Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 106: Chapter 63 Sequence Number 7_1

A flash of the blade, and the burly man’s head flew high into the air. Blood erupted from his neck like a fountain!

THUD.

The burly man’s body collapsed to the ground.

Wen Yu had killed this professionist, who had a physical fitness of about 25 points, in a single strike!

Smelling the scent of food, Cyclops immediately got up, ran to the corpse, and began to tear into it ravenously.

”This reckless trash really disgusts me!” Wen Yu said, looking at the corpse on the ground.

Actually, it couldn’t quite be called taunting, as Wen Yu’s voice was loud enough for everyone present to hear.

”Here’s a piece of advice for all of you! Anyone with physical fitness below 30 points, don’t come up here seeking death! You may not fear death, but I’m getting tired of killing!”

The professionists present had yet to recover from the shock of the instant kill. They watched, stunned, as the previously arrogant professionist was beheaded by Wen Yu as easily as a chicken!

This burly man, who had casually kicked another professionist to death just moments before, clearly had physical fitness of at least 20 points, yet he was so swiftly sent to the West Sky.

Then, many people came to their senses, and the lights of teleportation jade charms flickered one after another!

These were the smart ones. Level 1 professionists, having witnessed the battle, would no longer harbor any illusions of getting lucky!

To get treasure, you first have to survive!

When the flickering lights subsided, fewer than half of the original survivors remained.

However, without exception, all those who stayed were Level 2 professionists.

The scene gradually quieted. Everyone silently watched the timer on Pandora’s Magic Box, each calculating their own plans.

「 」

Wen Yu was silently staring at Pandora’s Magic Box. The crimson numbers showed the remaining time: 20:18.

BOOM.

A deafening sound echoed.

Wen Yu reacted instantly, turning his head toward the source of the sound.

A man in a white shirt was already standing not far from Pandora’s Magic Box. He had short, spiky hair, a resolute face, and appeared to be around 25 years old. His relaxed posture made it seem as if he had been standing there all along!

The sound from before was merely the wind tearing as he ran at full speed!

His speed surpassed that of anyone Wen Yu had ever seen!

”Were you the one who opened this Magic Box first?”

The voice, though indifferent, came from the man in white, and everyone present could hear the distinct pride it carried.

That tone, that demeanor, practically screamed: You’re all trash! None of you are even worth my attention!

Wen Yu nodded gravely.

The man before him, judging by his speed alone, would require Wen Yu’s utmost concentration to handle. Wen Yu estimated that the burst of speed the man had just displayed would require a physical fitness of at least 80 points to achieve!

”So, you killed the people on the ground as well?”

The man in white glanced at Wen Yu. Seeing him nod again, a smile spread across his face.

”Good riddance. That trash dared to covet my property. You’ve actually done me a favor. For that, I’ll forgive your transgression of opening Pandora’s Magic Box. You can leave now; I won’t kill you.”

”Consider this a gift from me, Chu Ziling! No need to thank me.”

Hearing this, Wen Yu actually laughed.

”Chu Ziling, is it? Since you managed to give me a laugh, I’ll forgive your offense. You can leave on your own. I won’t kill you.”

”Consider this a gift from me, Wen Yu! No need to thank me.”

「 」

Chu Ziling’s expression instantly turned cold. Then, a low voice spoke.

”Heh, now this is interesting.”

The corners of Chu Ziling’s mouth curled upwards, widening until he finally burst into hysterical laughter.

Then, the laughter ceased abruptly. Chu Ziling, his expression suddenly calm, looked at Wen Yu and asked,

”Sequence? What number?”

Most of the onlookers were bewildered by this question. But judging from the speed Chu Ziling had just displayed, Wen Yu had already guessed this man must be one of the Sequence. He replied confidently,

”Definitely higher than yours!”

”Oh? So you must be the Number 2 the Treasure Land Protector mentioned. What a coincidence, what a true coincidence.”

Chu Ziling murmured, and then, pale flames abruptly erupted all over his body. In a flash, a flaming fist was already before Wen Yu!

Only then did Chu Ziling’s preceding words reach Wen Yu’s ears:

”Once I kill you, I’ll be Number Two!”

The extreme speed generated immense kinetic energy. With a sonic boom, Wen Yu and Chu Ziling were already locked in a frenzied exchange!

To most onlookers, the fight was merely a blur of black and white shadows. Their speed was so incredible that most professionists couldn’t even track their forms.

Even Cyclops, standing by uninjured, couldn’t find an opening to intervene!

Finally, the two combatants separated. Wen Yu retreated three steps, while Chu Ziling was sent flying by Wen Yu’s immense force. Judging by his dazed eyes, his soul had suffered considerable damage!

In this exchange, Wen Yu had gained the upper hand—if one didn’t count the white flames still clinging to him.

Forcefully patting out the lingering flames on his body, Wen Yu’s expression darkened.

This Chu Ziling, compared to Wen Yu in his combat state, was nearly 20 points weaker in physical fitness! However, his skills were exceptionally powerful.

First, he had a skill that amplified his speed. Based on their exchange, Wen Yu estimated it had directly doubled Chu Ziling’s speed!

Furthermore, the flames on Chu Ziling were clearly an S-class ability or higher. Their lethality was potent, evident from the various burns, large and small, now on Wen Yu.

This assessment of Chu Ziling’s combat power flashed through Wen Yu’s mind. Seeing Chu Ziling’s dazed and vacant eyes, a clear sign that the Soul Strike was still in effect, Wen Yu raised his blade and charged the staggering Chu Ziling, slashing directly at his head.

Strike while he’s vulnerable, go for the kill.

This was a life-or-death battle, not a sparring match with rounds. Combat was about achieving a result, about determining who lived and who died!

With Chu Ziling’s speed, if that man got his hands on Pandora’s Magic Box and started darting all over Full Demon Island, Wen Yu had no confidence he could ever retrieve it from him!
