Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts

Chapter 112: Chapter 69 - The Distribution Rules From The Knight_1

”The main issue is that guy’s speed—it’s way over 80 points! The one you killed had an ability to slow others down, and now he’s dead!”

”So, no one can control that speedster. Once he gets his hands on Pandora’s Magic Box, none of us will be able to catch him!”

Wen Yu finished speaking and spread his hands.

”So, what do we do now?”

After hearing Wen Yu’s words, Chu Ziling’s face turned ashen. Meanwhile, the Sequence Number 29 trio smiled faintly as they looked from Wen Yu to William, eagerly awaiting William’s decision.

William looked very seriously at Wen Yu and directly stated his view. ”Why do we have to fight for it? In fact, the few of us here can distribute it evenly. Wouldn’t it be better if everyone gets a turn?”

Wen Yu scoffed dryly, saying nothing.

In contrast, Chu Ziling, who was furthest from Pandora’s Magic Box, brightened. ”I agree!”

As the weakest among the four parties, this proposal was most beneficial to Chu Ziling.

”You agree, my ass!” Chu Ziling’s words were met with Wen Yu’s angry rebuke.

Wen Yu finally understood why Sun Ruixing was mingling with William. These two are birds of a feather, both idealistic fools!

Slightly increasing the distance between himself and William, Wen Yu directly addressed the Sequence Number 29 trio, who were deep in thought, ”Let’s join forces. We’ll defeat these two first. Your group opens the Box once, and I’ll open it once.”

Seeing the serious expression on Wen Yu’s face, one of the Sequence Number 29 trio scoffed. ”We also agree with the Knight’s suggestion—one turn each. However, we have more people. We won’t ask for much: you three individuals get one turn each, and our group of three will take two turns in total!”

Without paying any attention to Wen Yu’s ashen face, they focused on William. It’s always better to solve problems with words rather than resorting to violence. After all, if accidents happen after a fight, the consequences would be unbearable for us!

After some thoughtful deliberation, William slowly shook his head. ”That won’t work. Your group of three can only open it once. As for Chu Ziling, he can only open it after our three parties—myself, Wen Yu, and your group—have each had two turns. This is my bottom line. If you disagree...”

Upon finishing, the Knight crossed his giant sword in front of his chest. ”Then let’s fight!”

With just that simple exchange, William had already figured out the power dynamic between the groups present. Though he adhered to the Knight’s code, he understood one crucial thing: to achieve one’s dreams and walk one’s own path, strength was paramount. Even the most honorable person wouldn’t back down from a treasure like Pandora’s Magic Box!

The scene instantly descended into an eerie silence as everyone contemplated the proposal put forth by the Knight.

The first to speak was Chu Ziling. ”I agree.”

His face was gloomy as he scanned the group, agreeing begrudgingly. Chu Ziling had no choice. In fact, with his strength, he would have been eliminated long ago if not for his extreme speed. The Knight’s proposal, while not ideal, would at least allow Chu Ziling to gain some benefit.

Wen Yu remained silent. Seeing Chu Ziling’s agreement, he turned his attention to the military-uniformed trio.

”Alright, we agree too,” one of them replied.

The Sequence Number 29 trio had given their answer. The three of them together seemed powerful, but they had a weakness: they could easily be picked off one by one. If they were ganged up on by any two of the other parties present, their trio would definitely not escape.

Wen Yu heaved a heavy sigh. Now, if I dare to refuse, I’ll definitely be jointly eliminated by the other three parties. I hadn’t expected the situation to change so dramatically due to the appearance of a single, righteous, powerful expert.

”Alright,” Wen Yu finally said. ”Who’s going first?”

「Thirty quiet minutes slowly passed.」

When the countdown timer above Pandora’s Magic Box hit zero, no battle had occurred. Everyone present had agreed to the Knight’s suggestion. With everyone benefiting, no one wanted to intentionally start a battle with an unknown outcome. That was neither rational nor worth it!

In the forest outside the area of Pandora’s Magic Box, the eagerly waiting ”hyenas” noticed that the strongest among them had reached a peaceful agreement. Some, immediately disheartened, teleported out of the treasure land. However, others with special means remained, refusing to give up.

”This time, it’s my turn,” William declared, striding forward directly towards Pandora’s Magic Box.

Wen Yu, Chu Ziling, and the military-uniformed trio steadily moved forward, effectively blocking all of William’s retreat paths. This wasn’t an intention to attack, merely a precaution.

As the light from the Box flashed, a medicinal potion appeared in William’s hand. William glanced at it, placed the potion in his space ring, then left the Box in its original place. He turned and walked towards an empty area nearby.

The four parties formed a tight quadrilateral, enclosing Pandora’s Magic Box.

”Next round, it’s us,” one of the Sequence Number 29 trio casually reminded the others. Seeing William and Wen Yu nod in agreement, they let out a collective sigh of relief. They had been afraid that William, currently the strongest person on the surface, would turn on them for profit. Fortunately, William’s character seemed very reliable!

”By the way,” Wen Yu interjected, ”if anyone feels it might be the last time Pandora’s Magic Box opens when it’s their turn, they can use a teleportation jade charm to leave. The turn will automatically pass to the next person.”

His reminder, however, was useless. It was like gambling. The allure of the treasure was blinding; no one could see the crisis hidden behind Pandora’s Magic Box—the unknown second trial! Even I myself wouldn’t choose to give up when my turn came. This is human greed, an immutable aspect of nature.

The others nodded perfunctorily. It was clear that under the current circumstances, triggering the second trial had already become an inevitability.

「Another thirty minutes passed.」

Sequence Number 29 walked straight to the Box. Right behind him, the brawny soldier in military attire took out a giant sniper rifle from his space ring, while Monkey also produced two hand cannons from his.

The light flashed once more. Sequence Number 29 collected his item and returned to his group.

Above Pandora’s Magic Box, large, blood-red letters clearly marked: Times Opened: 4.

”The next round is mine,” Wen Yu stated.

「Another thirty minutes went by.」

Wen Yu walked directly towards Pandora’s Magic Box.

Once the light faded, a golden card appeared in his hand. After placing the card in his space ring, Wen Yu set down the Box and slowly retreated to a safe distance. Only then did he carefully examine his prize.

As Wen Yu stared at the golden card, a notification sounded in his mind.

”DING! Roger’s treasure found. Please choose the type of treasure!”
