Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 141: Chapter 97: The Road to Survival (Part 6) _1

DING...

Wen Yu’s Touch of Greed made direct contact with the Ancient Demon’s right forelimb. The Ancient Demon faltered imperceptibly—an effect of the Soul Strike.

However, the physical damage, which didn’t even tear the Ancient Demon’s Scale Armor, rendered the Soul Strike’s effect extremely weak!

Immediately after, the Ancient Demon’s left forelimb slammed heavily onto Wen Yu!

The tremendous force burst open Wen Yu’s protective suit, tearing his chest apart.

Grayish-white flesh splattered everywhere. Despite the horrifying sight of Wen Yu’s wound, augmented by the Blood and Flesh Badge, it had no impact on his fighting ability!

”Dislimn!”

Nimbly activating his dislimning ability, Wen Yu, in his dislimned state, passed his right hand through the Ancient Demon’s defenses and plunged it directly into its head!

The Ancient Demon’s eyes immediately contracted!

BOOM!

A loud explosion sounded—the Demon Qi Eruption of the Ancient Demon!

Before Wen Yu could cancel his dislimning state, he was struck directly by the Demon Qi Eruption. Dust and Demonic Qi exploded around him, blasting his non-dislimned body far away! The front of his body, which had directly faced the Demon Qi Eruption, was stripped of all flesh, leaving even his internal organs a mangled mess!

BANG!

The gunshot echoed once again. But this time, with no one obstructing it, the Ancient Demon dodged the bullet!

The disparity in physical attributes between Burly Bear and the Ancient Demon was too great!

If everyone hadn’t been risking their lives to restrain the Ancient Demon, even with augmented skills, Burly Bear’s bullets wouldn’t have had a prayer of hitting their mark!

”Die!!!”

The word, stretched out, marked the Ancient Demon unleashing its full speed.

BOOM!

Another explosion. This was the sound of the Ancient Demon colliding head-on with Wen Yu!

The Ancient Demon’s steps faltered for a moment, while Wen Yu was sent flying backward! Suspended in mid-air, his organs had already begun to detach within his body.

BANG!

Another gunshot!

Seizing the opportunity as the Ancient Demon paused, Burly Bear took his shot!

This shot burrowed deep into the Ancient Demon’s brain!

From the bullet hole, a stream of white, viscous fluid slowly trickled out. That was the Ancient Demon’s brain matter!

However, the Demon Tribe’s anatomical structure differs from the Human Race’s. Despite the injury to its brain, the Ancient Demon still retained its fighting ability!

The Ancient Demon was a bit dazed. Its forehead wound, though not fatal, could certainly be classified as a severe injury!

The Ancient Demon staggered but quickly regained its balance!

ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!

With a ferocious roar, the Ancient Demon charged towards Burly Bear’s sniper position.

Nearby, Wen Yu staggered to his feet, but he no longer had the ability to intercept the Ancient Demon!

Under the power of the Blood and Flesh Badge, although Wen Yu was not dead and barely felt any pain, the massive damage to his internal organs, significant muscle loss, and extensive bone damage caused his fighting strength to plummet!

BANG!

Another shot, but it missed. The Ancient Demon, moving at high speed, dodged Burly Bear’s sniper shot!

Reload, aim, shoot! These fluid actions evidenced Burly Bear’s combat prowess!

BANG!

Watching the Ancient Demon drawing closer, Burly Bear maintained his composure and fired another shot!

The close-range sniper shot still missed! The Ancient Demon was too fast!

At full speed, the Ancient Demon even exceeded the limits of Burly Bear’s dynamic tracking ability!

BANG!

This bullet soared into the sky!

In front of Burly Bear, a massive demonic claw tightly gripped the gun’s barrel. Under the Ancient Demon’s continuous exertion, even the modified firearm could not withstand such raw force!

The barrel dented, twisted, and under the Ancient Demon’s relentless pressure, it snapped!

SWISH.

The sound of rushing air rose as the Ancient Demon’s long, sharp tail wrapped around Burly Bear’s neck.

Then, the Ancient Demon’s tail tightened, yanking Burly Bear’s body up and leaving him dangling in mid-air.

”You are good! Very good!”

A hoarse voice emanated from the Ancient Demon’s mouth. Then, its snake-like tail constricted!

The Ancient Demon intended to strangle Burly Bear to death.

A whimpering sound rose; Burly Bear’s face visibly turned purple. Not far away, Wen Yu’s body collapsed to the ground once again!

Wen Yu, the only one who could still act, was unable to provide further support for Burly Bear!

”I will wring off your head, make your skull into a wine cup, feed your body to the dogs, and then bind your soul, condemning you to an eternity of pain and torment!”

A voice full of hatred arose. Just moments ago, this insignificant ant before it had almost managed to kill it!

The wound on the Ancient Demon’s forehead slowly stopped bleeding. Even the bullet lodged in its skull was slowly being pushed out!

The Ancient Demon Tribe was born for battle! Their racial superiority was truly terrifying!

Burly Bear’s hands desperately clawed at the Ancient Demon’s tail, trying to relieve the pressure on his neck!

But it was no use. The gap in physical strength was too vast!

So, this is it!

Burly Bear glanced at Wen Yu, who was struggling to approach from a distance. He looked at Jiang Wentao’s convulsing body even farther away, then at the snarling Ancient Demon close by. An object slipped unnoticed from his right sleeve!

CLANG.

A crisp mechanical sound echoed. A cylindrical metal tube fell to the ground, beeping and flashing a red light.

The Ancient Demon’s eyes narrowed, staring intently at the small object on the ground.

Then...

BOOM!

An intense blue light engulfed the area where Burly Bear and the Ancient Demon stood!

But that wasn’t all. The explosion of the plasma hand grenade Burly Bear had thrown ignited more grenades on the ground! Evidently, Burly Bear had already prepared for this, having filled this area with plasma bombs!

As the power of the plasma hand grenades erupted, streaks of blue light blasted wildly, accompanied by CRACKLING sounds, completely obliterating everything in the vicinity!

Wen Yu silently halted, intently watching the blue fireworks unfolding before him.

His left hand brushed over his space ring, and a healing potion appeared in his hand.

As he swallowed the slightly sweet healing potion, his wounds began to slowly mend. Under the combined effects of the Blood and Flesh Badge and the healing potion, lost bones and flesh were continuously regenerating.

He downed another potion. In about a minute, his injuries were roughly eighty percent healed.

And the splendid fireworks before him had also concluded...

As the dust settled, a large crater appeared before Wen Yu. At the crater’s edge, some of the sand had been transmuted into crystal by the force of the plasma hand grenades!

In the center of the crater, a ravaged figure lay on the ground, screaming incessantly!

”Bastard! You bastard! I’ll kill you! I’ll kill you!!!”

It was the Ancient Demon.

Burly Bear had already been reduced to ashes! Not even bones remained...
