Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 206: Chapter 6: No Need to Be Low-Key (Additional updates 2/5 for yang199174)_1

Watching a spectacle is human nature!

And a spectacle as large as Cyclops was definitely a rarity, something many wouldn’t see in their entire lifetime. Moreover, when they saw the excited, thrilled, and happy ”baby army” in front of Cyclops, many professionists realized that this mutant beast didn’t hurt people.

So, when the first professionist followed behind Cyclops at a distance of less than 100 meters, they saw no overreaction from it. Consequently, the professionists along the way began to boil over with excitement!

Having walked for such a long time, any professionist could figure out the direction in which Cyclops was heading.

It was heading towards Central City.

A Level 4 mutant beast. Central City.

When these two terms were associated, it signified a major event!

Thus, a spectacular scene appeared in the long-quiet Mudanjiang City!

Wen Yu looked back at the long line of professionists trailing behind Cyclops and helplessly shook his head.

Making Cyclops grow larger was initially intended to make the road easier to travel. This was to avoid the nonsense of some oblivious fools attempting to rob them or demand road tolls!

Wen Yu was not naïve enough to think that the professionists in this city would mercifully spare a group of children led by two adults.

Because children signified weakness! So, an appropriate display of muscle is very necessary!

Yet, Wen Yu never imagined that the small bit of muscle he had casually revealed on his forearm would be seen as a Dinghai Shen Needle by the professionists in Mudanjiang City!

”If I had known, I wouldn’t have let you level up! Look at the mess you’ve caused. It was good when you were Third-level. You ate less, your size wasn’t too big, and you didn’t draw too much attention. Besides, Star and I put in so much effort to help you level up!” Wen Yu sighed, patted Cyclops’s head, and complained to it.

”WOOF WOOF!”

Boss, I didn’t want to grow bigger! I get hungry faster when I’m larger. It was you who made me grow bigger...

”Alright, my fault...”

”WOOF WOOF...”

How about we just kill all these people!

Cyclops had spent the most time with Wen Yu and had also ”experienced” the most; its violent tendencies and murderous intent were several times stronger than Star’s!

”No need.” Wen Yu casually threw the cigarette butt in his hand into a window on the fourth floor of a passing residential building. ”If they want to watch, let them. I bet seeing your majestic and imposing figure is making them die of envy right now!”

”WOOF WOOF WOOF!!!”

Absolutely!!!

Hearing Wen Yu’s blatant flattery instantly made Cyclops ecstatic!

”Right! I need to mark my territory!”

With that, Cyclops broke into a trot and ran towards a commercial building.

Wen Yu immediately understood what Cyclops intended to do and, with a wry smile, jumped off Cyclops’s body.

Star, perched on Wen Yu’s head like a hat, stuck its tongue out at Cyclops.

Why does Dog Brother always like to mark territory? Wouldn’t it be better if everyone shared?

”WOOF WOOF WOOF!!!”

You’re too young, you wouldn’t understand. This is the best way to attract cute female dogs!

After saying this, Cyclops lifted its right leg onto the windowsill of the third floor, exposing its huge member!

”Let’s go...” Wen Yu couldn’t bear to watch such a gruesome scene any longer. He led Star and caught up with the ”baby army” ahead.

Behind them, a gushing sound erupted as a pale yellow liquid quickly spread over a large area of land. Simultaneously, a foul, fishy stench wafted over, causing Wen Yu to involuntarily wrinkle his brow.

This is too disgusting... The little Soul Beast’s Spiritual Fluctuation transmitted to Wen Yu’s mind and was then quickly relayed to Cyclops and Star.

Who can disagree! Isn’t territory something you’re born with? Why mark territory this way! Besides, it stinks! As the king of the Chaihe Town mountain area, Star naturally possessed a large territory from birth.

This is Dog Brother’s life, Dog Brother’s way, Dog Brother’s attitude!

I’m proud!

Cyclops shook the ugly appendage beneath it, then trotted gleefully to Wen Yu’s side, winking at Star and the little Soul Beast on Wen Yu’s head.

