Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 342: Chapter 131: Pitch-dark World Stage 3_1

The grotesque darkness beasts moved slowly and lacked explosive power. The Ancient Demon spawn easily dodged the first darkness beast. Then came the second, and then the third!

Finally, a darkness beast bit into the Ancient Demon spawn’s body.

To the Ancient Demon spawn’s astonishment, this beast tore away the flesh from the bitten area, while a strange Psychic Attack surged into its mind!

Soul Strike!

The black hole in the beast’s mouth directly devoured the Ancient Demon spawn’s flesh! Then it lunged once again!

The beasts’ mouths possess an ability similar to Annihilation. Of course, it’s not as strong as Annihilation, but in a Level 5 Pitch-dark World, these beasts are enough to cause terrifying damage to any life form below Level 6... Now, what will you do?

Wen Yu knew the darkness beasts couldn’t kill the Ancient Demon spawn. The first and Second Stages of the Pitch-dark World weren’t intended to kill powerful experts. However, the moment the Ancient Demon spawn used its abilities, the goal of the Second Stage was achieved!

The objective of the Pitch-dark World’s Second Stage was to weaken and eliminate the expendable ones!

As expected, the Ancient Demon spawn took action!

The four known abilities of the Ancient Demon spawn were Dimensional Asylum (S-Class, Active Ability), Instantaneous Movement (S-class, Active Ability), Space Solidification (SSS-Class, Active Ability), and Dimension Reduction Attack (SSS-Class, Active Ability).

These four abilities encompassed the three major aspects of combat: movement, defense, and attack!

With such a terrifying combination of abilities, the Ancient Demon spawn held an undeniable advantage in any confrontation!

Its solo combat capability was comparable to that of a divine beast with similar physical attributes!

But, the Ancient Demon spawn encountered Wen Yu, whose abilities were even more bizarre and terrifying than its own!

Attack? Impossible. The Ancient Demon spawn couldn’t locate Wen Yu, making an attack out of the question.

Flee? Difficult. Within the Pitch-dark World, the Ancient Demon spawn’s perception was severely compressed, making it impossible to determine direction. It might escape by sheer luck, but how many attacks would it endure in the process? How long would it take? More importantly, how much stamina would it consume?

Once its stamina was depleted, death would be its only fate!

More critically, the Ancient Demon spawn lacked the power to tear open the Pitch-dark World from within!

So, defense became the only choice for the Ancient Demon spawn—and it was indeed the right choice!

When the Ancient Demon spawn activated Dimensional Asylum (S-Class, Active Ability), Wen Yu, suspended in mid-air, frowned.

The stamina he had just been replenishing was abruptly cut off!

The Dimensional Asylum (S-Class, Active Ability) was akin to hiding in another dimension. The current Pitch-dark World lacked the ability to breach dimensional barriers. The curse on the Ancient Demon spawn certainly couldn’t penetrate Dimensional Asylum to transfer ”sustenance” to Wen Yu!

Endless darkness beasts continued to phase in and out of the Ancient Demon spawn’s body, yet they caused no harm.

Seeing this, the Ancient Demon spawn sat down and shouted into the boundless darkness, ”Hey, hey, hey! It’s your turn now...”

As soon as its words faded, the Pitch-dark World shrank instantly, leaving an area less than ten meters in diameter, from within which Wen Yu’s voice emerged.

”This ability of yours is interesting. What’s it called?”

”Dimensional Asylum. If you can break this spatial barrier, I’ll concede. If not, how about we call it a draw?”

”Not a chance!”

The Pitch-dark World’s first gambit had yielded nothing, a result Wen Yu couldn’t tolerate!

The words had barely left his lips when countless black arrows shot towards the Ancient Demon spawn, quickly vanishing over the horizon.

”It’s useless. Without a supply of stamina, your Pitch-dark World won’t last much longer. You can’t kill me!”

The Ancient Demon spawn spoke the truth. Wen Yu had shrunk the Pitch-dark World precisely because he was worried about insufficient stamina—the consumption rate of a combined skill like the Pitch-dark World was terrifying!

Wen Yu tested it for a long time, confirming one thing: this Ancient Demon spawn wasn’t lying.

Sensing the remaining stamina in his body, Wen Yu pondered for a long moment before unleashing the Pitch-dark World once more!

Seeing this, the mockery in the Ancient Demon spawn’s eyes intensified. It jeered at Wen Yu, ”Still not giving up? Or just stubborn? Let me give you a piece of advice: if you don’t possess an Esoteric Level attack skill... you won’t be able to break Dimensional Asylum at all!”

The only reply the Ancient Demon spawn received was the sight of the Pitch-dark World relentlessly surging before it.

The claim that only Esoteric Level skills could break Dimensional Asylum wasn’t entirely accurate.

A Dimensional Asylum cast by a Level 5 Ancient Demon Spawn did indeed require Level 5 Esoteric Level abilities to be completely shattered!

However, if this Ancient Demon Spawn faced a Level 10 professionist, that professionist could likely shatter Dimensional Asylum with mere punches and kicks!

The defensive limit of Dimensional Asylum wasn’t determined by skill rank, but by energy intensity!

Now, Wen Yu intended to unleash attack power equivalent to an Esoteric Level skill by using the third stage of the Pitch-dark World: the Pitch-dark Demon Lord state!

Endless darkness spread rapidly, and in the blink of an eye, the Pitch-dark World once again enveloped the land!

Within the Pitch-dark World, the bodies of Wen Yu and Faceless instantly exploded. They used the dislimning ability to merge with the Pitch-dark World.

Then, the Pitch-dark World began to shrink slowly!

1,000 meters, 800 meters, 500 meters...

The Pitch-dark World continued to shrink until it formed a hemisphere just ten meters in diameter, where it finally stopped.

Then, before the Ancient Demon spawn’s astonished eyes, the entire Pitch-dark World swiftly transformed into a ten-meter-tall black phantom wielding a massive battle saber!

The phantom’s form was extremely indistinct, occasionally emitting faint wisps of Black Light that quickly dissipated into the surrounding air.

This indicated that Wen Yu’s current Power Level was insufficient to fully manifest the Pitch-dark Demon Lord.

However, even an incomplete Pitch-dark Demon Lord possessed enough attack power to match an Esoteric Level skill!

The Pitch-dark Demon Lord’s body, formed from the Pitch-dark World, pulsed with countless rays of black light. Various darkness-enhancing and amplifying abilities were being wildly cast upon it. The battle saber in the Pitch-dark Demon Lord’s hand also emitted an eerie light!

The battle saber was forged from Faceless’s Pitch-dark World; the Dragon’s Aura Field condensed upon it, unwavering, coating the blade with a layer of silver light.

The next second...

The Pitch-dark Demon Lord strode forward and brought its battle saber down heavily upon Dimensional Asylum!
