Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 823: Chapter 54: Journey

The burning sun was in the sky, like a fireball scorching the earth. The air was somewhat distorted, with insects hidden somewhere chirping incessantly.

Su Xiao walked across a desolate grassland. The grassland was not flat; the tips of the tenacious grass blades were yellow and dried up.

In such high-temperature weather, walking on the grassland was by no means a pleasant experience. The high temperature evaporated the surface moisture, making the entire grassland feel like a steaming oven, very sultry.

Su Xiao was shirtless. Although not a muscle-bound man, the muscles on his body gave a sense of strength.

Sweat dripped down his cheeks. Despite Su Xiao’s physical attributes allowing him to ignore the burning sun overhead, the stifling heat from the ground permeated his pores, causing him to quickly sweat out the water inside his body.

”Bu Bu, don’t slack off. There’s at least five hundred kilometers to go.”

Su Xiao glanced at Bubu Wang lying not far behind him on the grass, its belly rising and falling continuously.

Bubu Wang looked up at Su Xiao, its gaze seemingly saying, ”Master, Bu Bu can’t go on. You go ahead and carry my legacy with you, but don’t let anyone know I died from the heat.”

No wonder Bubu Wang looked like this. The temperature on the grassland was at least between 50 and 60 degrees. If an ordinary person were here, they would suffer heatstroke in less than half an hour and be completely dehydrated in about an hour. Touching the ground now would reveal it was scorching hot, and who knows how those grasses managed to survive.

The grassland itself was sultry. Su Xiao was drenched in sweat, not to mention Bubu Wang wearing a ”real leather coat.”

”Stop playing dead, get moving.”

Su Xiao took out a bottle of water and poured it over his head, alleviating some of the oppressive heat. Wisps of white steam rose.

”This damn weather, it’s not even this hot in the desert.”

Su Xiao squinted up at the sky, the glaring sun causing him to narrow his eyes.

Only heaven knows why this grassland was so hot. Just hours ago, he was walking in a refreshing breeze and sand. Now the scenery had changed to a steamer.

Looking at Su Xiao continuing forward, Bubu Wang sighed, reluctantly got up, and walked with weak steps.

”Bu Bu, this weather is great for losing weight. How about carrying me for a bit?”

Su Xiao’s suggestion made Bubu Wang take a few steps back, its gaze clearly saying, ”Master, I’m a proper dog. I excel at fighting, not being a mount.”

After battling with Beauty Cat Bessini, Bubu Wang had some inexplicable confidence in its own strength.

”You might just handle that cat, whew~ it’s too hot.”

Su Xiao’s mind was restlessly irritated by the heat, so he could only engage in idle chatter with Bubu Wang.

The journey was hot and dull. After several hours on the grassland, the temperature around them suddenly dropped.

Whoosh~

A cold wind blew by, causing Su Xiao, who was bare-chested, to shiver. This cursed weather changed too quickly—he’d questioned life under the intense heat earlier, and now the temperature had dropped below minus 20 degrees. Fortunately, his physical strength was adequate.

As Su Xiao drew closer to the ’Alterac’ Relics, the weather became more abnormal, which indicated that the ’Alterac’ Relics was not an ordinary location.

Understandably so, as Reincarnation Paradise chose it as a battleground, suggesting it was suitable for the Contractors from Reincarnation Paradise to fight.

Regarding the contention for the World Core, if Su Xiao’s analysis was correct, it was divided into two stages.

The First Stage involved initial seizure, which was the reconnaissance team Bubu Wang was part of. This stage wasn’t about the ownership of the World Core; rather, whoever seized the World Core could deploy it at a location advantageous for their side, like the ’Alterac’ Relics.

The second stage likely concerned the ultimate ownership of the World Core. After delivering the World Core to the designated location, a large-scale confrontation between the two sides was probable. Otherwise, nearly two thousand Contractors wouldn’t have been teleported into this world by the two Paradises.

The World Core’s function was very crucial, resembling proof of holding this world. Whichever side ultimately obtained the World Core, that world became theirs, marking the so-called World Struggle War.

Su Xiao took out the World Core from his pocket. He looked at this fingernail-sized transparent crystal, which might represent this world. Of course, all this was his personal conjecture.

Putting away the World Core, Su Xiao tightened the collar of his windbreaker and continued toward the ’Alterac’ Relics.

After the temperature dropped, Bubu Wang immediately became energetic. The cold climate seemed to have unlocked its intellect, making it unusually lively, darting around Su Xiao playfully and becoming more mischievous.

Now, Su Xiao resembled a traveler. Despite the diverse climate changes along the way, he also saw many strange sights, such as verdant streams, abruptly cut-off waterfalls, three-headed three-eyed venomous snakes; he even saw a pair of ’Butterfly’—two butterflies, one with only a left wing and the other only a right wing, which could only fly when they held onto each other, thus evading predators.

Su Xiao released the Butterfly in his hand. The two butterflies flew away, with Bubu Wang looking up in awe, seemingly wanting to take a bite.

Su Xiao watched those two butterflies fly far away, a smile appearing on his face. He was smiling at how splendidly he had lived. If he had continued as an assassin before entering Reincarnation Paradise, he would never have seen all this nor battled with numerous strong opponents.

The sky grew darker, yet Su Xiao wasn’t in a hurry, for Reincarnation Paradise had given him a full four-day time limit.

Picking up a stone from the ground, Su Xiao held it in his hand, thumb clamped, arm outstretched before him.

Bang!

Su Xiao flicked the stone with his thumb, and it burst through the air with several gusts of airwaves.

The howling of a beast came, followed by the sound of a heavy object hitting the ground in the grass. Su Xiao walked into the grass and found a deer which had its neck pierced, lying there. The wound was as thick as a steel pipe, with fresh blood bubbling from it.

”This will be dinner.”

Su Xiao took out his Slaughter Dagger, first stabbing it into the heart to finish off the deer, then began skinning and deboning it.

Holding the raw meat had a certain warmth many didn’t like. However, any living being’s existence was built on the death of other creatures or plants, with humans being the prime example.

Su Xiao arrived in a One-Line Sky-type gorge, started a fire, set up a pot, boiled water, and put the sliced venison into the pot, then added spices, salt, and several kinds of vegetables one by one.

During the wait while stewing the meat, Su Xiao took out several materials from his storage space: two fire-red meteorite fragments, three high-purity metal ores, and three small crystalline fragments, which were Sun Remains x2, Fire Gold x3, Soul Crystals (small) x3.

If all went well, Su Xiao could use these materials to craft two Sun God·Apollo.

Apollo had a blast radius of 1000 meters, dealing 6000 points of True Burn Damage, followed by another 2000 points of Fire Burn Damage. An Apollo blast could literally clear the ground.

Currently, Su Xiao was very curious about one thing: the size of the ’Alterac’ Relics. If the ’Alterac’ Relics wasn’t too large, then two Apollo blasts could reduce anything, including Queen Xi and Duke Lan, to gas in the face of 6000 points of True Burn Damage plus 2000 points of Fire Damage, provided a suitable opportunity arose.

Apollo is the Sun God, after all!
