Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 274: Chapter 67: Stalemate and Reinforcement (800 monthly tickets added!)_1

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s words, the admiration in Zhao Mingming’s eyes deepened.

Ever since this treasure land opened, Cathay’s military had consistently adopted a defensive stance, rarely daring to confront the Demon Tribe head-on.

But the moment this human appeared, he immediately changed the situation, trapping countless Demon Fiends within the Demon City!

It was certain that if the Demon City lacked this protective barrier, all the Demon Fiends within would face a bloody slaughter!

Wen Yu shrugged at Zhao Mingming’s star-struck gaze.

”You head back first. Leave the communicator with me.”

”Reporting to the commander, the command department has appointed me as the commander’s communication officer, so...”

Wen Yu waved his hand, cutting Zhao Mingming off.

”Just tell them I said so. It’s not safe for you here.”

It was predictable that once the Demon Tribe believed they had accumulated enough power to defeat Wen Yu, they would launch an attack on him.

At that time, a brutal battle would be inevitable!

In such a situation, Zhao Mingming, with his level of strength, would likely be obliterated without a trace.

”Yes, sir!”

Zhao Mingming wanted to stay, but facing Wen Yu’s direct order, he had no choice but to comply.

The sky within the treasure land was an eternal, vast expanse of white.

At this moment, Wen Yu was sitting 10,000 meters before the Demon City, continuously stuffing food into his mouth.

Cyclops and Star, already in their Mini Forms, rested quietly nearby.

After quickly replenishing his body’s required energy, Wen Yu raised his head and looked towards the Demon City, 10,000 meters distant.

On the city wall, two Level 4 Demon Fiends still stood in their spots, sizing up Wen Yu.

Perhaps, having received intelligence on Wen Yu’s strength and believing that emerging would only mean death, they simply remained where they were, quietly observing Wen Yu’s every move.

The 10,000-meter distance was just within the visual range of a Level 4 being. Moreover, the unobstructed environment of this treasure land allowed both sides to clearly see each other.

Wen Yu offered the leading Ancient Demon a slight smile, raising his water bottle in a mock toast.

In return, he received only the Ancient Demon’s ghastly grin and a throat-slitting gesture.

Amidst this eerie atmosphere, the Demon Realm’s Gate within the Demon City began to change!

A large quantity of Demonic Qi spewed forth, only to be swiftly absorbed by the black column.

Then, an enormous silhouette squeezed out from the Demon Realm’s Gate!

A 20-meter-tall figure with greenish-white skin emerged. Violent power fluctuations emanated from its body, instantly scattering the Low-grade demonic creatures crowded around the Demon Realm’s Gate.

This was undoubtedly a Level 4 Demon Fiend.

This Demon Fiend first surveyed the dense group of Low-grade demonic creatures around him, then looked at the two Level 4 Demon Fiends standing on the wall, before erupting into a thunderous roar.

”Why haven’t you taken action yet?!”

A massive sound wave surged from this Demon Fiend’s mouth. The Demon Realm Language he spoke echoed far and wide, so potent that even Wen Yu, outside the city, could hear it.

”Another Level 4...” Wen Yu muttered, his gaze towards the Demon City filled with fighting spirit.

Still not enough...

On the city wall, hearing the Blue-skinned Demon’s voice, the Ancient Demon turned his head slightly, pointed towards Wen Yu seated below the city, and spoke.

”Down there is a supremely powerful expert of the Human Race. He has us trapped here...”

Upon hearing this, the Blue-skinned Demon let out a heaven-and-earth-shaking laugh and immediately strode towards the city wall.

”A mere insect from the Human Race has scared you to this extent? You are unworthy of being called Demon Tribe!”

The Blue-skinned Demon was massive, with long strides; it didn’t take him long to reach the foot of the city wall.

Only now, by comparison, was it evident just how tall the Blue-skinned Demon was.

This Demon Fiend didn’t even need to stand on the city wall; he could simply peer over it to observe the situation below.

Seeing the sudden appearance of the large blue head, Wen Yu smiled at the peeking Demon Fiend.

This smile was, of course, also noticed by the Demon Fiend.

”Just one little bug, and you’re all cowering like this! Watch how the warriors of the great Blue Steel Clan fight!”