Wen Yu let out a long, deep sigh.

Once Cyclops had finished marking its territory, the group set off once more!

The difference this time was that everyone, including the professionists following behind, was pinching their noses, trying to get away from that area as quickly as possible!

The smell of Cyclops’s urine was truly... intoxicating!

”Let’s go,” Wen Yu said to Cyclops, managing to suppress his exasperation.

After Wen Yu and his soul pets were all promoted to Level 4, the intelligence of the mutant beasts and soul beasts greatly improved. Cyclops and Star often did things that made Wen Yu unsure whether to laugh or cry.

Take marking territory, for instance. A large part of the mountainous area around Mudanjiang City had already been marked by Cyclops, and it was foreseeable that this behavior would not stop!

According to Cyclops, it was ”leaving its scent!”

Just in case some cute female dog smelled it and was conquered by his Strong Power, Dog Brother’s harem would naturally expand!

And Wen Yu had, of course, strictly warned Cyclops.

Maintaining a harem is your own business, but don’t even think about making me contract your wives! Unless they’re stronger than you!

And Cyclops indicated it wouldn’t. This ”wouldn’t” referred to Cyclops’s certainty that no female dog would be stronger than him!

Wen Yu sat back on top of Cyclops’s head. Seeing Cyclops repeatedly glancing back at the messy ground behind them, he rapped Cyclops on the head in frustration. ”Hurry up! You’re Level 4, and you’re about to let the children get away!”

”Oh...” Cyclops whimpered pitifully.

Mudanjiang City was neither particularly large nor small.

Perhaps Mudanjiang City seemed quite large to ordinary people, but with the professionists’ powerful mobility, the effective distances within the city were infinitely reduced.

In less than an hour, the gates of the Central City Assembly Site were already distantly visible.

Before Wen Yu’s group had even covered half the distance, Central City had already received news that a Level 4 mutant creature had appeared in Mudanjiang City.

And it had an owner.

Furthermore, it was on its way to Central City.

The one in control of all of Mudanjiang City was none other than Wang Zhigang, the man with whom Wen Yu had blown up a police station at the beginning of the apocalypse!

At the time, Wang Zhigang’s decisiveness and courage had left a deep impression on Wen Yu.

This man naturally lacked neither courage nor brains.

Therefore, upon learning that a Level 4 mutant beast was about to arrive at Central City, Wang Zhigang had already led the people from the camp up onto the city wall!

This so-called city wall had been built during Central City’s initial design to prevent mutant beast attacks, and it was constantly being widened, thickened, and heightened.

This was an order from the military headquarters.

Wang Zhigang didn’t understand the reason behind it, but that didn’t stop him from executing the orders perfectly.

Zhang Xiao had been right about one thing.

Wang Zhigang did indeed take orders from the military. This was simply because the military’s overwhelming combat strength left Wang Zhigang with no way to resist!

Standing on the city wall, Wang Zhigang watched the gray figure in the distance grow larger and larger, and couldn’t help but sigh. ”Let’s go. Open the city gates and go out to meet them.”

”Wait, Old Wang! We don’t even know if this person is friend or foe. How can we rashly open the city gates?”

The speaker was a young man in military uniform standing nearby.

Hearing the young man’s words, Zhang Wen, who was beside Wang Zhigang, snorted. ”And what if they are an enemy? Do you think this city wall, less than 10 meters high, can stop that thing? Our people outside the city said that dog is 10 meters tall!”

”If that dog’s owner is our enemy, even if you built three more city walls, it wouldn’t be enough to stop them!”

After Zhang Wen finished speaking, without waiting for the young man to respond, he walked directly toward the city gate with Wang Zhigang.

And Wang Zhigang ignored the young man entirely from beginning to end.

A flash of resentment in the young man’s eyes vanished instantly. Then, he followed behind Zhang Wen.

When this is over, I’ll definitely have to report to headquarters. These two are getting more and more disobedient!
