Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 285: Chapter 77: Terrifying Blood Beast! (Additional update for 100 monthly tickets)_1

Upon hearing the roar of the Ancient Demon spawn, the red light in the eyes of the Soot Skin Demon Fiend standing at the foot of the city wall suddenly flared intensely.

Then, around the Demon City, the corpses of the Demon Fiends previously killed by Wen Yu and the army’s super warriors began to stir rapidly. Over several days, countless Demon Fiends had died at the foot of the Demon City, and the surrounding area was permeated by a foul, decaying stench. The putrid Demon Blood had even seeped deep into the ground, leaving only dark stains.

As the Soot Skin Demon Fiend’s skill activated, the Demon Blood that had already seeped underground or dried on the surface began to condense rapidly. It seemed to be controlled by an unknown force, continuously surging from the ground, carrying with it scattered limbs and severed arms, and ceaselessly solidifying in front of the Soot Skin Demon Fiend. In an instant, it appeared as though a black rain of blood had fallen around the entire Demon City; countless droplets flew into the sky, then converged in front of the Soot Skin Demon Fiend.

Seeing this, the Ancient Demon spawn smirked twice and simultaneously linked its thoughts to the black stone pillar within the Demon City. As a large amount of Demonic Qi surged out from the three Demon Realm Gates and was rapidly absorbed by the black stone pillar, the Demon City’s protective barrier suddenly expanded its range, directly enveloping the Soot Skin Demon Fiend at the foot of the city wall.

Star naturally noticed the changes on the battlefield. He quickly unleashed a Dragon Flame towards the Soot Skin Demon Fiend, but it was blocked by the protective barrier. Then, Star, his power undiminished, focused on the constantly congealing black mass before him and unleashed another Dragon Flame.

The giant meatball of congealed flesh and blood pulsated incessantly, as if gestating some form of life. Star’s Dragon Flame struck the meatball but failed to unleash its expected destructive power.

Facing this unknown scene and sensing the pressure emanating from the meatball, Star halted, carefully observing the unknown object before him.

...

Wen Yu had naturally seen the situation near the Demon City.

Slightly withdrawing from the battle, Wen Yu gazed at the constantly pulsating black sphere before the Demon City, apparently lost in thought.

In the distance, Kuangliu had already slain seven Demon Fiends and was heading towards Wen Yu’s location.

”Looks like this is the trump card of these Demon Fiends,” Kuangliu said.

Wen Yu nodded.

This situation undoubtedly did not exceed their predictions. What they hadn’t anticipated, however, was that the Demon Fiends sent out to die were not meant to trigger some curse or barrier, but to coalesce into a massive, unknown entity. This meant Wen Yu and Kuangliu’s tactic of shifting the battlefield was entirely nullified.

But...

”It’s pretty useless, isn’t it?” Wen Yu remarked.

Perhaps Wen Yu, with only his three soul pets, would have struggled against these Level 4 Demon Fiends. But adding Kuangliu, whose combat prowess rivaled that of a divine beast, the Human Race’s strength on this battlefield far exceeded that of the Demon Fiends! This was something the Demon Fiends had not anticipated. In fact, even Wen Yu hadn’t expected Kuangliu’s combat abilities to be so formidable.

Hearing Wen Yu’s words, Kuangliu surveyed the battle around them.

Cyclops and Faceless had already torn apart three Level 4 Demon Fiends. It looked as though they could conclude their battle shortly, so Wen Yu and Kuangliu didn’t need to intervene there.

On Star’s front, only two demon spawns and one Level 4 Soot Skin Demon Fiend remained alive. Moreover, both demon spawns were severely injured.

By all appearances, victory in this battle was already assured.

Just as Kuangliu and Wen Yu both thought the overall situation was settled, the black mass in front of Star began to change.

...

The large meatball conjured from Demon Blood slowly cracked open, and an eerie creature crawled out from within.

Its body was completely devoid of hair, smooth and bald. Its slimy skin seemed to flow with a Black Light. The creature was nearly five meters tall. Outwardly, it resembled a giant spherical organism with a large belly and short, stubby legs.

