Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 234: Chapter 31: Faceless_1

After Wen Yu had finished communicating with Star and Cyclops, he studied Wanping before him seriously.

At this point, Wanping looked truly miserable!

Although Wanping’s skills had disabled Palpitation and Mad Medley, they did not negate Wen Yu’s inherent physical fitness or his close-combat experience, honed over countless battles!

In a combat state, Wen Yu’s physical fitness was a full 400 points, a number Wanping could only dream of reaching!

Therefore, Wanping, who had wanted to engage in close combat, was undoubtedly taught a harsh lesson by Wen Yu!

If it weren’t for the two faces on Wanping’s chest—both of which had already opened their eyes and were emitting red rays from their eyes and mouths that Wen Yu found impossible to defend against—defeating Wanping could have been even faster.

”However, it’s time to end it now!”

Looking at Wanping, blood-stained, scarred, and struggling to stand, Wen Yu spoke calmly. Simultaneously, he pushed off with his legs, propelling himself rapidly toward Wanping.

His right hand shot up, raising the Touch of Greed high. It stirred a fierce gust of wind as it clawed directly at Wanping’s head!

The injuries and significant blood loss left Wanping somewhat slow to react. Watching Wen Yu’s Touch of Greed descend upon him, Wanping hastily shifted his body, using his left hand to block the blow!

Blood splattered everywhere. Simultaneously, Wanping’s left hand dropped directly to the ground.

Soul Strike took effect!

Even without the amplification from Palpitation, the effect of Soul Strike was definitely not to be underestimated.

This was especially true when facing someone like Wanping, who clearly had issues with his mental state!

A bizarre Souln Fluctuation resonated in Wanping’s mind; the intense pain forced Wanping to let out a piercing scream!

What was even more terrifying was that both faces on Wanping’s body screamed at the same time!

The damage Soul Strike inflicted on Wanping was a full three times greater!

Facing Soul Strike’s terrifying damage, Wanping was immediately paralyzed by the intense pain, unable to move.

Wen Yu naturally wouldn’t miss such an opportunity. He immediately activated the skill his Soul Beast had gained upon advancing to Level 4.

Skyward (C-Class, Active Ability): Allows you to defy the laws of motion and change your direction once at will after activation!

Wen Yu, who had been charging forward, momentarily stopped. Then, maintaining his speed, he shot towards the side where Wanping had lost his left hand!

Before Wanping could react, Wen Yu had moved from directly in front of him to his left side!

Then, his claws thrust out, instantly piercing through Wanping’s left ribs and exiting through his right shoulder.

This attack marked the end of the battle!

Wen Yu used his left hand to hoist Wanping, impaled on the Touch of Greed, high into the air. Looking at Wanping’s pain-distorted face, Wen Yu felt no stirrings of emotion.

Since you wanted to cause trouble for Cyclops, it meant you were causing trouble for me. Therefore, you are an enemy.

Then, his right hand wielding the Touch of Greed moved quickly, ripping Wanping’s body into four segments.

Watching Wanping’s scattered remains lie on the ground, Wen Yu emotionlessly crushed Wanping’s lifeless head under his foot!

The fight was over!

Although Wanping’s strength was Level 4, the gap between one Level 4 combatant and another was truly significant!

After briefly sensing Star’s position in his mind, Wen Yu walked directly towards Star’s location.

「...」

At this point, Cyclops had arrived at Star’s location. He and Star were staring, wide-eyed, at the white dough on the ground.

Perhaps sensing danger, the white dough shuddered slightly, then rapidly extended some white threads, which began to wrap around Cyclops’s and Star’s heads.

Seeing this, Star and Cyclops immediately grew excited!

Without waiting for the white threads to take the initiative, Star and Cyclops thrust their heads forward, took deep breaths, and sucked the white threads into their mouths.

Then, the two soul pets staggered and fell to the ground. It took them less than three seconds to get through this ”rush”...

”How was it, Brother Dog?” Star called out to Cyclops.

”WOOF WOOF!”

”Great! That was amazing!”

Cyclops then glanced at the dough, which had shrunk by half, and said hesitantly, ”Do you think if we keep playing with it like this, we’ll kill it? Boss still wants this thing...”

Hearing Cyclops, Star hesitated for a moment before replying, ”Let’s do it one more time. Just once.”

Cyclops gritted his teeth. ”Alright, but remember, if Boss gets angry, we’re in this together!”

”Everyone knows Star is the most loyal!”

After their brief exchange, Cyclops and Star both extended their fingers and jabbed forcefully at the white dough.

Then, the threads emerged once more...

「...」

By the time Wen Yu arrived at Star’s location, he found the two soul pets excitedly poking at the white glob before them.

The white dough, originally the size of a washbasin, had now shrunk to the size of a fist.

Facing Star’s and Cyclops’s sharp claws, the white dough had stopped producing white threads three minutes prior and simply remained motionless where it was.

This annoyed Star and Cyclops so much they started shouting, even intensifying their prods.

As for the white dough, who knew what on earth it actually was. Even as Star and Cyclops used increasingly more force, they couldn’t damage it at all!

”What are you two doing?”

Seeing the mixed expressions of excitement and disappointment on Cyclops’s and Star’s faces, Wen Yu was a bit perplexed.

Hearing Wen Yu’s voice, Cyclops and Star immediately snapped to attention, their previous expressions vanishing as they stood obediently before Wen Yu.

Noticing the guilty expressions on the two soul pets, Wen Yu looked down at the white dough on the ground.

Unfortunately, Wen Yu didn’t know the dough’s original size. Naturally, he couldn’t tell that its volume—thanks to Cyclops’s and Star’s mischief—was now only a quarter of what it had been.

”This is it, right?”

Wen Yu took a few steps closer and picked up the motionless white dough from the ground.

After carefully observing the supposed sacred beast of the Demon Worship Sect, Wen Yu turned to Cyclops.

”Are you certain it’s this thing?”

Cyclops promptly nodded.

Wen Yu looked at the motionless dough in his hand, then at Star’s and Cyclops’s strange expressions, and couldn’t help but ask, ”Are you sure it looked like this when you first saw it?”

Cyclops’s head bobbed up and down rapidly.

”Mm-hm.”

Wen Yu didn’t delve deeper and directly activated his 4th Soul Realm Contract Fortune.

He had taken a liking to this thing.

「...」

As the purple light of the contract flickered, a mysterious purple glow enveloped the white dough.

Then, the purple light gradually seeped into the white dough’s body before disappearing.

At that moment, Wen Yu immediately sensed a mysterious Spiritual Fluctuation in his mind.

It was very powerful, almost comparable to Cyclops, yet it was a chaotic mess, completely devoid of consciousness.

It was like a zombie—a being with a body but no thoughts or intellect!

However, a fiery look flashed in Wen Yu’s eyes.

Even if it was a zombie beast, as long as it was strong enough and could be contracted, Wen Yu wouldn’t shy away from it!

Looking at the dough in his hand, which seemed to have regained a sliver of vitality and was trembling slightly, expressing a sense of closeness, Wen Yu paused for a moment before slowly saying, ”Since you can change into the form of any creature, from now on, I’ll call you Faceless.”
