Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 284: Chapter 76: Clear Battle Situation_1

The huge battle saber extended endlessly. Under Kuangliu’s power, the entire blade seemed to vanish, leaving only whistling sound explosions reverberating around the battlefield! Each swing of the saber unleashed a brilliant Blue Light, as terrifying Ray energy danced around the entire area. Simultaneously, a giant White Tiger illusion roared silently around Kuangliu, protecting him and shredding any Demon Fiend that dared to approach!

In a short time, half of the eight surrounding Level 4 Demon Fiends were ripped apart by Kuangliu’s terrifying power, forcing the rest to retreat rapidly! However, under Kuangliu’s overwhelming physique of over 2,000 points, where could they possibly retreat? The seven Level 4 Demon Fiends that had split off from Star’s battlefield quickly approached, but they were powerless to save these struggling comrades.

Witnessing Kuangliu’s might, Wen Yu aimed Palpitation and Mad Medley at an oddly shaped Level 4 Demon Fiend and pulled the trigger. The Level 4 Demon Fiend was already preoccupied with defending against Kuangliu’s battle saber and the rampant Ray energy; it had no effective countermeasures for Wen Yu’s attack. Two bullets of different sizes and shapes shot towards the Demon Fiend, their trajectories made unpredictable by the embedded Skyward ability. The Demon Fiend had neither the time nor the ability to block the incoming bullets. As Palpitation’s attack struck its body, a piercing pain shot through the Demon Fiend’s head, rendering it unable to do anything but remain rooted to the spot, howling in agony. Then, Mad Medley’s attack followed! A single shot completely obliterated the Demon Fiend’s head!

At that moment, facing the combined assault of Kuangliu and Wen Yu, the surrounding Demon Fiends had no chance to retaliate.

...

”Stealing kills, are we?” Kuangliu joked, casually swatting a Demon Fiend aside while leisurely taunting Wen Yu.

Wen Yu shrugged, admitting to the kill-steal. Bullets flew rapidly from Palpitation and Mad Medley in his hands. Enhanced by his Skyward ability, they continuously changed direction in mid-air before drilling into another Demon Fiend’s body. A violent explosion erupted. The impacted Demon Fiend’s body was torn apart by Mad Medley’s special effect, reducing it to a gory mess of flesh and blood on the ground.

Before the seven distant Demon Fiends could even approach, Wen Yu and Kuangliu’s combined efforts had already wiped out the initial eight surrounding them!

Kuangliu casually shook his clean battle saber, licked his lips slightly, and eyed the seven approaching Level 4 Demon Fiends. The Ray energy around his body suddenly flared, and he charged straight at them!

Wen Yu watched Kuangliu move at a speed that made his figure a blur, then silently put away his two guns. He turned and walked towards Cyclops’s position. Kuangliu alone was more than enough to handle seven Demon Fiends. There was no need to worry about Star’s situation either, as the Dragon’s Aura Field was indiscriminate, affecting friend and foe alike. If Wen Yu were to rush in recklessly, his strength would undoubtedly be weakened to an unimaginable degree. However, Wen Yu could still lend a hand where Cyclops and Faceless were fighting.

「The Ancient Demon spawn, wielding a huge battle axe, was engaged in a continuous struggle against Star, alongside the giant serpent demon spawn. Of course, the combined power of the two demon spawns was still somewhat lacking against Star.」

A faint, rotten smell continuously emanated from the battle axe. Each time it struck Star, it left a charred mark on his body.

Summon Demon-Armament (S-Class, Active Ability): Concentrate the power within the body to summon various weapons or defensive tools. The summoned weapons or defensive tools can only be used by the host and will possess special effects.

The dark battle axe was the weapon summoned by the Ancient Demon spawn, and it possessed an extremely potent corrosive effect. Unfortunately, these were useless against Star.

The Ancient Demon spawn currently had a physique of over 200 points. However, after Star activated Dragon Blood Amplification, his physique had soared to 600 points. This threefold disparity made the Ancient Demon spawn’s attempts to withstand Star’s attacks look utterly desperate. Fortunately for them, it was a two-on-one fight.

Star’s tail lashed out heavily, and the surrounding air instantly erupted with a deafening BANG! The enormous force carried an incredibly violent impact. As it smashed down towards the Ancient Demon spawn, the creature raised its battle axe high, and simultaneously, a suit of dark battle armor materialized around its body.

