Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 104: Chapter 61: 20 Heads, Said and Done!_1

”HISS.”

The professionists watching from behind sucked in a cold breath at the sight, not daring to take another step forward—not until Wen Yu’s gaze swept over their group.

”The item is with me,” Wen Yu stated as he slowly advanced, his voice cold. ”But you’ve heard the alert, haven’t you?”

”Even the alert warned you: greed leads to destruction.”

”No, I was wrong. You bunch of trash don’t even qualify to be greedy, yet you still want to benefit from me? In your next lives, don’t be human. It’s too exhausting for you! You’d be better off as pigs!”

As Wen Yu’s voice grew louder and his murderous intent stronger, he finally raised his steel saber against these professionists!

”Run Fast!”

Finally, a professionist with some sense reacted. He realized that this powerful expert before them had no intention to negotiate or compromise but had instead begun a massacre, and he screamed wildly.

This yell broke the trance of most professionists. Some frantically ran backward, while others far from Wen Yu directly took out their teleportation jade charms and teleported out of the treasure land!

However, some, blinded by greed or believing they were powerful enough to fight Wen Yu, charged at him!

The bloody slaughter began in earnest.

Wielding his steel saber, Wen Yu charged at the nearest professionist.

”First one.”

Like a call from hell, the professionist hadn’t even drawn his Weapon before Wen Yu’s steel saber was at his throat!

The tremendous force instantly decapitated the professionist. Then.

”Second one.”

Another Level 2 professionist attacked Wen Yu from behind. However, this newly promoted professionist didn’t even get a chance to draw his Weapon before Wen Yu cut him in half at the waist.

”AAH! AAH! Save me, save me!”

Being sliced in half wasn’t enough to kill this professionist immediately, but the feeling of imminent death was even more terrifying, causing him to let out a deafening wail!

The wails woke the remaining people. The professionists who were about to attack Wen Yu immediately stopped in their tracks and turned to run!

But it was already too late!

”Don’t rush to run. You’re the third one!”

The call from hell sounded in the slowest professionist’s ear, followed by a sharp pain. A steel saber pierced his chest from behind, causing the professionist to howl in agony.

Unfortunately, Wen Yu had no intention of showing mercy.

Wen Yu exploded into motion. His steel saber, still impaling one professionist, pierced through this new target as he saw the man frantically digging out his teleportation jade charm.

The two victims, skewered face to face on Wen Yu’s steel saber, were lifted high into the air.

”Fourth one!”

With a twist of his right hand, the steel saber tore a head-sized hole through both professionists. One of the professionists impaled on the saber was already dead; the other was spewing blood, gazing at Wen Yu with a dull expression.

Wen Yu crushed this second professionist’s skull under his foot and then chased after the other professionists, who were fleeing farther and farther away.

”All! Of! You! Stay!”

Wen Yu’s roar echoed through the sky.

Ahead, more and more professionists, attracted by Pandora’s Magic Box, were surrounding Wen Yu.

”Fifth one, sixth one, seventh one... twelfth one!”

As Wen Yu’s speed gradually increased, his killing pace grew faster and faster.

Until Wen Yu’s steel saber was caught by someone!

”Oh?”

Wen Yu hadn’t completely lost himself to bloodlust. Seeing the powerful expert who had suddenly appeared before him, he immediately took two steps back.

The one who caught Wen Yu’s steel saber was a young man in a military uniform.

”Interesting. Sequence Number?” Wen Yu looked at the military man before him with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile.

He had neatly cut short hair and a ramrod-straight posture, clearly a professional soldier. Behind him stood two more professionists in similar attire.

And behind these three, a large group of people watched Wen Yu in terror, as if looking at a monster!

The military man looked at the corpses littering the ground, then at the blood-soaked Wen Yu, his fists clenching tightly!

”Correct, Sequence Number 29. Don’t you think your actions have been excessive? These people were clearly trying to flee. Why didn’t you spare them?”

”Heh, a bleeding-heart do-gooder, huh?”

Wen Yu let out a sarcastic laugh, ignored the military man’s question, and began beheading the corpses on the ground.

Picking up a severed head, Wen Yu said to the military man, ”Since you were able to block my saber, you’re naturally qualified to participate in this competition. Follow me.”

After saying this, Wen Yu began to collect the severed heads on the ground.

The military man, Sequence Number 29, watched Wen Yu with a furious expression but did nothing.

Just now, blocking Wen Yu’s saber had numbed his right hand and caused his Soul to oscillate violently. As a result, he still couldn’t fully control his body.

”By the way, help me with a few of these. There are so many, I can’t carry them all myself!”

He directly handed three human heads to the military man, forcefully stuffing them into his arms as the man’s expression grew increasingly grim.

”Let’s go.”

Wen Yu, carrying a string of human heads, walked towards the place where he had earlier parted ways with Cyclops.

When Wen Yu arrived, Cyclops was greedily tearing into the corpses on the ground!

The flesh and blood of professionists were even more beneficial for a mutant beast’s growth.

So even though most of the corpses on the ground belonged to Level 1 professionists, they still had a strengthening effect on Cyclops.

”Alright, let me count.”

”One, two, three... twenty-seven. Hmm, that’s enough!”

Listening to Wen Yu’s indifferent tone as he counted the corpses, the military man behind him finally couldn’t hold back any longer!

”You... you’re a madman!”

Hearing the anger and mockery in the military man’s tone, Wen Yu turned and looked at him coldly.

”You’re mistaken. By your logic, I’m a *powerful* madman! Note well, ’powerful’ is the key point!”

After a brief pause, Wen Yu continued, ”You look like a soldier, right? I spared you because you managed to block my saber. However, don’t even think about testing my limits.”

”As for these people on the ground, I didn’t kill them; they died to their own greed!”

”Also, I’m about to say something. You should step back a bit and listen quietly. You should know that at this distance, your life isn’t guaranteed!”