Indistinct roars erupted from the Blue-skinned Demon’s mouth, his foul-smelling saliva splattering everywhere like rain, drenching the Ancient Demon and the other Level 4 Demon Fiend from head to toe.

The Ancient Demon quietly wiped the slime from his face and merely shrugged in response to the Blue-skinned Demon’s words.

”You think you can do better? Go on!”

Watching the Blue-skinned Demon suddenly leap from the city wall, the Ancient Demon on the ramparts shrugged at Wen Yu.

Wen Yu had naturally seen the verbal altercation between the two Demon Fiends on the wall. Although he didn’t understand what they were saying, it didn’t prevent him from getting a general idea of what had transpired.

Evidently, just from observing this rapidly approaching blue-skinned behemoth, Wen Yu deduced two things.

One: There were also contradictions and power struggles within the Demon Tribe! Two: This large blue creature... isn’t very intelligent...

Slowly rising to his feet, Wen Yu instantly entered combat mode.

Mad Medley in his hand quickly extended. Then, his expression turning serious, he carefully watched the Blue-skinned Demon’s movements.

Judging by its speed, it was undoubtedly a Level 4 Demon Fiend!

BOOM!

Mad Medley sounded!

A massive energy projectile shot towards the Blue-skinned Demon, only to be shattered by the Demon Fiend’s punch.

Its massive body endowed it with enormous strength. Thus, even though its physique points were only around 400, it still shattered a projectile equivalent to an attack launched with 800 physique points.

However, Mad Medley’s attack was not entirely in vain.

The moment the projectile collided with the massive blue fist, its kinetic force was completely nullified by the Blue-skinned Demon, but its special effect had already activated!

The power of Annihilation tore a large chunk from the Blue-skinned Demon’s fist. Combined with the effects of the subsequent explosion and tearing, the Blue-skinned Demon’s right fist was utterly destroyed, only a shred of flesh left dangling from his wrist.

Humans, although not as physically strong as Demon Fiends, possess an ability to use tools that far surpasses the rudimentary level of the Demon Fiends.

Even after sustaining such grievous damage, the Blue-skinned Demon remained expressionless and charged wildly at Wen Yu. Simultaneously, a white light constantly emanated from the wound on his wrist.

This might be some kind of healing ability, but in my opinion, it’s utterly useless!

Palpitation appeared, working in concert with Mad Medley to shower the Blue-skinned Demon with projectiles!

Since obtaining Palpitation and Mad Medley, Wen Yu’s combat style had undergone a significant transformation.

He now seldom had to resort to Touch of Greed for bloody melee combat. More often, Wen Yu preferred using ranged attacks to directly obliterate an enemy’s body and Soul.

Facing the overwhelming deluge of projectiles, the Blue-skinned Demon stumbled.

The power of Soul Strike inherent in Palpitation caused the Blue-skinned Demon’s Soul to sting intensely. His body was immobilized, leaving him no choice but to endure wave after wave of attacks.

Then, Mad Medley delivered the killing blow!

A saucer-sized projectile sped towards the Blue-skinned Demon. Just as he was about to raise his hand to block the projectile aimed at his head, Mad Medley’s projectile changed direction in mid-air!

Attribute Five: Augment: Mad Medley’s attacks can be imbued with all of the host’s abilities!

Skyward (C-Class Active Ability): Once activated, it can defy the laws of motion, allowing a projectile to arbitrarily change its direction of movement once.

The synergy of these two abilities made the attacks from Palpitation and Mad Medley far more difficult to evade.

The Blue-skinned Demon’s attempt to block the projectile was futile. Accompanied by a bloodcurdling, earth-shattering scream, the top of the Blue-skinned Demon’s skull was blown clean off, revealing the pale black brain matter within.

Then, Palpitation’s projectile drilled into the Blue-skinned Demon’s exposed brain!

Though the projectile was small, it was exceptionally deadly.

CRASH...

All life signs from the Blue-skinned Demon vanished. Its 20-meter-tall body crashed backward to the ground, kicking up a large cloud of dust.

Wen Yu looked at the dead Blue-skinned Demon lying about a thousand meters before him, then turned his gaze to the Ancient Demon on the city wall.

The Ancient Demon showed no expression, merely uttering a single sentence in the Demon Realm Language.

”Idiot!”
