Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 107: Chapter 64 Sequence Number 18_1

Upon hearing the sharp keen reaching his ears, Chu Ziling’s chaotic mind was momentarily roused to clarity by Wen Yu’s killing intent.

His right fist clenched, and he threw a punch toward Wen Yu’s position from a distance.

The concentrated fireball charged straight at Wen Yu. By the time Wen Yu deflected the fireball with a swing of his saber, Chu Ziling had already dashed to the rear of the crowd.

That guy escaped again, Wen Yu sighed softly to himself, not bothering to pursue him. He returned to a spot not far from Pandora’s Magic Box.

Although there was a gap in their strength, it wasn’t exactly a crushing one. But Chu Ziling’s speed left Wen Yu helpless!

Not far behind the crowd, Chu Ziling, standing on a large tree, had already recovered from the dizziness and pain from the Soul Strike. He looked at Wen Yu, who was guarding Pandora’s Magic Box, with a dark expression.

Since childhood, he had trained in martial arts under his master and had never feared a fight. Especially after the apocalypse began, his strength, far surpassing that of ordinary people, had earned Chu Ziling two S-rank skills and the title of Sequence Number 7.

I thought I was the protagonist and Heavenly Pride of this era, but unexpectedly, Wen Yu taught me a brutal lesson in this treasure land!

This world truly never lacks people who possess both luck and strength!

「...」

Although the fight between Wen Yu and Chu Ziling seemed to involve many exchanges, to the onlookers, only a few short seconds had passed.

They saw Wen Yu, covered in wounds yet still guarding Pandora’s Magic Box, and then Chu Ziling, unharmed but having fled far away with a dark expression. They instantly understood.

The man with the large dog won!

Then, another burst of teleportation light flashed.

A large number of professionists whose physical fitness was below 20 points were directly teleported out of the treasure land.

After watching the fight between Wen Yu and Chu Ziling, these people suddenly understood.

This competition belongs only to a select few. The weak can’t even get an admission ticket!

The number of people remaining dwindled, but many who had made it ashore were still far from Wen Yu’s location and had not yet arrived.

「...」

At this moment, in the central region of Cacodemons Island, Sun Ruixing barely dodged a steel saber slashing at him from behind, then raised his shield to block a powerful kick!

A tremendous force erupted against the shield, instantly shattering the already battered wooden shield!

Then, Sun Ruixing was sent flying by his opponent’s kick!

”You damn mutt! How dare you interfere with my fun! You’re courting death! Too bad that little wench got away. I’m going to flay you alive today!”

As the furious voice rang out, Sun Ruixing struggled to sit up, looking at the bear-like professionist opposite him.

It was a burly Caucasian man. Under the rules of the treasure land, different languages were automatically translated into each professionist’s native tongue.

Thus, Sun Ruixing could clearly hear the murderous intent and rage in the brute’s words!

Just moments before, Sun Ruixing had been rushing towards the location of Pandora’s Magic Box when he unexpectedly stumbled upon this Caucasian brute assaulting a petite female professionist.

True to his nature, Sun Ruixing hadn’t hesitated for a moment, immediately charging forward to engage the Caucasian brute in battle.

Unfortunately, Sun Ruixing was a Level 1 professionist, while this brute was Level 2!

The woman had already seized the chance to teleport out of the treasure land, leaving Sun Ruixing alone to face this enraged bear of a man.

By now, even Sun Ruixing’s shield had been shattered by the Level 2 professionist, and he no longer had the strength to resist.

He forced himself to pick up his only remaining steel saber, but unfortunately, a steel saber was not the primary weapon for a Shield Warrior!

He watched as the brute opposite him, his face a mask of savagery, advanced on him step by step.

Just as Sun Ruixing was about to make a desperate last stand, a massive Sword Light flashed behind the brute.

The brute had no time to react and was instantly cleaved in two by the Sword Light, his internal organs and intestines spilling onto the ground!

The Sword Light’s power hadn’t fully dissipated; it grazed past Sun Ruixing’s ear and shot into the nearby forest.

With a deafening ROAR, several trees in the Sword Light’s path were instantly blasted to smithereens by its immense power!

Only then did a figure clad in heavy armor slowly approach Sun Ruixing.

He looked like a protagonist stepping out of a medieval film: a chiseled, handsome face, piercing blue eyes full of spirit, and brilliant short golden hair that seemed to glow faintly in the dappled sunlight. He wore a suit of heavy full-plate armor that was clearly functional, not ornamental, and his every step resounded with a thunderous BOOM, like a localized earthquake.

A massive two-handed sword rested on his shoulder.

The Sword Light from moments ago had been unleashed from this formidable weapon!

Seeing this man’s appearance, Sun Ruixing collapsed onto the ground.

He was terrified; the sensation of the Sword Light grazing his ear had given Sun Ruixing a chilling taste of death brushing past him.

Sun Ruixing lowered his head deeply, panting heavily, as if daring not to look directly at the Knight before him, who seemed to radiate light.

Then, a hand encased in steel extended towards Sun Ruixing.

”Friend, can you still move?”

A gentle, magnetic voice rang out. The warmth and charm in his words made even Sun Ruixing, a fellow man, feel his heart stir.

It was easy to imagine the powerful personal charisma this man possessed.

Sun Ruixing stared blankly at the man before him, whose face held a gentle smile. After a moment’s hesitation, he placed his hand in the Knight’s.

A strong force surged through his arm, and the Knight pulled Sun Ruixing to his feet.

”Here, take this.”

As the Knight removed his gauntlet, a ring identical in design to the one on Wen Yu’s hand was revealed.

The Knight swiped his hand over the ring, and an intermediate healing potion materialized in his palm, which he then pressed into Sun Ruixing’s hand.

”Drink it.”

Sun Ruixing looked at the item in his hand, an item he knew he could never afford to redeem himself. He hesitated for a moment before asking, ”You’re... not going to kill me?”

”Why would I kill you?”

”We’re competitors here, and you’re much stronger than I am!” Sun Ruixing stated the prevailing view.

The Knight looked at Sun Ruixing intently, his bright eyes so captivating that Sun Ruixing felt momentarily dazed.

His magnetic voice resonating, the Knight slowly said, ”What you said reflects reality, but it is not what is right.”

”People like you should live, should grow stronger. People like that brute from before—they are the ones who deserve to die. That is the correct way of thinking.”

”I may not be able to change everyone’s views, but I can adhere to my own principles.”

”So, drink the potion and come with me. I cannot protect you for a lifetime, but in this treasure land, as long as I am here, you will not die!”

”This is the conviction and promise of a Knight!”
