consumes a large amount of stamina to transfer the damage it is about to receive to another designated unit!

This designated unit was the Balu Monster beneath it!

But this skill had no effect!

Because the battle instinct of the Balu Monster beneath it was quite strong!

Its thick, slippery tongue quickly coiled around the leaping assassin. Then, WHOOSH, the assassin was swallowed by the Bipedal Lizard.

The sound of CRUNCHING and MUNCHING echoed from the Bipedal Lizard’s mouth. A large amount of fresh blood gushed out, and the demon spawn let out a long sigh of relief!

Unfortunately, before the demon spawn could exhale completely, it was interrupted by a loud BOOM!

A flash of fire suddenly erupted from the mouth of the Bipedal Lizard beneath it, followed by a plume of smoke and a spray of thick, black blood.

Its gurgling, pained cries reached the demon spawn’s ears. The demon spawn’s face filled with panic as it watched its mount—one of its only two combat units—collapse to the ground, the fear in its eyes deepening!

The recipient of the Damage Transfer has been killed... My Damage Transfer ability is temporarily ineffective... I can be harmed now...

These thoughts made the demon spawn increasingly afraid, increasingly terrified!

This terror even caused the demon spawn’s mind to go blank, severing even the thought process for activating skills!

Then, the demon spawn could no longer activate any skills!

A shadow appeared directly from behind and instantly wrapped around the demon spawn!

Shadow Seal (S-class, Active Ability): Consumes half stamina to activate, sealing all of the opponent’s skills below S-class for 5 minutes!

Then, a figure slowly emerged from the shadows.

The dagger, flashing with a chilling glint, stabbed rapidly towards the demon spawn!

And this time, there was no Bipedal Lizard to come to the demon spawn’s rescue.

Fortunately, the recent Shadow Seal had served as a warning. The demon spawn realized that the attack from the figure that had just appeared wasn’t an assassination but a direct assault, so it was mentally prepared.

Unfortunately, being mentally prepared was one thing; having the ability to cope was another entirely!

The demon spawn watched the dagger draw ever closer, its hands flailing in panic, indecipherable noises sputtering from its mouth! A Level 5 Demon Seed! Faced with a Level 4 human species assassin, it behaved like a maiden about to be ravaged by a strongman...

Fortunately, there was still a Demon Fiend by its side!

Ever since the demon spawn had appeared, the Soot Skin Demon Fiend had behaved like a sycophant. The demon spawn’s original intention in bringing the Soot Skin Demon Fiend along was to better understand the human side’s situation and intelligence, even if the Soot Skin Demon Fiend knew very little.

While following the demon spawn, the Soot Skin Demon Fiend’s safety was usually assured, but at this moment, it had no choice but to step forward!

The demon spawn’s pathetic display when facing the assassination made the Soot Skin Demon Fiend understand: if it did nothing, both it and the demon spawn would undoubtedly be slaughtered!

The Soot Skin Demon Fiend’s physical attributes weren’t poor, at least somewhat superior to those of a Level 4 Shadow Assassin. However, the innate frailty of its species meant it held little advantage when facing assassins!

Moreover, aside from a Blood Beast, the Soot Skin Demon Fiend possessed no other skills.

But the Soot Skin Demon Fiend’s ”courageous resistance” against the ”rape” somewhat helped the demon spawn to regain its composure.

”Although I’m low on stamina and my skills are sealed, damn it, I am a Level 5 Demon Spawn...”

This simple thought flashed through the demon spawn’s mind, and it instantly came to its senses.

It seems that in terms of individual combat power, I’m not weak either. Besides, the Balu Monsters are quickly returning to reinforce me. As long as I can hold out for a few dozen seconds...

Thus, the demon spawn immediately ”steeled” itself. The look in its eyes as it gazed at the assassin grew increasingly cold!

Then, in the very next moment, the demon spawn’s newfound ”resolve” was shattered!

Over a dozen figures emerged directly from the shadows on the walls. The uniformly styled daggers in their hands flickered with the chilling glint of death. Then, these Shadow Assassins leaped onto the dead Balu Monster’s body and lunged directly at the demon spawn!

Seeing this, the despair in the Soot Skin Demon Fiend’s eyes deepened. Its movements even slowed, and in a moment of carelessness, an opposing assassin’s dagger plunged into its body.

The despair in the demon spawn’s eyes was even more profound. It knew that facing more than a dozen Third-level and Level 4 professionists, it had absolutely no chance of survival. This realization, however, only fueled its ferocity!

As for surrendering to the Human Race... its identity as a demon spawn and the black crystal on its head had already eliminated that possibility!

It issued a final command to all Balu Monsters through its mind: ”Come here! Kill these skulking cowards!” Then, the demon spawn lunged forward, simultaneously roaring in the Demon Realm Language, ”For the Demon Tribe!”

Its four short legs scrambled furiously, but its speed was truly pathetic. At the same time, its two stubby arms attempted to strike at the rapidly approaching humans...

Then, a dagger was brutally thrust into its head.

”So weak...”

The Shadow Assassins’ Leader, who had killed the demon spawn with a single strike, said in disbelief.

Originally, in the Shadow Assassins’ Leader’s calculations, although the demon spawn’s strength wasn’t considered exceptionally strong, it was still a Level 5 Demon Seed. It shouldn’t have been this ”pathetic”!

So, the original plan was for the first Shadow Assassin to self-destruct to kill the mount. Then, a second Shadow Assassin with a Sealing ability would seal the demon spawn’s skills, and finally, the remaining Shadow Assassins would attack together to eliminate the demon spawn.

Once these assassins struck, their stealth abilities would fail, and they would face a massive onslaught from countless Bipedal Lizards!

They had even prepared for death, but unexpectedly... the demon spawn was too weak!

From another perspective, most of these Shadow Assassins had died for nothing!

”Well, nothing to be done about that, but at least the mission is complete!”

A figure suddenly appeared beside the Shadow Assassins’ Captain, holding up a miniature nuclear bomb.

”In that case, I won’t stay any longer. I’ll give this to you first.”

After speaking, No. 8 handed the miniature nuclear bomb to the Shadow Assassins’ Captain.

Strictly speaking, this assassination operation had required numerous specific conditions and coincidences. To address any potential problems, No. 8 had been the military’s final contingency for assassinating the demon spawn.

If any unforeseen issues had arisen, No. 8 would have used his truly terrifying assassination prowess to launch a solo, suicidal attack on the demon spawn!

But now, it seemed No. 8 wasn’t needed.
