Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 311: Chapter 110 Reinforcement_1

They were a group of stoic adult males, almost two meters tall and all identical in appearance.

Their numbers were not massive, a mere one hundred or so.

Each was clad in a full suit of sci-fi-designed Exoskeleton Armor and carried an enormous firearm. Their overall appearance was imposing!

Of course, Fang Wenhai knew exactly what these ”guys” were. Despite their imposing appearance, they were no match for professionists.

These were the military’s Human Clone Armored Troops.

And human clones, being Human Creations, naturally possessed a certain skill.

Human Creations (F-Class, Passive Skill): These are man-made creatures, artificially produced with signs of life but devoid of Souls, possessing only minimal instinct. These life forms can evolve by consuming the corpses of mutant creatures. After Evolution, however, they cannot acquire skills, although skills *can* be acquired through special channels!

This ability is the Dominator’s restriction on these artificial life forms. According to military research, this Human Creations ability cannot be forgotten or modified by any means.

Moreover, these ”Humans,” devoid of Souls, couldn’t even enter a treasure land. For the Human Clone Armored Troops to be allowed entry into the treasure land now, the Science Academy must have concocted some kind of black technology!

Seeing reinforcements arrive, Fang Wenhai nodded to Wei Tian, who was leading them.

Wei Tian smiled slightly, took out a controller, and manipulated it for about ten seconds. Then, the entire Human Clone Armored Troops quickly got into motion.

These human clone warriors, taking mechanical strides, marched directly out of the outpost and gradually closed in on the Bipedal Lizards.

Watching the human clone Mechanized Corps below, Fang Wenhai frowned slightly. He then said,

”These human clones, based on my observations, probably haven’t undergone Strengthening and promotion.”

Wei Tian, who was already standing beside Fang Wenhai, merely shrugged.

”We aren’t going to use magic crystals on them. Besides, the tactics for this corps never involve real combat...”

Fang Wenhai knew of this corps but had never seen the Human Clone Armored Troops’ combat methods.

Observing Fang Wenhai’s puzzled expression, Wei Tian chuckled.

”Have you seen those firearms?”

Naturally, Fang Wenhai noticed the imposing firearms held by the Human Clone Armored Troops. He estimated that these were new weapons developed by the Science Academy, now being field-tested for their battlefield effectiveness.

However, Wei Tian’s words were different from what Fang Wenhai had imagined...

”Cool, right? I think so too, so I had them equipped. But in reality, they’re just models—toys.”

”You need to understand the nature of human clones. If we don’t install memories in them, they know nothing and possess no thoughts or emotions. This type of life form is best suited to be a Human Bomb...”

Hearing Wei Tian’s words, Fang Wenhai fell silent for a moment before finally nodding in agreement.

These science madmen... it was useless to talk to them about humanity or compassion, especially in this apocalyptic era! Still, using human clones this way would undoubtedly maximize the corps’ effectiveness!

Just as Fang Wenhai was pondering these things, another wave of fluctuations occurred at the entrance of the treasure land.

Subsequently, a corps of a thousand soldiers rushed out from the entrance of the treasure land and immediately sprinted towards the city wall.

On the backs of their dark green military uniforms was an emblem of a red flame.

The leader appeared to be in his thirties. While directing his troops towards the city wall, he yelled into his walkie-talkie,

”Hey, hey, hey, Wen Hai! We, the Magic Energy Mage Special Ops Team, are here to report! I hope you haven’t been screwed over by those Demon Bastards yet...”

”Also, the other two special professionist teams are about to arrive...”

After a brief silence from the other end of the communicator, Fang Wenhai’s voice came through.

”You’ve arrived just in time, Shen Yi! And later, in the battle, don’t you special professionists wet your pants!”

「...」

Not long after the third nuclear explosion ended, communications were restored.

As it turned out, the communication device, heavily developed by the military, was quite reliable.

The first message received detailed the current situation in the outpost: countless Level 5 Bipedal Lizards were rushing straight towards it, their numbers uncountable.

Given the military’s current manpower and the number of powerful experts, Fang Wenhai didn’t hold out much hope for the outcome of this defense.

The communication relayed one request: Wen Yu and Kuangliu were to retreat swiftly to provide support!

After a brief discussion with Kuangliu, Wen Yu quickly made his decision.

They had to retreat!

If the outpost fell, the frontline soldiers would be trapped in the treasure land with no escape. In that scenario, Wen Yu and Kuangliu would also perish here!

After quickly exchanging their thoughts, Wen Yu ignored the battle unfolding nearby between military soldiers and Bipedal Lizards. Instead, he studied the map of the entire treasure land, contemplating a retreat route.

After a moment, Wen Yu made up his mind.

”Everyone, retreat immediately towards the outpost! Star, Cyclops, you two cover the rear!”

After he gave the simple command, the military soldiers promptly disengaged from their current battles. With Wen Yu and Hao Yun as the vanguard, they retreated directly towards the outpost.

Meanwhile, Kuangliu, further away, had already begun to withdraw towards the outpost.

After all, Kuangliu’s influence within the military was far beyond what Wen Yu could compare!

「...」

Retreating amidst the interception of countless low-level Bipedal Lizards was no simple task.

These brainless Demon Monsters had only one thought: kill all life forms not of their kind.

Moreover, the entire frontline was now swarming with these Demon Monsters, whose reproductive capacity was terrifying. Wen Yu couldn’t possibly leave these few remaining warriors behind to hold their ground!

Because without him, they definitely wouldn’t last! Others might be expendable, but Wen Yu could never allow Hao Yun and Xiao Xue to die here! If he did such a thing, it would mean the breakdown of his cooperative relationship with the military!

Besides, Wen Yu had another idea... Whether it was killing these low-level Bipedal Lizards or Level 5 Bipedal Lizards, it was all killing. According to his estimates, the entire outpost would soon turn into a massive Shura Field. His safety there would certainly not be any greater than it was here! After a brief consideration, it was better to retreat with these military soldiers!
