Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 309: Chapter 99: Break Through! (Two in One)_1

After a week together, Wen Yu’s strength had completely won over the once-picky youngster.

Now, in Hao Yun’s eyes, Wen Yu’s power was on par with Kuangliu’s.

And his address for Wen Yu had changed from ’Officer’ at first to ’Boss’ now.

Hearing Hao Yun, Wen Yu took out his communicator.

Unfortunately, due to heavy radiation, the communicator only emitted crackling noises.

Pocketing the communicator again, Wen Yu looked at the surrounding warriors. They were staring in shock at the faintly visible Bipedal Lizard Pyramid in the distance. He calmly began to speak.

”Everyone, listen to me.”

His voice wasn’t loud, but its inherent tranquility drew the warriors’ attention to him.

”You all see the current situation. I’m not going to feed you some bullshit about how ’we will definitely win.’ According to my estimates, and given the speed of that Bipedal Lizard Pyramid, it probably can’t be stopped. That means those Level 5 Bipedal Lizards will definitely charge into the outpost!”

”However, I want to point out that according to the original battle plan, this thing isn’t our strategic target. It should be the high command’s target.”

”And in terms of strength, we don’t have what it takes to stop this thing.”

Saying this, Wen Yu paused slightly, glanced at the somewhat listless military warriors, and spoke again.

”But do you know what our greatest strength as humans is?”

Hearing Wen Yu’s question, everyone present remained silent.

”It’s cooperation! A clear division of labor!”

”That thing...”

Wen Yu turned and pointed at the rapidly advancing Bipedal Lizard Pyramid in the distance, speaking loudly.

”We can’t handle it, but I believe the military command must already have a solution! I’m sure of it!”

In fact, Wen Yu wasn’t sure if the military had a solution, but whether they did or not, he had to say they did right now!

”Right now, we should leave that behemoth to the command to handle. We need to intercept the Bipedal Lizards crawling out from the underground battlefield. This is what we *can* do, and what we *should* do!”

Hearing Wen Yu’s words, the crowd remained silent...

From Wen Yu’s perspective, it was rather awkward.

It turned out Wen Yu wasn’t very good at speeches... and these military warriors weren’t so easily swayed.

Fortunately, others were present.

Hearing Wen Yu, Xiao Xue clapped her hands, drawing most people’s attention. Then, she began to speak in a clear voice.

”From the moment you joined the army, you became soldiers, warriors, heroes ready to sacrifice for Cathay at any moment!”

”I know what you’re thinking. I know what you’re worried about.”

”Once the outpost is breached, the exit of the treasure land will be blocked by those behemoths, and we might end up trapped like turtles in a jar.”

”But I need to remind you: if we don’t fight, if we just stand here trembling while watching that Bipedal Lizard Pyramid in the distance, then we will be the ones to die!”

”The military has a slogan: ’Soldiers aren’t afraid of death. If you’re afraid of death, don’t be a soldier!’”

”But I also want to remind you of something else: in this shitty world, the more you fear death, the faster you’ll die!”

”So now, for your own sakes, pick up your weapons and prepare to fight!”

Xiao Xue’s voice grew louder and louder until finally, she roared at the warriors.

It turned out these military warriors did have some basic discipline. Even those who had joined the military after the apocalypse, after a moment’s thought, quickly fell into formation before Wen Yu.

Seeing this, Wen Yu nodded.

Setting aside everything else, the caliber of these men alone showed that the military still possessed strong combat power and cohesion.

After a moment, Wen Yu spoke.

”The military won’t lose, and we won’t die. But now, we need to do what we must.”

”That is, clear out the Bipedal Lizards emerging from the frontline battlefield and prevent them from massing to attack the outpost!”

”Now, divide into groups.”

Wen Yu finished speaking and immediately handed the map to Xiao Xue.

This kind of thing was best left to the professionals!

...

Meanwhile, as Wen Yu was busily organizing the soldiers, at the entrance to the outpost treasure land, low-ranking soldiers and technical personnel had already begun to evacuate in droves.

These individuals weren’t numerous in the outpost to begin with. Under an orderly evacuation, these personnel had completed their evacuation in a short period.

Then, the second nuclear bomb was launched!

...

The 200-kiloton nuclear bomb possessed truly terrifying power!

By this time, the Bipedal Lizard Pyramid had reached a position midway between Demon City and the outpost, and was still advancing at extreme speed.

With the detonation of the new nuclear bomb, the entire outpost treasure land trembled.

Wen Yu and the others on the frontline battlefield naturally witnessed this nuclear explosion as well!

The violent shockwave made Wen Yu’s clothes whip about. Fortunately, Xiao Xue had predicted earlier that the military would use nuclear weapons again, so everyone had already moved out of the nuclear blast’s kill zone.
