Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 831: Chapter 62: The Correct Way to Earn Merit

The black ball slowly descended, and when it was three meters above the ground, it shattered, forming a line of text in mid-air.

’Outer area of Ancient Ruins, east side of the barren grasslands, to decide between life and death.’

This was Duke Lan’s declaration of battle; the guy preferred to fight Su Xiao in a secluded location rather than on a chaotic battlefield.

This could be a battle invitation or a trap.

Su Xiao thought for a moment, got up, and walked toward the Natural Labyrinth ahead.

The Natural Labyrinth was generally circular, with numerous Contractors scattered throughout it. Su Xiao headed towards a direction with fewer Contractors.

The inner area of the labyrinth was occupied by Reincarnation Paradise Contractors, while the outer area was occupied by Apocalypse Paradise Contractors, both sides engaged in fierce battles.

Su Xiao ventured deeper into the labyrinth and soon encountered a seven-person team blocking his path, Contractors from Apocalypse Paradise.

The seven people looked at Su Xiao, gradually spreading out to form an encirclement.

”Take care of him in one minute; the defenses in this direction are weak, there’s a possibility of breaking in.”

”Doesn’t this guy seem a bit familiar?”

”Don’t think too much; breaking in is the most important.”

A Mage Lord pointed their magic wand at Su Xiao, wind elements surged on their body.

”You’ve got bad luck running into us alone.”

Just as the Mage Lord finished speaking.

Bang! Rocks flew everywhere.

Clang.

A five-meter diameter blade aura rushed towards them.

”Something’s off about this guy!”

The Tank at the front roared, just as he was about to raise his shield, a piercing wind sound approached.

Bright sword light flashed in his eyes, his pupils faintly pained, seemingly injured by the sword light. As soon as the sword light appeared, his hand felt light; the shield in his hand had been sliced diagonally in half. The shield’s grade in Reincarnation Paradise terms was of Purple Quality, but how could it withstand the light golden quality Dragon Slash’s cleave, especially since Dragon Slash’s attributes were no weaker than golden quality weapons, excelling in sharpness.

”Impossible...”

The Tank quickly leaped backward, but it was already too late; Su Xiao’s sword was simply too fast, even agile contractors couldn’t evade it, let alone a Tank.

The blade struck the Tank’s throat, effortlessly breaking through his body’s defense.

In one slash, most of the Tank’s throat was cut open; upon seeing the combat information, he was utterly in despair.

[Warning: You have been armor-broken.]

[You have been eroded by unknown energy, and your Mana Value has been annihilated by 160 points.]

...

The Tank’s body stiffened in mid-air, and the next moment, his vision plunged into darkness.

From the release of the blade to beheading the enemy, it took Su Xiao no more than two seconds. After slaughtering the enemy Tank, he curled his body; the other six Contractors’ attacks were already incoming, consisting of three energy thorns made of wind elements and two bullets.

Shave.

With a swoosh, Su Xiao vanished from his original position, evading the attacks while rushing to the Mage Lord’s front.

This was a Wind System Mage Lord, both offensive and survival abilities were robust.

”Wind Rider Frenzy.”

The Wind Mage pointed a magic wand to the ground, forming a gust around him, blowing continuously in all directions.

Su Xiao bore the brunt, a force pushed toward him; he drove the Dragon Slaying Thrust into the ground, assuming a half-squat posture and slowly retreated.

Bzzt~

Boundary Line launched, its tip flashing coldly as it shot toward the Wind Mage with great speed after being enhanced +10.

The hook lock broke through the whirlwind, rushing overwhelmingly toward the Wind Mage.

The Wind Mage was in a casting state; if he used a defensive skill or dodged now, the massive repelling skill he’s casting would fail.

A second ago, the Wind Mage watched the Tank get instantly killed; this Wind Mage with a small beard under his chin swore he wouldn’t let this monster, capable of instantly killing a Tank, get within ten meters of him. If the skill successfully repels the enemy, he would immediately retreat, for he didn’t want to fight a monster with strength beyond measure.

