Chapter 850: Chapter 81: Dividing the Spoils

Dusk Palace, seventh floor.

Su Xiao, Yan Chen, the Counterfeit Clown, Black Blood, the OL Beauty, and others gathered together, the scene imaginable.

Su Xiao was maintaining Dragon Slash, with a variety of knife care tools arrayed in front of him.

Yan Chen held a piece of raw meat, teasing the Flame Tiger, which, in front of Yan Chen, was like a big cat.

The Counterfeit Clown was holding a hollow dagger in one hand and a small mirror in the other, seemingly displeased with his current look, occasionally extending the cuts on his face, with fresh blood trickling down the dagger.

Black Blood held his breath, his face flushed red, looking as if he might suffocate at any moment.

The OL Beauty sat on the side, extremely nervous, feeling like a Siberian Husky among wolves, ready to be exposed at any moment, her eyes seemed to shout: ’Who will save me? I’m about to be exposed.’

Not to mention the psychological shadow of the OL Beauty among a group of lunatics, it was time for the group to distribute the spoils.

”How do we deal with the others? We have a total of 1089 merit points, excluding our shares. The amount distributed to them is very little.”

Su Xiao spoke up, Dragon Slash was already as good as new after his care.

”I’ll handle that.”

Yan Chen spoke, ambitious, intending to use this opportunity to win hearts. He could take a smaller share, but Su Xiao couldn’t stop him from doing something specific.

The situation was clear; the over a hundred lunatics remaining in the Dusk Palace wouldn’t be welcomed back into their respective adventure groups. Yan Chen had his eyes on these people.

”Oh? Are you also responsible for their shares?”

Su Xiao looked at the Counterfeit Clown, Black Blood, and the OL Beauty.

”Of course, you get what you give, which is my initial investment in the new adventure group. I’ll be responsible for their shares.”

Yan Chen cast an inquiring glance at the Counterfeit Clown and Black Blood, recruiting the two.

”I’m fine with that, but Yan Chen, if following you becomes boring, I can leave at any time.”

The Counterfeit Clown didn’t mind joining another adventure group since his original one had been wiped out.

”As for me...”

Black Blood yawned.

”I refuse.”

Black Blood rejected Yan Chen’s offer.

”Why?”

Yan Chen’s expression remained unchanged.

”No reason.”

Black Blood shrugged, challenging Yan Chen with his gaze.

”Little bastard, believe it or not, I’ll throw you into the pit below right now.”

Yan Chen ’gently’ patted Black Blood’s shoulder.

”Really? I’ve always wanted to jump down, but hesitated thinking it might really lead to death.”

Just after Black Blood spoke, the Flame Tiger beside Yan Chen lunged forward, biting Black Blood’s throat.

”Hahahaha.”

Black Blood suddenly laughed, completely indifferent to being bitten by the Flame Tiger.

”I suddenly changed my mind; joining you seems not bad at all.”

”Let him go.”

Yan Chen had anticipated this scenario. Most didn’t understand Black Blood’s thoughts, but Yan Chen knew this young man enjoyed the thrill between life and death.

”You two, I won’t force you to do anything, nor do you need to call me boss. In the strict hierarchy adventure group model, Xi has already proven with life that before the leader’s death, such an organization is strong. Once the leader dies, it collapses into a mess.

I have a great idea; the future Mingmen won’t be a one-man hall of mine. The leader’s position will go to the capable. If anyone disagrees, they’re welcome to challenge me anytime. If anyone dares to act secretly, I’ll kill them right away, not just kick them out of the adventure group but actually kill them.”

Having said that, Yan Chen glanced at the Counterfeit Clown and Black Blood, his gaze meaningful. Both of them were unruly. Bringing such people together into an adventure group, the traditional model wouldn’t work. Moreover, Yan Chen intended to integrate over a hundred lunatics into the adventure group.

”Interesting, if that’s the case, I definitely want to join.”

The Counterfeit Clown laughed, slapping his thigh while laughing.

”I’m more inclined to join now, observing temporarily within your adventure group.”

Black Blood withdrew the laziness from his face.

”Okay, the original Mingmen is officially dissolved, and the new Mingmen is established today. First, we need to select a leader. I recommend myself.”

The Magic Gun appeared in Yan Chen’s hand, showing his excitement, which he hadn’t experienced when originally forming Mingmen.

”What a coincidence, I also recommend myself.”

The dagger in the Counterfeit Clown’s hand flipped.

”What a coincidence, I recommend myself too.”

Bombs appeared on Black Blood.

The three faced off, in the new Mingmen, the strong prevail, taking survival of the fittest to the extreme.

”Um... I... recommend, Boss Yan Chen.”

The OL Beauty weakly raised her hand.

”Hmm, not bad.”

Yan Chen patted the OL Beauty’s shoulder.

”Why not recommend me?”

The Counterfeit Clown’s eyes were bloodshot, staring straight at the OL Beauty.

”Mr. Clown, we’re not familiar, as for recommending...”

The OL Beauty was very flustered, realizing the Counterfeit Clown and Black Blood were not people to mess with, one had eccentric abilities, the other was indifferent to life. As a normal person, she was afraid of these two.

”Enough talk, let’s fight it out. The winner becomes the leader.”

Yan Chen’s motives were obviously impure; in terms of strength, he was among the top. As for not recruiting Su Xiao, Yan Chen never had that intention. Su Xiao was too dangerous.

Facing the impending battle of the three, Su Xiao had one thing to do.

”Yan Chen, I don’t want to get involved in your adventure group’s internal matters, but before that, let’s settle the issue of dividing the spoils. We’ve already formed an alliance; I don’t have the habit of taking all for myself.”

”Alright. Then thirty-seventy split, considering we have more people.”

Yan Chen’s high demand was normal, given it’s a negotiation.

”Forty-sixty.”

Su Xiao’s idea was, he takes sixty, Yan Chen takes forty. In negotiations, it’s common to leave some room.

”I’m in a bit of a hurry, so sixty-forty, which is the maximum I can accept.”

”Fifty-fifty, because while dealing with Xi, I paid additional unexpected costs.”

Su Xiao’s words made Yan Chen hesitant, because that’s indeed the truth. Xi was killed by Su Xiao, allowing him a large share in the distribution, adding that Su Xiao provided high-power explosives, and because Yan Chen had other plans, using this opportunity to form a new adventure group. He was worried Su Xiao might interfere.

”Fifty-fifty... okay, let’s sign a temporary contract, and for the next four days, neither side will interfere with the other.”

”No problem.”

Su Xiao traded 544 merit points to Yan Chen, and they both signed a non-interference agreement.

It seemed that Yan Chen and Su Xiao’s fifty-fifty split cost Yan Chen a lot, given that Yan Chen’s fifty percent also had to be shared with the Counterfeit Clown, Black Blood, the OL Beauty, and over a hundred crazed Contractors.

Was that really the case? Not exactly, Yan Chen was willing to lose some now to find a way to form an adventure group. Those remaining in the Dusk Palace had impressive combat strength, and more importantly, weren’t afraid of death, making them willing to do unethical things without hesitation.

The benefits were numerous, but so were the downsides, like the mental state of these people being far from normal and mostly rebellious. However, was Yan Chen mentally stable? Apparently not.

A mad leader + a group of mad members, the future Mingmen would definitely be a presence that inspires fear.
