Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 240: Chapter 37: Sweeping and Disappearing (Additional Chapter for 400 Monthly Votes)_1

In Central City, after dinner and a bath, Wen Yu received a message from Wang Zhigang.

According to information from his subordinates, the ”gangster” leader, Guan Tao, was dead. All of Guan Tao’s men were now under the control of a man named Wanping.

”Wanping???”

Upon hearing the name Wanping, Wen Yu was taken aback.

”Are you sure his name is Wanping?”

Seeing Wen Yu’s surprised and puzzled look, Wang Zhigang nodded slightly.

”Yes, his name is Wanping. Moreover, according to reports, this guy has two faces on his chest and can emit a shockwave. One of those faces belongs to Guan Tao!”

Hearing Wang Zhigang’s description of Wanping’s specific traits, Wen Yu instantly fell silent.

He couldn’t believe that two professionals of that level had appeared in a small place like Mudanjiang City.

The reason was simple: not enough resources!

It was very difficult for Mudanjiang City to support one Simba, let alone another Wanping. The resources, like zombie mutant beasts in the surrounding area, had already been nearly depleted. If another one appeared...

Wen Yu shook his head, pushing aside his confusion about Wanping’s ”rebirth,” and asked Wang Zhigang directly, ”Where is Wanping now?”

”He’s at their group’s headquarters.”

Wen Yu nodded and walked out.

If he was reborn, then I’ll just kill him again. It’s a simple choice, and a simple task for me.

Wen Yu moved quickly and didn’t take long to reach the location Wang Zhigang had provided.

It was a huge factory area. The periphery had been fenced off with barbed wire by the professionists inside, clearly marking the area as their territory.

Wen Yu, with Star on his head and Cyclops in his arms, slowly approached the factory entrance.

”Stop! Who are you?”

Before Wen Yu could get close, a professionist guarding the entrance stopped him.

The guard, likely finding Wen Yu and his two combat pets intimidating, first grabbed a nearby steel saber. He then pulled out his communicator to relay a message to the people inside the factory. This seemed to bolster his courage slightly as he strode towards Wen Yu.

”Who do you think you are, just standing there? Don’t you know this is the Mighty Tiger Battalion’s territory?”

Wen Yu glanced at the approaching professionist. ”Is Wanping in there?” he asked directly.

”Who the hell are you? What makes you think you’re qualified to see our Ping?”

Hearing Wen Yu’s question, the professionist started cursing, simultaneously reaching out as if to ”teach him a lesson.”

Unfortunately for him, Wen Yu’s question wasn’t directed at him.

”WOOF WOOF.” Cyclops confirmed, ”Wanping’s scent is inside.”

Wen Yu nodded. ”Understood.” He then pulled out Palpitation, aiming it at the professionist who was about to reach him.

”Wait...”

Seeing the gun, the professionist panicked and was about to say something.

BANG!

The gunshot echoed.

Wen Yu strode past the fallen professionist’s body and headed into the factory complex.

Since Wanping is here, there’s no need for words. I’ll just eliminate everyone and everything.

Professionists inside the factory heard the commotion from the guardhouse at the entrance and immediately rushed out.

When they saw Wen Yu striding boldly forward and the dead guard behind him, they were taken aback.

Subsequently, the factory alarm blared. The professionists rushing out, some wielding steel sabers and others unleashing skills, fiercely attacked Wen Yu.

Facing the oncoming professionists, Wen Yu unhesitatingly drew Palpitation and Mad Medley. He aimed at these fools who didn’t know death when they saw it and mercilessly pulled the triggers.

For a time, the entire factory area echoed with gunshots, explosions, and the final, desperate cries of the dying.

In a short time, everything fell silent.

”Let’s go, Cyclops. Find Wanping’s location.”

Wen Yu briefly commanded Cyclops and then placed him on the ground.

Cyclops sniffed the ground a couple of times and immediately trotted into the main building in the center of the factory complex.

Wen Yu turned to look at the carnage on the ground.

Severed limbs and chunks of flesh were strewn everywhere, the result of Mad Medley’s power.

Other professionists had only an almost insignificant bullet hole on their bodies, yet their minds had been completely destroyed—the effect of Palpitation.

Of course, many more professionists had not dared to rush out from other areas.

After all, witnessing Wen Yu’s massacre-like combat, these individuals had utterly lost the courage to attack him.

Wen Yu couldn’t be bothered with them for now and followed Cyclops into the building.

The building’s interior was quiet. However, with Wen Yu’s current strength, he could discern the faint sounds of breathing scattered throughout.

However, since these hidden individuals posed no immediate threat by not showing themselves, Wen Yu didn’t mind sparing their lives for the time being.

As Wen Yu continued upward, it wasn’t long before Cyclops stopped before an office door on the top floor.

Wen Yu looked up at the ”Chairman’s Office” plaque above the door and couldn’t help but frown.

With such a huge commotion outside, Wanping must have heard it; even Cyclops wouldn’t believe he hadn’t.

Yet, Wanping hadn’t appeared. And Cyclops’s senses pinpointed his location to this very room. There could only be two explanations!

”Cyclops, break in.”

Wen Yu gestured to Cyclops.

Cyclops looked from his master to the office door, then rolled his eyes. In his Mini Form, his small body smashed right through the office door.

Then, nothing happened...

Looks like he escaped!

Sighing, Wen Yu walked into the room to examine its layout.

The room wasn’t large; one couldn’t expect luxury from an office situated in a factory. It contained only a few sofas, an office desk, and a couple of potted plants whose leaves had already yellowed.

Wen Yu slowly walked to the office desk and picked up a photo frame placed in its most prominent position.

The photograph in the frame was yellowed and bore specks of blood. Some torn parts had been mended with transparent tape. Though old and damaged, it was evident how much its owner cherished it.

Wen Yu quietly studied the four young men in the photo.

Familiar faces, though they looked slightly naive, all four young men in the photo were smiling joyfully.

Guan Tao, Wanping, Wan’an, and Lin Li.

Behind the four of them, a massive stone monument was engraved with three large characters: ”Sky’s End.”
