Chapter 819: Chapter 50: Unstable Potion

Su Xiao sat in front of the experimental bench, with a beaker placed in front of him. He occasionally picked up test tubes and poured various liquids into the beaker.

Gulu gulu～

A string of bubbles surged from the liquid in the beaker. After adding dozens of materials to the beaker, a glow flickered in Su Xiao’s hands.

Crack!

Cracks appeared on the beaker, and the black-green liquid inside began to thicken like a cup of asphalt.

”Failed?”

Beside him, Caesar’s eyes were wide open, and his cheeks trembled. No wonder he was so surprised; the materials Su Xiao used were too expensive.

Su Xiao ignored Caesar, focusing intently on the beaker in front of him.

He held the beaker with both hands, causing his Mana Value to deplete rapidly. The Mana Value transformed through alchemy is the best catalyst.

Gulu gulu...

The liquid in the beaker began to boil. The liquid, which was originally as thick as asphalt, started to dilute, and its color changed from black-green to pale red.

The glow in Su Xiao’s hands disappeared. Creating this bottle of Unstable Potion consumed a total of 900 points of his Mana Value, along with numerous precious materials.

Su Xiao carefully picked up the beaker and poured the pale red liquid into a crystal test tube, sealing it with a cork.

”Did it succeed? Can this thing help Carlos eliminate the unknown energy?”

Caesar’s eyes gleamed green, eager to snatch the Unstable Potion from Su Xiao’s hands at any moment.

...

Undoubtedly, the ’Recovery Potion’ created by Su Xiao has a very strong effect, restoring 160~230 Life Value per second. If Su Xiao enters a brink of death state, his Life Value can be fully recovered in at most 10 seconds. Furthermore, after drinking this potion, the recovery effect lasts for 1 hour.

The effect is indeed powerful, and the side effects are equally astonishing, permanently reducing Power, Physical attributes, Life Value, and Mana Value. Even worse is the permanently triggered abnormal state: mental trauma, paralysis, loss of taste, etc., each one being a very serious consequence.

The potion’s value for combat consumption is very low, at least Su Xiao would not drink this thing. When he concocted the potion, he didn’t consider the side effects at all, he was just pursuing the recovery effect.

”Take it.”

Su Xiao handed the [Unstable Potion] to Caesar, who quickly took it and unplugged the cork to sniff it.

An overwhelming sweet fishy smell rushed into Caesar’s nasal cavity, leaving him dazed, with a tendency to roll his eyes.

Obviously, Caesar’s Stamina is below 70 points. There’s even doubt if this guy has 30 points of Stamina.

After a dozen seconds, the dazed Caesar recovered.

”This thing... is it poison? Are you trying... to poison Carlos!?”

Caesar swallowed his saliva, smelling a conspiracy in the air.

”Is your brain fuddled? If Carlos dies, you all might die in Black Soil Fortress. This thing is to ensure Carlos doesn’t die.”

The reason Su Xiao consumed a lot of Mana Value to concoct this potion was because he noticed a line in the task information, ’the unknown energy within Carlos has formed a low-level symbiosis with Carlos.’

”Contact Legion Commander Carlos, whether to drink this or not is his own decision. I’m busy right now, and there are several other potions to concoct. These are the necessary materials for concoction.”

Su Xiao handed Caesar a list.

”Water Attribute + Life Attribute herbs, materials with the third Refining Array trait, seven kinds...”

Caesar’s face grew increasingly unsightly. These materials were too scarce, and their prices had become exceptionally exorbitant.

”Sun Remains? Fire Gold? A small shard of Soul Crystal?”

Caesar sensed something was amiss.

”What do you want these three things for? These seem like materials for making bombs...”

Caesar isn’t stupid, but his level of alchemy is too low. Su Xiao stopped concocting and turned to look at Caesar.

”Sun Remains is a highly concentrated Flame Attribute material. The energy in Carlos’s body leans towards the Dark Attribute. Fire Gold is for emergency needs. Once the Dark Attribute energy in Carlos’ body erupts, injecting an appropriate amount of Fire Gold solution into him can slow down his death rate. According to the 17th formula on energy rhythm law...”

Su Xiao explained a whole bunch of extremely professional alchemy terms to Caesar, who was left bewildered. With his awkward alchemy understanding, he could grasp only a small part.

”Understand?”

After Su Xiao finished speaking, he continued concocting potions. Caesar first shook his head, then nodded. Although he didn’t understand, it seemed like what Su Xiao said made sense.

In truth, Su Xiao was bluffing. Sun Remains + Fire Gold + small shard of Soul Crystal (Soul Crystal small) + 500 points of Mana Value = Sun God·Apollo.

Caesar went to contact Carlos and collect materials, while Su Xiao continued concocting alchemy potions. Actually, apart from that bottle of [Unstable Potion], the other potions were all a cover.

Two hours later, Caesar returned with a large bundle of supplies, followed by Carlos in an Imperial Military Uniform. Carlos doesn’t wear armor all the time; he typically wears the Imperial Military Uniform in non-war times.

Wearing a neat military uniform, with a small beard on his chin and faint traces of blood energy on him, Carlos was definitely a handsome middle-aged uncle, capable of captivating thousands of girls in the Empire. No wonder the Dark night elf princess had taken a liking to him.

Behind Carlos, a woman wearing a black long dress, who seemed as though she could meld into the darkness at any moment, stood outside the door.

Except for the loving gaze she cast towards Carlos, her first glance at others always targeted crucial points like the throat and heart.

Sensing the aura of this woman, Su Xiao could discern she was an assassin frequently lurking in darkness.

This woman was the Dark night elf princess, named Anna, Carlos’s lover. Although their relationship wasn’t acknowledged by the Night Elf Clan, the reason being that after a dark night elf and a human combined, the offspring tend to have mediocre talents and even lost their stealth ability.

”Caesar, who is he?”

The Dark night elf princess moved a few steps forward to confront Caesar, with a black dagger sliding out from her sleeve, positioned against Caesar’s throat. The sharp edge of the dagger even sliced Caesar’s skin, ready to slit his throat at any moment.

”An-An-Anna, Anna Miss Princess, he-he-he, he’s the assistant I found.”

Frightened, Caesar stuttered, making incoherent statements. Heaven knows what kind of title ’Anna Miss Princess’ is supposed to be. Whether it’s ’Miss’ or ’Princess,’ it made Anna seem like she worked at a nightclub.

”Anna.”

Carlos placed his hand on Anna’s shoulder, and Anna snorted lightly, releasing Caesar.