Thud.

The hook lock of Boundary Line pierced the Wind Mage’s thigh, his face unchanged, he ignored the injury.

As Su Xiao was being gently pushed back by the wind pressure, he activated Blue Steel Shadow Energy, its skill description being: ’Every close combat attack burns 160 points of enemy Mana Value, dealing 1.5 times the burned Mana Value as True Damage,’ while at present, it’s a situation between close combat and long-range attack.

Blue Steel Shadow Energy swiftly spread along Boundary Line towards Wind Mage.

”Electric?”

The Wind Mage activated an equipment skill, temporarily increasing resistance to Fire attributes and Electric attributes.

Blue Steel Shadow Energy infiltrated from the Wind Mage’s leg wound into his body, just as he prepared to endure an electric shock, an unimaginable pain surged in his brain.

The Wind Mage’s eyes rolled back, drool dripped from his mouth, casting ceased, his body softly collapsed forward, before hitting the ground, a pale blue blade aura approached his throat.

The blade aura sliced across his throat, a swath of blood spurted out; the Wind Mage didn’t even feel pain. Those Blue Steel Shadow energies penetrating his brain weren’t just True Damage or Control Effects; they directly disrupted his Mana operation, temporarily ’crashing’ his brain.

After handling two core members of the seven-man team, Su Xiao glanced at the remaining five, who were previously repelled by the magic skill of the Wind Mage. This is real combat, not an immunity from teammates; sometimes, allies’ friendly fire is more dangerous than enemy attacks.

The remaining five didn’t even glance at Su Xiao; they fled at full speed towards the outside of the Natural Labyrinth, terrified by Su Xiao’s Attack power.

Three minutes later.

A Contractor lay on the ground, face and hands covered in blood, Su Xiao stepping on his back with one foot.

”Please, don’t kill me, I can give you...”

With a swift sound, a sharp weapon sliced through flesh; the Slaughter Dagger cut the Contractor’s throat under Su Xiao’s foot. This guy’s ability was very special, not sure which world he came from, but it didn’t seem like it was from the anime world.

This was one of the five fleeing Contractors; two managed to escape while the rest were hunted down and killed by Su Xiao.

About thirty meters away, a Contractor from Apocalypse Paradise hid within a rock crevice—a petite girl, otherwise she wouldn’t fit in such a small gap. She was a Perception Type Contractor, capable of completely masking her aura.

At this moment, the Perception-type girl’s body trembled; she was a former member of the seven-person team that engaged Su Xiao.

Footsteps drew near, closer and closer, the Perception Type girl’s heart nearly jumped out of her throat, tears poured from her eyes, her delicate white hands covered her mouth.

Recalling the scene from a few minutes ago, she doubted whether she was dreaming. Her team surrounded an enemy, assuming an easy win, but within seconds, a nightmare unfolded—her teammate’s indestructible shield slashed in one blow, then beheaded. This was not all; the Mage Lord in their team suddenly collapsed under ’mysterious’ reasons before getting killed.

The enemy maintained silence throughout, only killing and avoiding superfluous actions—violent, sharp, defying any opportunity to beg for mercy.

As the Perception Type girl shivered inside the stone crevice, Su Xiao had already walked out of the Natural Maze, heading towards the edge of the Ancient Ruins.

”Indeed, killing enemy Contractors is the fastest way to earn Paradise Merit.”

Not long after exiting the labyrinth, Bubu Wang ran out from the labyrinth, catching up to Su Xiao.

Walking along the way, Su Xiao checked his Reincarnation Paradise Merit, current Merit: 22 points.

During the war at Black Soil Fortress, Su Xiao earned only 3 Merit points despite the ongoing battles, yet now, while the Contractor’s royal rumble had just begun, he had accrued 19 Merit points.
