Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 135: Chapter 92: The Road to Survival (Part 1) _1

Under the command of Jiang Wentao and others, coupled with the professionists’ remarkable efficiency, a simple camp was quickly set up.

The Blood Moon in the sky emitted an ominous red glow, and under this light, the entire Flashing Bluestar seemed eerily distorted.

For Wen Yu and his companions, the Blood Moon provided an excellent field of vision, eliminating the need to light fires for illumination.

”Burly Bear, go stand guard!”

At Jiang Wentao’s command, Burly Bear walked off into the distance.

This task was best suited for people like Jiang Wentao and his companions.

”Hungry?” Wen Yu, sitting next to Feina, pulled out an Energy Bar from his space ring and offered it to her.

”I’m good.” Feina shook her head and elegantly began munching on some dried meat she had taken out.

Wen Yu shrugged and stuffed the food into his mouth. Although it didn’t taste good, the Energy Bar contained an incredibly high amount of energy, enough to replenish half a day’s worth of his energy expenditure.

Wen Yu commanded Cyclops to lie down at the windbreak and then leaned against its body. The warmth allowed Wen Yu to momentarily forget the mission’s troubles.

As Wen Yu’s thoughts drifted and his consciousness blurred, he gradually fell into a light sleep.

「...」

Meanwhile, in Silver Moon Holy City.

As Wen Yu and his companions departed, the vast fortress fell into silence. Even the Demon Group, which had previously launched relentless attacks, had vanished.

In the end, this was just an Illusion, merely a trial. Now that the trial-takers had departed, what purpose did these remaining illusions serve?

As the moonlight grew heavier, a subtle change occurred high above the city walls, nearly ten thousand meters in the air. First, beams of light emerged out of thin air above the city walls. Then, space seemed to tear apart as a blurry figure emerged from mid-air.

Despite the blood covering him, the man’s extraordinary heroism was undeniable. He stood almost two meters tall and wore tattered silver battle armor. His short, silver hair shimmered faintly, though tragically, it was matted with sticky blood.

”At last, we have failed!” His words, like a dreamy whisper, conveyed confusion, despair, and even a hint of relief.

As his voice faded, his body crumbled like a stack of toy blocks, slowly turning to ash and dispersing into the air.

Within the torn space, boundless Black Light relentlessly eroded the edges of the rupture. Then, a large, scaled, claw-like hand extended from the void. Its sharp talons looked as if they could crush the very space it gripped. The hand clenched into a fist and smashed forward.

At this moment, space seemed to lose its meaning.

The intense Energy Fluctuations shredded space and the ten-thousand-meter-high city walls. They also destroyed most of Silver Moon Holy City.

The might of that single punch was like a cataclysm.

An intense sandstorm engulfed the entire Silver Moon Holy City.

Amidst the swirling yellow sand and Energy Fluctuations, a slender figure stood quietly on the horizon. Bullet-like debris passed right through him, leaving only ripples on his form.

Even the owner of the destructive hand had not noticed this silver-haired teenager.

”Father...”

Everything happening before him seemed to have nothing to do with the silver-haired teenager. He was simply floating in mid-air, staring blankly at the place where the figure had just disappeared.

After a moment, the silver-haired teenager shook his head, and his body gradually dissipated into the air.

”I’m sorry, Father. The Inheritance Crystal only contained these records... I can’t even remember your face...”

「...」

As the sandstorm in Silver Moon Holy City gradually subsided, where the outer city walls once stood, dozens of grotesque and terrifying figures appeared out of nowhere.

A dog-shaped Demon Fiend sniffed the ground intently. Following its signals, dozens of other Demon Fiends scattered, rushing towards Wen Yu and his group. Judging by their speed, they were all at least Third-level Demon Fiends.

「...」

Wen Yu, in his light sleep, was awakened by Cyclops’s deep howl.

”What’s going on?” Wen Yu squinted, looking at the professionist standing before Cyclops.

”Brother Wen Yu, you’re finally awake!”

Wen Yu vaguely remembered this professionist. Although not very powerful, his survival skills were impressive. During the recent battle on the city walls, he had rushed to William’s side at the first opportunity. After the battle ended, he didn’t have many injuries.

”Brother Wen Yu, I just had a bad premonition! There’s danger approaching us from the direction of Silver Moon Holy City!”

”You have a skill like that?” Wen Yu narrowed his eyes and took out a watch from his space ring. Only three hours had passed since they set up camp!

The professionist was sweating profusely. He kept glancing back towards Silver Moon Holy City and said urgently, ”Brother Wen Yu, the feeling of danger is getting stronger! We need to get moving!”

”What is your skill?” Wen Yu furrowed his brows. It wasn’t that he disbelieved the man, but such a short rest wasn’t enough to recover from the day’s battle. If everyone ran forward groggily, it would be less safe than getting adequate rest here.

”My skill is Danger prediction. It’s a B-Class Passive Skill,” the man replied, his voice strained. ”It can roughly sense where danger is coming from and its Danger Level. It only works in non-combat situations! The danger from the direction of Silver Moon Holy City is currently at the highest level!”

”Call everyone! We...”

Before Wen Yu could finish, an intense roar came from the direction of Silver Moon Holy City.

From their position, they could clearly see Silver Moon Holy City’s ten-thousand-meter-high walls collapsing thunderously. An enormous cloud of dust billowed into the sky, surpassing even the mushroom cloud of a nuclear bomb.

Even at their campsite, they could clearly feel the powerful tremors.

This time, before Wen Yu needed to say a word, everyone scrambled to their feet, staring blankly at the distant, collapsing Silver Moon Holy City.

”Move! Quickly!”

At Wen Yu’s command, all the professionists immediately packed up their belongings and ran eastward.

Wen Yu ran at the head of the group with Princess Consort Feina.

”Silver Moon Holy City... it’s gone?”

Wen Yu could hardly believe it. All he could say was that the sight of the city walls, over ten thousand meters high, collapsing before their eyes was utterly devastating!

”Yes,” Princess Consort Feina responded faintly. ”Actually, Silver Moon City’s fate was sealed yesterday. When Sequence Number 1, the strongest of the Silver Moon Tribe, fell in battle, the Silver Moon Tribe was left with no means to resist.

”Now that Silver Moon Holy City has fallen, endless pursuers will come to intercept us. I hope all of you can fulfill your mission and preserve the last spark of life for Flashing Bluestar. Thank you all!”
