Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 229: Chapter 27 Teasing You (Additional reward for cnm and cnb, Long Chapter)_1

Wen Yu cautiously sized up Wanping.

His strange body signified unknown power.

Although the professional system meant abilities were diverse, most followed discernible patterns.

The fact that Wanping had two faces on his chest and could fire Energy Waves put Wen Yu in a difficult position!

More importantly, Wanping showed no fear of Wen Yu’s Palpitation and Mad Medley.

This meant Wen Yu’s strongest and most effective methods of attack were mostly nullified!

Wanping glanced at Wen Yu, who was still firing. Feeling the rapid drain on his stamina, Wanping lunged towards him! He wanted close combat.

When Wen Yu saw that his Palpitation and Mad Medley attacks were ineffective, the Touch of Greed in his hand began to lengthen!

Close combat, that’s what Wen Yu wanted too!!!

「...」

Meanwhile, Cyclops and Simba, entangled in their fierce battle, had moved further and further away from Wen Yu and Wanping’s combat zone.

When they were far enough away, Cyclops disengaged from his close-quarters struggle with Simba and slowly retreated a few steps.

Simba, however, merely panted heavily where he stood, his large eyes warily watching Cyclops.

In terms of raw combat power, Simba was no match for Cyclops. Both Simba and Cyclops knew this.

So, Cyclops quickly composed himself and charged straight at Simba!

During the previous fight, Cyclops had been significantly wounded by Simba and the fake Cyclops. The last Savage Strike he endured had torn open his right flank, but thanks to the Blood and Flesh Badge’s power, the injury was merely superficial.

With the buff from his Mortal Combat ability, Cyclops’s physical attributes were now over 50 points higher than Simba’s!

Given their baseline physical attributes of 200 points each, this 50-point lead guaranteed Cyclops an absolute advantage!

With a furious roar from Cyclops, the two colossal beasts smashed violently into each other!

His superior physical attributes gave Cyclops the clear upper hand in their melee!

Black Flame Roars erupted from his maw as his sharp teeth and claws tore madly at Simba.

Although Simba was at a disadvantage, his ferocious wild instincts and a king’s pride drove him to fight Cyclops desperately, refusing to back down an inch!

The violent Flame Flow scorched the air, rapidly consuming the oxygen in this part of the battlefield.

The black-robed man, having repositioned himself nearby, observed the unfolding battle. He no longer stood by as an observer but stepped directly onto the battlefield!

Supporting Simba in this fight was a calculated decision by the black-robed man.

The black-robed man had just gotten a rough measure of Cyclops’s combat strength. If he allowed Cyclops to continue unchecked, Simba would likely be torn to shreds within five minutes!

And if Simba fell to Cyclops, it would trigger a cascading collapse across the entire battlefield!

The black-robed man slowly raised his right hand. The sand on the ground rapidly solidified, forming two spears, each over three meters long, in an instant.

Control the Sand’s Power (A-Class, Active Ability): Allows manipulation of sand within ten meters of the user to manifest various effects.

Strictly speaking, this ability didn’t fall under the elemental type, but its power was considerable, and its combat applications were versatile and unpredictable. The Sandstone Shield that had previously blocked Wen Yu’s attack was also created by this ability.

The black-robed man swept his hands forcefully, and the battlefield environment abruptly transformed!

At this moment, Cyclops was pouncing on Simba. His two foreclaws swung powerfully, landing repeated Savage Strikes on Simba’s body. His large mouth bit into Simba’s neck, and Black Light flashed continuously from within it.

Under such frequent and powerful assaults, Simba was nearly overwhelmed, barely able to retaliate.

However, Cyclops suddenly felt the ground beneath his hind legs give way!

A large sinkhole had instantly formed right where Cyclops’s hind legs stood.

Though Cyclops’s hind legs were powerful, they couldn’t maintain stability on unsupported ground.

Cyclops immediately stumbled. The forelimbs and teeth that had been attacking Simba released their hold as he tried to use them to brace himself and regain balance!

But how could the black-robed man allow the advantage he’d gained to simply vanish?

The sand on the ground began to shift faster, growing increasingly soft and loose.

This wasn’t all. Cyclops’s hind legs, trapped in the sinkhole, suddenly felt a sharp, pricking pain!

This too was an effect of Control the Sand’s Power.

Within the sinkhole, some of the sand had solidified into fine spikes that managed to pierce Cyclops’s tough hide, inflicting minor injuries!

Seeing Cyclops’s predicament, Simba seized the opportunity created by the black-robed man and landed another heavy blow on Cyclops’s teetering body!

Strong Power (E-Class, Active Ability): Briefly channels power to deliver a strike stronger than a normal attack.

This ability, which Simba had acquired upon reaching the Third-level, was considered weak. However, strictly speaking, abilities weren’t inherently strong or weak; their effectiveness depended more on the user. And Simba’s own strength, of course, was formidable!

The Strong Power slammed into Cyclops’s head, tearing away a chunk of grayish-white flesh.

Against Cyclops’s increasingly formidable physique, this was merely a superficial wound.

However, with Cyclops already on the verge of losing his balance, this Strong Power was the final straw.

Cyclops’s massive body crashed to the ground. Then, the black-robed man pushed his Control the Sand’s Power to its absolute limit!