The moment this bizarre creature appeared, the Ancient Demon spawn let out a series of piercing, deranged laughs. It looked towards Star, its eyes glinting with murderous intent.

”Kill him!” Words in the Demon Realm Language, filled with hatred, spilled from the Ancient Demon spawn’s mouth. Then, the Soot Skin Demon Fiend nodded slightly, its entire body transformed into a streak of black light and shot directly into the bizarre creature.

Blood Beast (SSS-Class, Active Ability): Condenses blood from the surroundings to form a Blood Beast. The Blood Beast’s strength is determined by the amount of blood on the battlefield. Upon summoning, the host can enter the Blood Beast’s body to act as its control core. After learning this skill, the user cannot master other abilities. Furthermore, the Blood Beast can only exist for one day. The Blood Beast will possess four abilities.

Blood Beast Ability One: Immortality (SSS-Class, Passive Ability): The Blood Beast itself is formed from condensed blood and pulses with strange Energy Fluctuations. Even if damaged, it will regenerate swiftly. During its one-day existence, the Blood Beast is effectively immortal!

Blood Beast Ability Two: Permanent Form (SS-Class, Passive Ability): When the host forms a Union with the Blood Beast, it can undergo a one-time morphological transformation. It can change into any form, but this change is irreversible. Simultaneously, the Blood Beast’s physical attributes will be determined by the amount of blood used in its creation and its chosen form after transformation. These attributes will not be affected by any buffs or debuffs.

Blood Beast Ability Three: Blood Corruption (SS-Class, Passive Ability): All of the Blood Beast’s attacks carry a corrosive power. This power significantly weakens an opponent’s defense capabilities and inflicts substantial damage. In essence, the Blood Beast’s attacks ignore defense capabilities.

Blood Beast Ability Four: Blood Drain (S-Class, Passive Ability): Being formed from condensed blood, the Blood Beast inflicts a terrifying bleeding effect on enemies it damages in battle.

Although the Blood Beast ability itself is powerful, its strict activation requirements and the preclusion of learning other abilities make it difficult to definitively label it as good or bad. Without a doubt, though, once the Blood Beast was formed, its combat capabilities were utterly horrifying.

The Blood Beast, now merged with the Soot Skin Demon Fiend, immediately began to transform. It possessed sturdy limbs, wings that seemed forged from metal, a terrifying dragon-like maw filled with Sharp Teeth and Claws, and black scales that shimmered with a faint halo in the air. In a very short time, the Blood Beast had assumed Star’s form.

Clearly, the Soot Skin Demon Fiend, having observed the battle for a long time, believed Star’s physique was the perfect Killing Machine. Permanent Form (SS-Class, Passive Ability) activated! Of course, this ability only replicated Star’s form, not his skills, but that alone was terrifying enough.

...

The Blood Beast roared fiercely and charged straight at Star.

Seeing a creature identical to himself before him, Star immediately flew into a rage. His wings spread slightly, his limbs unleashed tremendous power, and his massive body shot like a cannonball toward the Blood Beast.

In a brief moment, the two identical creatures crashed into each other.

BOOM!

A terrible explosion echoed throughout the field.

After a brief clash, neither monster retreated an inch. They brandished their sharp claws and teeth, relentlessly tearing at each other.

Wen Yu, seeing the Blood Beast entangled with Star, couldn’t help but frown. So strong!

However, Wen Yu was unaware that the Blood Beast’s strength was far greater than this.

The Permanent Form (SS-Class, Passive Ability) not only mimicked Star’s physique but also replicated Star’s species innate talent as a divine beast! This meant the Blood Beast, in Star’s form, was a complete divine beast and would not be affected by the Suppression of the Dragon’s Aura Field.

Furthermore, with the numerous Demon Fiends that had perished on the battlefield, including many recently killed Level 4 Demon Fiends, this Blood Beast’s physical attributes had already been elevated to Star’s level!

A full 600 points of physical attributes, befitting a divine beast!
