Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 108: Chapter 65 The second time!_1

”Thank you!”

Upon hearing the Knight’s words, Sun Ruixing grinned broadly. This was someone just like himself, filled with persistence and conviction—a true Knight!

After gulping down an intermediate healing potion, the wounds on Sun Ruixing’s body visibly healed at a rapid pace.

Then, he extended his right hand.

”My name is Sun Ruixing. I’m Chinese.”

The Knight beamed, his smile revealing brilliantly clean and tidy teeth, and grasped Sun Ruixing’s extended hand with his own iron-gauntleted one.

”I’m William, a British national, Sequence Number 18.”

...

The face-off at Pandora’s Magic Box was still ongoing!

Watching the blood-red countdown digits above the Magic Box grow shorter, some individuals slowly began to harbor their own intentions.

”Hey, you, the guy standing on the tree back there! How about we team up, take down that fellow with the large dog, and then we split the treasures from the Magic Box?”

The one who spoke up first was the teammate of the man in the military uniform.

He was a man with a sharp-nosed, sunken-cheeked face and a stick-thin figure. His sleazy appearance instantly downgraded the military uniform he wore by several notches.

Although he was scrawny, the shrewd glint in his eyes was enough to prove this fellow was definitely not to be trifled with!

Chu Ziling swept a disdainful gaze over the three individuals in military uniforms and said arrogantly, ”What makes you think you’re worthy of cooperating with me?”

Although Wen Yu had thrown him off his groove a little earlier, Chu Ziling’s arrogant nature and confidence in his own abilities were not so easily changed.

Sequence Number 29 was about to flare up but was held back by the burly man behind him.

”Monkey” gave Sequence Number 29 a look and then said to Chu Ziling, ”The three of us are super warriors under military command. This is our team leader for this operation; he ranks third among the military’s super warriors and is also Sequence Number 29. Friend, believe me, the three of us combined are definitely no weaker than you.”

Monkey’s words not only revealed their identities, status, and strength but also subtly threatened Chu Ziling.

Hearing Monkey’s introduction, Chu Ziling looked slightly taken aback.

Even with his arrogance, Chu Ziling wouldn’t dismiss a Sequence Number 29.

The strength of someone in the Sequences is never to be underestimated!

Besides, Sequence Number 29 had two other teammates. If their strengths were comparable, their collective combat power would indeed be somewhat greater than his own!

Arrogance didn’t equate to stupidity, so after a quick assessment, Chu Ziling simply nodded at Monkey.

”Alright, we can cooperate for now. We’ll discuss the ownership of the Magic Box after we’ve driven Wen Yu away.”

Wen Yu snickered when he heard this temporary alliance had been agreed upon.

”Okay, so your little alliance is formed. Come on then. But which one of you goes first?”

At these words, the four members of the alliance fell silent.

”You guys go first. That big fellow looks sturdy; he should be a meat shield. Let him lead the way,” Chu Ziling immediately said to the three men in military uniforms.

His words were pure mockery.

Since when does being big mean you’re a warrior, being small mean you’re an assassin, or dressing mysteriously make you a Mage? Do they really think this is some kind of game?

Listening to Wen Yu and Chu Ziling’s words, Monkey remained silent.

From the very beginning, after hearing the rules of the treasure land, it was clear that an alliance among the powerful experts was fundamentally impossible.

Monkey had only tried to ally with Chu Ziling because he thought Chu Ziling would be easier to trick than Wen Yu. Unfortunately for him, this tactic was old hat! Even Chu Ziling understood what such alliances were truly for.

An alliance is just a deceptive ploy where your ’ally’ is sent to face the danger first, while you get the benefits first!

”No alliance then? Fine, let’s wait.”

Seeing the silent quartet, Wen Yu uttered this and remained quietly where he was, closest to the Magic Box.

The timer on the Magic Box was already down to its final ten minutes!

Unfortunately, given the current situation, no one could touch Pandora’s Magic Box!

The next owner of Pandora’s Magic Box remained unknown.

...

Time quietly ticked by, until only one minute remained in the countdown!

”Damn it, a bunch of cowards!” Chu Ziling swore furiously, looking at the professionists below who were busy discussing but making no moves.

During their previous encounter, he had landed seven or eight hits on Wen Yu, but Wen Yu had endured them all.

He himself had been hit only once, and the outcome of the fight was decided.

This made Chu Ziling hesitant to make any rash moves even now!

There was a clear gap in their combat power, which Chu Ziling could discern. However, if the situation descended into chaos, his speed would give him an advantage. As long as he could avoid a direct confrontation, speed would be the deciding factor in this kind of competitive scenario!

Unfortunately, none of the professionists below made a move!

”Aren’t you going to make a move? If you don’t, he’s going to open it for the second time!” Chu Ziling shouted loudly, only to receive a wave of disdainful looks.

If you’re so capable, go on up! What are you blabbering for if you’re not going?

”What the hell? If you’re not going to act, why don’t you just teleport out of this treasure land? What are you all waiting for?”

At these words, even Wen Yu laughed.

What are they waiting for? Naturally, they’re all harboring the same thoughts as you. Whatever you’re waiting for, that’s what they’re waiting for too!

That was also why Wen Yu had been waiting. Unless someone was a complete idiot, no one would want to be the first to test the waters! Pandora’s Magic Box would thus remain under his control!

He didn’t say anything more to provoke the others. Wen Yu knew that, at this moment, he was the target of everyone present. Any move he made would undoubtedly draw attacks from all sides.

Wen Yu wasn’t confident he could handle such a combined assault.

”10...9...8...7...”

As time dwindled, someone finally couldn’t control their greed!

The first sign of movement came from an empty patch of ground about ten meters away from the Magic Box.

The sand on the ground dipped slightly.

If it weren’t for Wen Yu’s physical attributes, which were beyond Level 2, he would have definitely missed this minute abnormality.

But there were no ’ifs’ in reality!

A loud BANG resounded. Wen Yu dashed forward, snatched Pandora’s Magic Box from the ground, and then fiercely swung his steel saber toward the anomaly.

A spray of blood erupted, and a figure staggered into view.

The figure was cloaked head to toe in black fabric, looking just like a Ninja from a television show.

The man stared dumbfounded at Wen Yu, disbelief etched on his face, before collapsing to the ground. The previous strike had slit the Ninja’s throat!

And Wen Yu’s actions finally stirred the stagnant situation!

For the others, allowing Wen Yu to open the Magic Box a second time was absolutely unacceptable.

And so, the attacks... began, one after another!