BOOM!

The Ancient Demon spawn was driven into the ground by Star like a nail, spitting out a mouthful of pitch-black liquid. Simultaneously, the battle axe in its hand and the black battle armor encasing its body shattered into pieces, transforming into a stream of black Demonic Qi that was reabsorbed by the Ancient Demon spawn. With a single blow, Star had severely wounded the Ancient Demon spawn.

Just as Star was about to press his advantage and finish off the Ancient Demon spawn, the nearby giant serpent demon spawn swiftly darted onto Star’s body, coiling around his four legs. Like a constantly constricting rope, the giant serpent demon spawn’s body tightened around Star, causing him to stumble and momentarily halting his pursuit of the Ancient Demon spawn.

Snake Coil (A-Class, Active Ability): A natural serpentine ability to tightly wrap around prey, immobilizing it.

The offensive power of this ability was terrifying. Against an opponent of equal physical strength, once ensnared by the giant serpent demon spawn’s Snake Coil, there would be absolutely no chance of escape; they would inevitably become its prey. Unfortunately for the demon spawns, due to the combined effects of the Dragon’s Aura Field and Dragon Blood Amplification, their physical attributes were diminished while Star’s were enhanced. Star, who originally had 200 physique points, now possessed physical strength far exceeding that of the two demon spawns.

Star strained with all his might. The giant serpent demon spawn’s body creaked as if it were about to be torn apart. Meanwhile, Dragon Flame erupted from Star’s mouth, spraying directly towards the distant Ancient Demon spawn. The red glow of the approaching Dragon Flame intensified before the Ancient Demon spawn. A flicker of panic crossed its eyes as a round shield instantly materialized in front of it.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Three consecutive explosions shattered the Ancient Demon spawn’s armament defense, and the strengthened Dragon Flame then engulfed it. The Ancient Demon spawn, engulfed in the blaze, let out a horrific scream. Simultaneously, the giant serpent demon spawn under Star’s feet began to disintegrate, black Demon Blood gushing continuously from its breaking body.

Shedding activated!

In an instant, the giant serpent demon spawn’s body reappeared beside the Ancient Demon spawn. The Ancient Demon spawn’s injuries then rapidly healed under the influence of a Black Light. This was the Ancient Demon spawn’s fourth ability.

Reconstruction (S-Class, Active Ability): Consumes a large amount of stamina to activate. Upon use, it can completely restore the host’s injuries.

It was an extremely effective healing ability, though its cost was indeed quite high. Judging by the Ancient Demon spawn standing there, panting heavily, it was clear that even with its power, it couldn’t use this ability many times.

Seeing Star charge towards them again, the Ancient Demon spawn patted the giant serpent demon spawn beside it.

”Go! Back to the city wall! Quickly!”

Hearing the Ancient Demon spawn’s command, the giant serpent demon spawn immediately opened its massive jaws and swallowed the Ancient Demon spawn whole.

Snake Swallow (B-Class, Active Ability): The feeding method of serpentine creatures, allowing the host to swallow enemy units whole and then rapidly digest them.

This was essentially an offensive ability. The giant serpent demon spawn could use it to swallow opponents whole; even powerful experts of the same level would be quickly digested by the terrifying power within its stomach. But now, it was being used to help the Ancient Demon spawn escape!

After swallowing the Ancient Demon spawn, the giant serpent demon spawn sped straight towards the Magical City Wall.

BOOM!

The Dragon Flame exploded against the giant serpent demon spawn, causing it to activate Shedding instantly. As a layer of snakeskin fell to the ground, the giant serpent demon spawn’s figure reappeared 1,000 meters ahead. Star targeted the giant serpent demon spawn, unfurled his wings, and shot towards it at high speed. Reaching its side, he tore into its body with both front claws! Unfortunately, it was only another shed skin.

In just one minute, the giant serpent demon spawn used Shedding eight times, pushing itself to the limit to reach the Magical City Wall. It then used the power of the Demon City Shield to block Star outside.

Its mouth suddenly bulged, and then the Ancient Demon spawn’s body was spat out by the giant serpent demon spawn. Covered in mucus, its hide a corroded and ruined mess, the Ancient Demon spawn let out a soul-tearing roar.

”Blood Beast! Activate, quickly! I will kill it!!!”
