Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 830: Chapter 61: The Challenge Letter

Yan Chen stood above the Dusk Palace, seeing through Xi’s plan. However, seeing through it was useless; the greatest advantage of an open scheme is that it doesn’t fear being exposed.

”Estimated ten minutes to clear out these Beastmen. Got played by that woman.”

Yan Chen sighed, his eyes narrowed as he considered the strategy to follow. Suddenly, some memories surged in his mind.

”Don’t show me this!”

Yan Chen’s expression turned fierce, but a few seconds later it returned to calm.

”Just an illusion.”

With a long breath, Yan Chen refocused his heart power on the Contractor battle royale.

The Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise took less than ten minutes; it was under eight minutes, and tens of thousands of Beastman soldiers were already dead.

However, before the Beastmen were completely wiped out, the Apocalypse Paradise contractors had already rushed to the front of District 2.

”Split into four teams, four breakthrough points.”

A female gunman from Apocalypse Paradise shouted, and the contractors behind her quickly split into four teams, each with over two hundred members. At the front of each team were contractors skilled in defense, followed by close combat, then long-range, and finally support type contractors.

District 2’s maze has four large entrances, and the Apocalypse Paradise side seemed familiar with the maze’s terrain.

The Apocalypse Paradise contractors quickly charged into the maze, and a main tank holding a Heavy Shield barreled towards a contractor from Reincarnation Paradise like a tank.

”Idiot.”

The Reincarnation Paradise contractor raised a middle finger to the main tank, who sneered. At that moment, suddenly a mutation began, and a Skull appeared above the main tank, significantly decreasing his equipment’s defensive power rapidly.

Sniper bullets shot towards the main tank, sparks flew, and the powerful impact made it hard for him to hold onto his shield, coming from ten snipers of Reincarnation Paradise simultaneously sniping.

In less than two seconds, the main tank’s shield was riddled with pits; after five seconds, cracks appeared in the shield, and the main tank could no longer hold it.

Without his shield, the main tank’s fate was predictable. Bullets hit his body, carrying either energy or additional skill effects, and in an instant, the main tank was down on the ground. Three seconds later, he was blown into a pile of minced meat; the tank got killed instantly! This fallen tank ranked in the top ten in Xi’s defense contractors by strength.

That’s the Contractor battle royale, no matter how strong the main tank is, once debuff status is applied and focus fire is concentrated, being killed is only a matter of seconds for dozens of seconds. As for close combat types, they last no more than five seconds at most, and long-range suffers more miserably, even without debuff status, they will be instantly killed.

In this initial stage of the Contractor battle royale, it is crucial not to be too arrogant, as it is highly likely to be killed by focus fire instantly, whether it’s Xi, or Yan Chen, or Su Xiao, all three have not appeared for this reason; being focused by a dozen long-range is manageable, but focused by dozens and dozens, none of the three could survive long.

Both sides’ contractors rushed into the maze formed by broken walls in District 2; in such a maze, team coordination means little, the space is too tight, splitting larger groups into smaller ones is the right choice. Both sides chose this way, splitting into teams of 5-10.

Bam, bam...

Bullets passed through the ruins between the walls, stray bullets bounced around, creating bullet holes in the severely weathered stone walls.

An Arcanist Master hid atop a stone pillar; as a squad of Apocalypse Paradise contractors approached, elements surged on his body.

Buzz!

Chain arrays activated on the ground, arcane energy spikes emerged from underground, enveloping the Apocalypse Paradise squad.

After a harsh cry, the five-person squad fell with 4 down, three seriously injured, one near death.

Bang, bang, bang...

Bullets fired were swiftly followed up for finishing; the injured handed down potions already onto the ground.

The surviving Defense Contractor gasped heavily, blood dripping from his cheeks, feeling rather hopeless.

”I... I surrender. I give up this war task.”

Hearing this, two arcanists atop the stone pillar and a gunman were stunned; they exchanged a perplexed look before spells and bullets attacked the Defense Contractor.

Rolling on the ground, the Defense Contractor added, ”Must you be ruthless? I’ll offer up three pieces of equipment...”

Bang, bang, bang...

Three bullets pierced into the Defense Contractor’s skull; his eyes quickly lost light.

The gunman removed the magazine, saying, ”What are these guys thinking? Can they still surrender?”

”Who knows, maybe it’s their side’s trait, let’s continue ambushing the next wave. How many did you get?”

The Arcanist Master hidden within the recess atop the pillar responded.

”Six, and you?”

”Four, you bastard, always snatching kills.”

”My bullets hit harder.”

Both the Arcanist Master and the gunman were loners, neither weak, conveniently teamed up temporarily due to syncing personalities.

Inside the maze, a team of six Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise.

The six were covered in blood, surrounded by over twenty Apocalypse Paradise contractors, which were three teams.

”Not good, seems we’re dead here. Though we weren’t familiar before, now we’re dying together.”

”Heh, I always knew this day would come. Reaching the Second Tier was surprising even to myself.”

”Stop with the despair talk, there’s still a chance.”

The Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise quietly discussed as Apocalypse Paradise contractors gradually closed in.

”Hey, brothers, see that Arcanist Master there? That cocky one? We’re dead anyway, let’s join forces to kill him first.”

”Great idea.”

”Agreed.”

Their eyes all focused on the Arcanist Master of Apocalypse Paradise, who suddenly clenched in shock.

”Kill them.”

With those words from the Arcanist Master finished, six Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise rushed at him recklessly.

A few minutes later, seven bodies lay on the ground, the surrounding Apocalypse Paradise contractors looked displeased.

”Jonathan is dead, what now? He was our main player.”

A female contractor turned her head, unwilling to look at the Arcanist Master’s corpse, resembling no longer a body but minced meat.

”These bastards—they had issues, scheming against each other before, suddenly united before death.”

...

Lights of various colors flashed in the maze, gunshots, clashes, and screams meld in chaotic fray. Contractors of different abilities fought intensely, the rapidly rising deaths highlighting the match like a true elimination battle; come the end, only the strong survive.

In front of the Dusk Palace, Su Xiao watched the battlefield from a distance. Despite wanting to join, now was not the time; Duke Lan was like a thorn in the throat.

The metallic arrow of Duke Lan was too fitting for ambush, if Su Xiao encountered him while battling strong foes, he’d be in dire straits if Lan appeared.

However, Duke Lan was facing a similar situation; he dared not appear on the battlefield either, dragged down in combat, Su Xiao would seize the chance to close in, spelling Duke Lan’s demise.

Neither side dared to act rashly; this left Su Xiao rather impatient, knowing each death of an Apocalypse Paradise contractor brought 3 to 5 merit points; merit linked to world rewards.

Given this battlefield model, the merit top-ranking Contractors of Reincarnation Paradise likely receive extra rewards, though Reincarnation Paradise hadn’t announced this to avoid internal conflicts among the Contractors.

Buzz～

A Mechanical Bee flew over the battlefield, its compound eyes gleaming red, quickly locking on Su Xiao’s position, diving downward.

Upon seeing the Mechanical Bee, Su Xiao already guessed what’s going on.

The Mechanical Bee flew over Su Xiao, dropping a walnut-sized black sphere.
