Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 318: Chapter 107: Witness Me_1

It was hard to say whether this decision was good or bad, or if Fang Wenhai and the Tactical Commander’s ideas were correct. However, for the remaining warriors at the outpost, this decision was indeed their current hope—the final lifeline for the entire outpost.

Just then, Fang Wenhai’s communicator rang again.

”This is Kuangliu. I can see Wen Yu’s position. It will take him about five minutes to get back to the outpost.”

”Understood. Tell Wen Yu he needs to be faster...”

Upon hearing this, Fang Wenhai clenched his fists tightly. He briefly explained the current situation and then directly hung up the communicator.

Since the battle began, Fang Wenhai had only received bad news. Now, with two pieces of good news arriving suddenly, he couldn’t help but feel elated.

After ending the call with Kuangliu, Fang Wenhai looked east.

There, a nearly sixty-meter-long Peak Level 5 Bipedal Lizard moved slowly, occasionally swallowing a professionist whole. Above its head, two Demon Fiends, resembling small black dots, were faintly visible.

Fang Wenhai’s orders were passed down layer by layer, and in less than a minute, they reached a house not far from Central Castle.

Nearly 30 people were crammed into the small room.

These were the members of the Death Squad, established by the military in the outpost treasure land.

After receiving Fang Wenhai’s orders and the distributed equipment and items, the leading professionist gestured to the surrounding members. Then, these military professionists, each holding different ranks, quickly grabbed their weapons and rushed out of the room.

Outside the door, a newly spawned Level 4 Bipedal Lizard was devouring the corpse of a military warrior.

In such a short time, the Bipedal Lizards had already advanced this far!

Seeing the large bulges slowly forming on the body of this Level 4 Bipedal Lizard, the leading warrior quickly retrieved a huge Hand Cannon from his space ring.

BOOM!

Fire flashed from the cannon’s muzzle, and the Level 4 Bipedal Lizard’s head instantly shattered.

After casually dispatching a Level 4 Demon Fiend, the leading warrior showed no change in expression. Without even stopping to dig out the magic crystals from the Bipedal Lizard on the ground, he proceeded quickly to the east.

Behind him, nearly thirty professionists quickly followed.

Everyone in this squad was a Level 4 professionist.

Indeed, if they weren’t so powerful, the military would never have tolerated these troublemakers—some of whom were even criminals—continuing to hold military ranks.

”Our mission is to break through the Bipedal Lizard blockade to the east and fight our way to the largest one. Everyone, the time to atone for our mistakes has arrived!”

Upon hearing their captain’s words, all members of the Death Squad quickened their pace.

Approximately thirty Level 4 professionists, like a sharp blade, forcibly pierced through the massive horde of Bipedal Lizards.

These individuals had either committed unforgivable mistakes or violated military law. To have survived such circumstances without being purged by the military, and instead join the Death Squad, meant that none of them were weak.

Moreover, due to the significant size difference between the Human Race and the Bipedal Lizards, only a limited number of lizards could attack them as they advanced rapidly. When these professionists attacked in unison, their combined offensive power was sufficient to quickly eliminate a Level 5 Bipedal Lizard.

In a short period, the Death Squad had already advanced several kilometers without encountering significant resistance.

Naturally, the demon spawn also observed this scene.

The demon spawn had a clear understanding of his own combat capabilities. My own race’s combat strength isn’t high, he thought. Even with my status as a demon spawn, my individual combat ability can’t compare to a normal Level 5 creature. This means that this Death Squad, capable of killing Level 5 Bipedal Lizards, can also kill me.

After a moment of contemplation, the demon spawn emitted a Spiritual Fluctuation.

Perceiving this Spiritual Fluctuation, the nearby Bipedal Lizards instantly stirred. All Bipedal Lizards in the eastern part of the outpost simultaneously abandoned their current targets, even ignoring incoming attacks, and rapidly crawled towards the Death Squad’s position.

BANG!

A massive bullet struck a Level 5 Bipedal Lizard squarely in the head.

Accompanied by flames and an explosion, dozens of attack skills rained down on the Bipedal Lizard, instantly extinguishing its life.

However, there were simply too many of these Bipedal Lizards!

A slippery tongue swiftly coiled around the body of the rearmost professionist. Before this professionist could react, more tongues rapidly ensnared their body, and they were yanked into the air.

Like a splendid flower blooming in an instant, blood sprayed in mid-air, then scattered like withering petals...

War is always accompanied by sacrifice.

It took the Death Squad only a few minutes to carve a bloody path through several streets, sacrificing more than ten lives to reach the vicinity of the demon spawn.

What they saw was the demon spawn, surrounded by layers of Bipedal Lizards.

The demon spawn, perched atop the Peak Level 5 Bipedal Lizard, surveyed the humans below like a king observing his domain, surrounded by his countless loyal troops.

Gazing at the ”ants” before him, a cold smirk touched the demon spawn’s lips.

”Kill them!!!”

Perhaps to instill even deeper despair in the humans before him, or perhaps to signify his own determination and irresistible will, the demon spawn’s voice boomed loudly—and he spoke in Chinese!

For a being of the demon spawn’s power, learning a ”foreign language” was not difficult.

Of course, the Bipedal Lizards could not understand Chinese, but this didn’t prevent them from receiving the Spiritual Fluctuation contained within his words. Thus, the Bipedal Lizards surrounding the demon spawn stirred to action!

The number of Bipedal Lizards launching the attack wasn’t large; after all, their massive bodies took up considerable space. However, there were at least nearly a hundred of them, not to mention the ”reinforcements” still pouring in endlessly from the rear!

Witnessing this, the dozen or so remaining members of the Death Squad fell silent for a moment. Then, their captain spoke calmly.

”Because of my erroneous decision, an entire regiment of soldiers perished at the hands of mutant beasts. Day and night, the dead souls of those who died because of me torment me... Now, the time for my redemption has come... What about you?”

As soon as the captain finished speaking, a voice came from behind him.

”Yes, the time for redemption is here, but I prefer to call it atonement... So, witness me!”

Before his words faded, a burly figure charged directly at the oncoming Bipedal Lizards. With the cry, ”Witness me!” this robust man activated the miniature nuclear bomb in his hand.

BOOM!!!

The bomb detonated with a deafening roar. Magically modified by the Science Academy, the rare miniature nuclear bomb erupted in a blinding white light, followed by a torrent of flames that surged skyward. Nearby Bipedal Lizards were instantly blasted away.

Amidst the sky-filling conflagration, a white shield of light burst through the smoke and shockwaves, hurtling towards the demon spawn’s position.

RELENTLESSLY FORWARD!!!
