Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 102: Chapter 59 Battle of the Sequence! Gathering of Powerful Experts!_1

”The information isn’t much. Let me briefly explain the situation regarding Sequences!”

”A Sequence, in reality, is an honor and a benefit issued after an assessment by the Treasure Land Protector of a large-scale or higher-level Treasure Land. You should already know this.”

”However, in the early stages, when the strength of Sequences is generally weak, circumstances often arise where a small opportunity can lead to rapid advancements in strength.”

”Therefore, before Level 5, Sequences are not actually distinguished by ranking numbers, and their privileges within the Treasure Land are all the same.”

”To ensure fair competition among Sequences, once we, the Treasure Land Protectors, encounter a situation where multiple Sequences are competing, we will not reveal any information about the trial!”

”And whenever Sequences meet in the Treasure Land, we, the Treasure Land Protectors, will reassign their ranking numbers. Here, your title of Sequence Number 2 will make you the prey of all other Sequences.”

”Oh, another Sequence has just entered. So far, there are four Sequences: Sequence Number 2, Sequence Number 7, Sequence Number 18, and Sequence Number 23.”

”Just a reminder: since you obtained your Sequence relatively early, I have no way to assess your combat capabilities. However, I am quite familiar with Sequence Number 18. He’s a terrifying individual.”

”I hope that by the time this Treasure Land event concludes, you can protect your title as a Sequence. When that time comes, I’ll have a chat with you.”

The Silver-Haired Guardian briefly explained the Treasure Land Protectors’ policies regarding Sequences, then turned and walked directly out of the large egg, leaving Wen Yu lost in thought.

”Hehe.”

Wen Yu quickly digested the Silver-Haired Guardian’s words, turned, sat on the large chair the Guardian had left behind, and yelled into the air, ”Hey, any drinks? Bring me one.”

As soon as his words fell, a can of herbal tea smashed against Wen Yu’s forehead, only to be snatched by him.

At the same time, the Silver-Haired Guardian’s voice sounded again, ”Enjoy your privileges while you still have them. Another Sequence has entered. You’re in for some real trouble this time!”

Wen Yu shrugged, completely ignoring the Silver-Haired Guardian’s warning. He squinted his eyes and lay back in his chair to rest.

There are already five Sequences. I wonder how many more will come. This time, things are getting interesting!

Wen Yu also wanted to see just how powerful these current top human fighters could become!

「The capital of Cathay, Yanjing City.」

Gunfire and explosions sent plumes of smoke and dust into the sky, the deafening roar of artillery fire resounding across the heavens.

Just yesterday, the Central, Eastern, and Northern War Zones—three of Cathay’s five major war zones—had preliminarily completed their convergence.

An existing force of over a million soldiers launched a fierce attack on Yanjing City, the thousand-year-old capital and symbol of Cathay!

The strategy devised by the upper leadership was to start with Yanjing City and incrementally reclaim all lost territories across the nation.

The strategic objective absolutely could not fail!

Therefore, even though hundreds of thousands of survivors remained in Yanjing City, in the eyes of the high command, they were merely a necessary sacrifice to achieve the strategic objective.

The assault began with missiles from the 2nd Artillery Unit.

After missiles of various ranges and destructive power had obliterated all strategic targets, the true mode of post-apocalyptic warfare commenced!

Countless soldiers, who had already awakened their Professions, carried various personal weapons and launched a sweeping assault against the remaining zombies.

This was a Great Feast of slaughter and harvest!

Against modern high-tech weaponry and advanced warfare tactics, the zombies and the few mutant creatures present were utterly defenseless.

Inside the combat command center.

An energetic elderly man sat in the main seat, observing the battlefield situation analysis map before him.

The staff officer beside him was explaining the next phase of the operation step by step.

”By the way, where’s our War God?”

His voice was slightly hoarse, yet it carried an undeniable power and majesty. This was Lin Haifeng, the supreme commander of the three major military regions.

A female officer beside him, dressed in military uniform with a heroic and valiant bearing, answered crisply, ”Lord God of War entered Yanjing City a few days ago. It seems he intends to gather survivors. NO.2, NO.5, and NO.9 accompanied him.”

Hearing the female officer’s words, Lin Haifeng frowned slightly. Before he could say anything, a middle-aged man in military uniform, sitting ramrod straight below, spoke indignantly, ”Do these people have no sense of discipline? They are currently the army’s strongest combatants! How can they just vanish before a major battle? I’ve always maintained that super warriors should be selected from within the army, not from these civilians!”

It wasn’t that the middle-aged officer truly objected, but rather a manifestation of the conflict between military discipline and civilian temperament.

”Ah, Colonel Wang, there’s no need for that,” Lin Haifeng said. ”It’s good for a talented youngster to have some personality. Besides, the current situation doesn’t require their intervention.”

”NO.3, take NO.8 and NO.10 to reinforce the front line. If you encounter any individual zombies or mutant creatures with exceptionally high combat power, you are responsible for eliminating them!”

The three soldiers below immediately stood, rendered a standard military salute, and then exited the combat command center.

”Wait.”

Lin Haifeng stopped the men who were just about to leave, turned his head, and looked out the window.

Outside the window, there was nothing.

”For now, you don’t need to go to the front line. Proceed directly north, about thirty kilometers from here. A Super Treasure Land will appear there in ten minutes.”

”Yes, sir!”

The three military super experts respectfully saluted and then moved swiftly in the direction Lin Haifeng indicated.

No one in the combat command center found this unusual; it was Commander Lin’s professions skill. From the very beginning of the apocalypse, Commander Lin had been able to command all forces of the Cathay military, a feat not solely reliant on his personal charisma or individual capabilities!

「Britain, London.」

The entrance to a Treasure Land abruptly appeared in the city of London.

The zombies near the entrance seemed completely oblivious to it, continuing to wander aimlessly.

Until a burly figure, like a heavy tank, charged directly into the horde of zombies.

He was a handsome, blond-haired man, clad in heavy armor and wielding a massive two-handed giant sword, resembling a Knight from a medieval film.

A brilliant light flashed from the edge of the giant sword as its immense aura swept madly through the zombie horde. Limbs and severed arms scattered everywhere.

The world fell silent.

The blond man shouldered his giant sword and walked directly towards the Treasure Land entrance.

「Cathay, Kunlun Mountains.」

Within a dilapidated small village.

As the Treasure Land opened, a solitary, proud figure slowly walked towards its entrance.

Behind him lay the charred remains of mutant insectoid creatures and beasts.
