Chapter 842: Chapter 73: Yan Chen

Yan Chen took several rapid breaths and said:

”That’s right, kill her once. Remember, if you’re fighting Xi, her usual crystallization isn’t frightening as long as your resistance is enough to avoid it. The truly terrifying part is the moment Xi dies; she fully crystallizes and explodes. You absolutely cannot let those flying crystals hit you. If you do, you’ll end up like this. This kind of crystallization requires no judgment and will continue to worsen.”

Yan Chen is a smart man. Knowing that he might not survive this ordeal, he shared with Su Xiao the crucial information he obtained at a great cost, so that Su Xiao could be prepared when facing Xi.

Without a doubt, this piece of information is extremely important. Not only does it confirm Xi has a resurrection ability, but it also provides Su Xiao with a heads-up about Xi’s killing move in advance.

”Lancer indeed is unreliable; looks like I’m going to have E-level luck today.”

Although Yan Chen doesn’t have much time left, he doesn’t fear or despair. Instead, he jokes about his lancer identity with a look in his eyes that speaks of seeing through life and death, living only for one thing.

”A sister control like me perhaps doesn’t deserve to live.”

Yan Chen laughed, thinking of his sister. His gaze was both gentle and somewhat complex. Strangely, despite Yan Chen being so heavily injured, his sister hadn’t appeared.

This was Yan Chen’s order. If his sister saw him in this state, things would be hard to clean up, and she’d immediately turn into a killing demon.

”Let me make it clear: my treatment method has a high mortality rate.”

Yan Chen, though not a mage, has too many fire elements in his body.

”It’s fine, since death seems inevitable, even if there’s a 1% chance, we have to strive for it.”

”Alright then.”

Su Xiao took out a bottle of chewing gum, popped one into his mouth and began chewing, [Yida Chewing Gum], quality: white, effect: chew in mouth to restore 15 mana points per minute. Loses effect after 5 minutes; only one piece can be chewed at a time.

Blue steel shadow energy climbed onto Su Xiao’s hand. His finger pointed at Yan Chen’s fully crystallized arm.

”Oh, damn!”

Yan Chen suddenly sat up, and Su Xiao stomped on Yan Chen’s chest, pinning him on the hospital bed.

”Just... damn it... let me... be clear... ”

Before Yan Chen could finish speaking, his eyes rolled, and he fainted.

Blue steel shadow energy spread within Yan Chen’s body, stimulating the fire elements and the crystalline energy within.

This crystalline energy is the culprit causing Yan Chen’s crystallization. It’s Xi’s ability, crystal energy, converted from mana value; 1 mana point turns into 10 crystal energy points. Once released from the body, crystal energy forms crystals. With this conversion ratio, Xi must have a significant reserve of crystal energy.

Crystal energy is a non-active energy type, whereas mana, chakra, telekinesis energy, etc., are active energy types. Both have their benefits; active energy is more widely usable, while non-active energy is more stable and doesn’t cause energy rampage situations.

The choice of such extremely stable energy relates to Xi’s personality, as that woman detests uncontrollable things.

Devouring crystal energy with blue steel shadow isn’t difficult, but the challenge is ensuring Yan Chen doesn’t die from the true damage caused by blue steel shadow energy devouring the energy.

The true damage caused during the devouring process of blue steel shadow energy can only be described as terrifying.

Fortunately, with Milk Candy from Mingmen Adventure Group serving as the chief healer, Yan Chen won’t die immediately.

Don’t assume this can guarantee Yan Chen’s survival. Seconds after blue steel shadow energy entered Yan Chen’s body, Su Xiao noticed traces of the energy creeping towards Yan Chen’s brain.

Su Xiao exerted all his effort to control this, however, his body contained too many fire elements, causing blue steel shadow energy to instinctively move towards Yan Chen’s brain.

A small portion of blue steel shadow energy entered Yan Chen’s brain, and his tightly shut eyes suddenly opened.

At this moment, a mutation occurred. Large patches of black lines appeared on Yan Chen’s face. Seeing these lines, Su Xiao realized they resembled the sealing skills from the Naruto World, and something unknown was sealed within Yan Chen’s brain.

