Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 829: Chapter 60: Contemplating Life

The black-haired, red-eyed youth emerged from the smoke and dust, his naked upper body strapped with bombs.

”Is this... an Undead Physique?”

Xi, floating above the forest, saw this scene, and at that moment, a bullet whizzed towards her.

Ding!

Crystal fragments scattered, a thick transparent crystal wall appeared in front of Xi, with a sniper bullet embedded in it. Her current position was like a target.

Xi certainly knew this; although she was not afraid of long-range attacks, it was not wise to consume too much Crystal Energy before battle, so she returned to the forest.

A large number of Apocalypse Paradise contractors were gathered within the forest of Zone 3, using various means to watch one person, the black-haired, red-eyed youth.

The youth stood in front of tens of thousands of beastman soldiers, his eyes devoid of fear, considering one thing: what was his name.

”I’ve died too many times recently. I seem to be called Black Blood? Perhaps not.”

Black Blood scratched his head, his previously confused gaze gradually stabilizing as he faced the beastman army charging towards him.

Curved knives, longswords, battle axes were swung at him; Black Blood did not defend, as he simply did not care about these attacks, fearing only anesthetic potions or skills.

Black Blood possessed the Subhuman Bloodline, which came with extremely high survival ability and strong immortality; after dying, it would reset the body and heal all injuries—a comparison that homunculi and other bloodlines could not match.

The Subhuman Bloodline had a fatal flaw, however—relatively weak attack ability. Black Blood knew this well, so he compensated with bombs. He mastered a skill: Random Mystical Bomb Generation Level 28, which could randomly generate dozens of mystical bombs, such as Spiritual Bombs, Magic Bombs, Alchemy Bombs, etc.

If another contractor mastered this ability, they might only become a demolition expert; Black Blood was different. Subhuman Bloodline + Random Mystical Bomb Generation = Taliban Player.

The sound of weapons slicing merged into one, Black Blood, having rushed into the beastman army, had his head and an arm chopped off.

Boom!

Firelight spread, the impact of the explosion rippling outwards with a radius of over a hundred meters.

Charred limbs and dismembered bodies flew everywhere—in just one round, over three hundred beastmen died, truly an area wiped out.

”Is it over?”

A beastman squad leader watched the firelight of the explosion with lingering fear.

”Hello, beastman children.”

Black Blood emerged from the firelight, smiling broadly, burnt all over, as bombs appeared once more.

”Kill him!”

The beastman squad leader roared in anger, pretending to be fearless, but his pupils were trembling.

Beastman soldiers lunged at Black Blood, who looked up at the sky.

”Strange, who am I exactly?”

Boom!

Another explosion, hundreds more beastmen dead.

In Zone 3’s forest, many Apocalypse Paradise contractors witnessed this, a small portion looking stunned.

”Are all our opponents... like him?”

An Apocalypse Paradise contractor swallowed nervously; Black Blood’s ability wasn’t terrifying, but his numbness towards life and death was.

”I hope not; this might be an exception, there are those among us who also can’t endure the psychological stress, turning out like this.”

”That’s right, I don’t believe Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise aren’t afraid of death.”

Boom, boom, boom...

Explosions were heard, the beastman army hadn’t even reached District 2, and over a thousand were dead or injured.

When the smoke from the last explosion cleared, Black Blood lay on the ground, seeming exhausted, actually recalling who he was.

Although Black Blood lay there, no nearby beastman soldiers dared approach him. The beastman soldiers continued to march forward, a hundred-meter-wide passage appeared amid their formation, with Black Blood lying in the center, unapproachable by anyone. The self-destructing youth did not rise again, seemingly contemplating life—where am I? Who am I?

High up in District 2, a leader, a contractor from Reincarnation Paradise, observed this scene.

”This kid’s not bad; brothers, get ready to welcome our ’friends’, the beastmen.”

After the leader spoke, the contractors under him weakly responded.

”Hey, show some morale.”

”Got it, Boss.”

”We’ve killed too many beastmen, just can’t muster any interest now.”

Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise spread throughout the maze of District 2, all holding maps. To them, this maze was a natural defense against charges.

Above, Green Phosphorus Burning Bottles occasionally fell—who knew how many of those Xi obtained.

”Kill!”

The beastman army surged toward the ruined walls of District 2, greeted by cold gunfire and explosives.

Pop, pop, pop...

A contractor wielding a Dark Purple Quality pistol kept pulling the trigger, the silencer on the muzzle effectively masking his position; every three shots caused a beastman to fall, his spear ability was excellent.

Decocking, reloading, and continuing to shoot, this spearman behaved like a precise machine, actions swift and accurate.

Hundreds of contractors’ long-range firepower faced the beastman army, causing them to collapse layer by layer before approaching District 2.

The smell of gunpowder and blood mixed, the curtain of war raised.

Despite severe casualties, the beastman army’s vast numbers allowed them to push through with the Human Sea Tactic.

Whoosh~

Green Phosphorus Burning Bottles fell from above, scattering contractors at the impact site; however, one was caught by beastman soldiers.

Crash, the bottle shattered upon landing, green flames spreading.

”Ah!”

A contractor aflame with green fire screamed in agony, feeling a pain worse than death—as Green Phosphorus Fire adhered, he was doomed.

Realizing this, the contractor aimed his gun at his head and pulled the trigger.

Bang! Brain matter splattered, the contractor collapsed, instantly consumed by flames to the point of ashes.

Nearby Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise witnessed the scene, their hearts unmoved, familiar with life and death.

As the beastmen rushed into District 2, over 4,000 lay dead or injured, nearly half their number.

Would Xi let these beastmen die in vain? Of course not, they were used as cannon fodder to reduce Apocalypse Paradise contractor casualties.

”Defense team, charge out of the forest in five seconds; long range team follows defense team; support team follows long range team; close combat team brings up the rear.”

Xi issued orders on the war channel, and the prepared Apocalypse Paradise contractors waited silently.

Xi utilized the beastmen to shield her side’s contractors from bullets. With them dragged at the forefront, Apocalypse contractors could avoid over 90% of long-range attacks.

It was clear to all: tens of thousands of beastman soldiers would soon be slain by hundreds of contractors; Xi didn’t expect them to breach the Reincarnation Paradise side’s defense—she was merely minimizing casualties.

Obviously, Xi succeeded; this wasn’t a plot, it was an open strategy. Over ten thousand beastmen had to be engaged or eliminated, providing a chance for Apocalypse Paradise contractors to make their move.