A corner of the sealing skill shattered, and Yan Chen’s eyes began to fade with no light.

At this moment, in Yan Chen’s consciousness, he was sitting in a pitch-black room.

”What is this place...”

Yan Chen’s pupils shrank as memories he had sealed away with others flooded his mind, a torrent of memories.

An image of a four-person family, sitting in the living room, shows a teenager on the sofa replying to messages on his phone, occasionally letting out a silly smile, the kind that suggests first love. This was Yan Chen during adolescence, with a barefoot girl peeking her head past him. She looked somewhat younger than Yan Chen but shared similar features, evidently siblings. Noticing the girl peeking, Yan Chen hurriedly put away the phone, while the girl giggled as if she had something on him.

Yan Chen glared at the girl ’menacingly’, silently saying: ’If you dare tell mom and dad, I’ll hit you.’

Yan Chen’s sister beside him was angry. She tilted her head proudly, disregarding her brother’s threat, shouting, ”Mom, my brother is in early love.”

Yan Chen was scared senseless, dropping his phone into the sofa gap. On the phone was the message: ”My dear, that ugly sister of mine is peeking, let’s chat later.”

In the eyes of most older brothers, no matter the actual appearance of their sisters, they always seem ugly.

The memory stopped here and transitioned to the next scene.

In a hospital, Yan Chen sat on a plastic chair in the corridor anxiously waiting, alongside his parents, while his sister was missing.

Soon, the doctor brought Yan Chen’s sister out of the room. This usually lively little girl behaved strangely, tilting her head to look at Yan Chen with a gaze that felt unfamiliar and foreign.

The psychiatrist concluded that Yan Chen’s sister suffered from mild schizophrenia, with antisocial and violent tendencies in the split-off personality, recommending inpatient observation.

Once again the memory jumps.

Blood, a bloody carving knife, a girl drenched in blood with lifeless eyes, next to the bodies of middle-aged parents who had been dead for some time, and in the corner, a trembling teenage Yan Chen.

A day later, dying of hunger, Yan Chen got up, looking at his sister, then his parents’ corpses, recalling his father’s last words: Help your sister, don’t hate her, this wasn’t her intention.

The memory transitions again, to Reincarnation Paradise, the gathering ground of Mingmen Adventure Group.

Yan Chen sat at the head, with the dozen or so members seemingly fearful of him. Rumors had it that Yan Chen was a deranged sister control who murdered his family and forcibly imprisoned his sister. In truth, Yan Chen didn’t have sister control tendencies; his sister’s personality had vanished during the parricide, leaving behind a girl with antisocial and violent traits. Yan Chen didn’t even want to see her, let alone control her. However, Yan Chen knew, in some sense, this lunatic was still his sister.

Tragic experiences make one stronger, as with Yan Chen, who did everything a brother could; for instance, earning money to support his sister, secretly dealing with sudden, unexplained corpses appearing at home.

This is all about the ’sister control’ Yan Chen. Rather than calling him a psycho, his sister is the real psycho.

In Yan Chen’s consciousness, he sat on a chair, with darkness on his left and light on his right, trapped within the seams of light and dark.

As the sealing skill gradually recovered, Yan Chen’s memories receded. It was a helpless situation: with these memories, he often couldn’t resist wanting to kill his mad sister. However, the bond of kinship told him not to do so. In the Land of Miracles that Reincarnation Paradise offered, perhaps there was a way to restore his sister’s already dead persona, which was one of Yan Chen’s motivations.

Once all the unfortunate memories were sealed, Yan Chen’s mind fabricated a memory for himself, a work of art costing 100,000 paradise coins. Though the real memories were sealed, an intention constantly reminded him not to touch his sister as it’s ’dangerous’. His sister had a deficiency, lacking a personality that needed restoration before he could have a complete sister. At that time, he must remove the seal to learn many truths.

Sister control Yan Chen, a Flame Demon Spear Knight, anyone who tried to harm his sister would face his sister-control soul. At that moment, Yan Chen would turn insane, a fact many contractors were aware of.
